Why do you faggots like this cringey shit?

why do you faggots like this cringey shit?
I am actually serious, how can an adult say they like Warhammer 40K with a straight face

You're not supposed to take it seriously, but yeah it's cringey I admit that.

Because it doesn't work that way and no one fucking dies during warp travels, and auto-loaders are a thing. Most of the shit you hear about 40k is from grimderp fags who love to wank how lolgrim and loldark their setting is, while in reality it's just your normal sci-fi but with rater unique style and atmosphere, but without retardation of the grimderp.

A thread died for your post.

Because Warhammer began its life as a fun gonzo setting that mashed up everything the devs liked about media properties that were big in the 1970s and 80s. Lots of Judge Dredd, lots of Dune, some Alien, etc.

Over the course of a literal real world generation that's elapsed since the release of the game, this design sensibility was pushed out by a group of writers, designers, artists, etc who tried to squeeze out all the camp (and all the fun) to make a 100 percent serious product.

You just made a post on Veeky Forums, you aren't fooling anyone

Well, first off that picture is a very gross exaggeration-- it is a setting of negative extremes, but not nearly to that degree. Second, well I'm not honestly sure why I like it at all, because yes it *is* total crap, but I think part of it is *because* it's so very, very out-there. It's so removed and remote that it makes for pleasant escapism despite royally sucking.

I'm from /tv/, there was a thread about a Warhammer movie and someone posted this image
I know a few Warhammer fans but they're all weird in some way, either they're autistic/strange or furfags

I'll take "what is black comedy" for $200, Alex.

>cringey
BBEG.

>I'm from /tv/

...

its only cringy if you take it seriously, 40k should always be treated as the balls to the wall insanity that it is.

What's the big fuckin' deal?

At least it's an amusing kind of cringe
also where do you think you are etc

Originally it was tongue in cheek. Autists don't pick up on subtext very well. It morphed into what its fandom wanted it to be instead of what it started as.

>I'm from /tv/

That picture is bullshit

Some of this stuff is exaggeration, for purpose of making more impactful description. But the part about The Warp itself is 100% true, just not as common to happen.

Also
>TG
>Calling out stuff other people like with cringey and idiotic
>With straight face
Just get the fuck out.

Pic was produced by someone that isn't actually as familiar with the lore as they'd like people to think.
Confusing Astropaths (psychic communications specialists) with Navigators (stable mutant bloodlines able to guide ships through Warp) is like confusing Wood Elves and Dryads because "hey , they're both involved with trees!".

He is from /tv/

Oh. OH.

Condolence to family&Friends.

I never understood the LEMON JUICE joke

>actually taking 40k seriously

i bet you do the same with judge dredd

>he says, posting on the board dedicated to make-believe roleplaying, children card games and small toy soldiers

Ugh.

Auto-loaders are a thing on mechanicus ships only and every other alien race either uses Gretchin or technology to load their guns.
Except the tyranids, they just give birth, puke or ejaculate all over you.

>meanwhile in the entirety of the rogue trader series there's only like one minor mishap and a couple scares

>Everything is happy, lucky, bright.
>Last episode is a clip show that goes a bit further than previous episodes, everywhere he went, the Rogue Trader enslaved people and genocided xenos for a few bucks, without it being clear in the episodes themselves.

>we don’t take 40k seriously
All the autistic 40k and 40k crossover threads tell a very different story

>I'm from /tv/,
It’s bad enough I have to see you faggots and your abominable excuses for memes on /co/, now here too?

>I'm from /tv/
I'm so sorry.

>auto-loaders are a thing
If i remember correctly macro cannons have auto-loaders, while torpedoes are loaded manually by the crew

forgot the image

Y? I'll tell you Y.

>astropath steering the ship instead of the navigator
If you can't even get the basics down, what are you arguing about?

Go back there.

Not a single thing that comes under the umbrella of Veeky Forums is any more reasonable. It's all stupid shit we find fun.

It stings.

Easily, because it's a hobby, something I do for fun like fishing, cooking or scuba diving. The downside is faggots like you who feel they have a right to say what someone can or cant enjoy, something I get for all of my hobbies.

To me you are the same as the vegan faggot who tells me fishing isn't cool because "eating meat and hurting animals is wrong", or the idiot who tells me I shouldn't dive because "Sharks is scary" and only a fool would put themselves near sharks, or a gluten free advocate who tells me I should suddenly stop cooking what I want in order to stop the gluten which is harming the human race. You're a dumb faggot trying to decide for me what it is I do or dont like and assuming the only way someone should be is what you decide for them. Ironically if you had a hobby that didn't involve bitching people out for liking things you don't you'd probably be to busy enjoying yourself to care that other people enjoy things you don't. Neck yourself.

>I'm from /tv/
Like you're one to talk about cringe lmao

Honestly I assume warp travel plays by early steam engine rules. It is WAY faster and pretty safe, but when there is a technical problem everyone is fucked. People were still willing to ride trains when you had a solid chance of the engine going and taking most of the train with it. The Geller field will hold with proper maintenance, and the main engines are safe as long as you don't cut corners. Still, some of the time a bunch of parts fail catastrophically, and everybody gets eaten by daemons. Probably about as safe as air travel.

and im sure you have shit taste in media also

Because 40k isnt actually like that and its just a meme how grimdark the setting is.

That being said its basically like the Star Wars Extended Universe and Star Trek where theres so much lore and shit to go through that its not noob friendly.

This

Although I fail to see how having a serious property is a bad thing.

Someone makes fun of your hobby and you act like you're being personally attacked, like they're literally trying to take your hobby away from you, incredible. You're so mad that you can't even help but go on a rant about other things that make you mad like vegans and shit.

Go play with your plastic army men you big bitch, no one's going to stop you.

Because it's unique, unlike 95% of sci-fi and fantasy.

I cringe everytime I see someone trying to kickstart or launch a tabletop game in a fantasy setting with elves, dwarves and orcs.

It's only cringe-inducing when people take it this seriously.

I'm kind of on that guys side but this comment did make me kek.

>be on fucking Veeky Forums
>complain about people being weird

Because in this case it attracts people who are a cancer on the hobby

Because every other sci-fi setting is exactly the same. 40k has a lot of stuff no one else has, including a cool and unique aesthetic.

Your picture is also stupid.

hey... 40k is the cringiest immature shit of all gaming.

>how can an adult say they like Warhammer 40K with a straight face
"I like Warhammer 40K".
Like this.

>gaming

I'd say it's even safer. Thousands upon thousands of ships date back to pre-heresy and are just fine. Yeah, if the field breaks- everything's fucked, but it doesn't except for some unlucky fucks ones or twice in 50 years.

I'm not even that much Veeky Forums regular and think you should leave and stay on /tv/

> I'm from /tv/
Don't you have some DC shite to defend?

I like how saying you’re from /tv/ is more effective bait than the actual OP post.

I like 40k, especially because it's dumb and over the top.
Sue me, OP. I dare you.

Obviously, when something *does* go wrong, it makes for a more interesting story than if everything goes as expected. It's the same reason why nobody writes about the thousands of Imperial worlds that aren't war-torn shitholes.
