Actually did an underwater adventure once. The funnest part was the Chadra-Fan sentinel who had his species' usual hydrophobia having to roll Fear checks to keep his shit under control.
Logan Evans
>NJO arc didn't include a Terror from the Deep-flavored Vong invasion story of Mon Cal or Manaan Wasted potential right there.
In X-wing, how should you approach a Trajectory Simulator Nym?
I know you need to come at him from the sides, but how do you do that? Slow roll in a corner and wait for him to commit?
I'm flying Blackout and a pair of Deltas for reference- I never know how to deploy. I tend to just stick the Defenders in one corner, and then put the Silencer on the othwr side and Bail/flank with it, but basically no amount of range control means I can approach Nym head on with Deltas, and chasing him plays into his game.
Any suggestions?
Christopher Cruz
Aesthetically I really liked all the shit in the Mon Cal arc. Shame the eps themselves are just kindof meh for the most part, minus Tamsin or whatever going ham.
Aiden Stewart
I'm looking for some appropriately ominous, preferably darkly lit, Sith pictures. Help me out /swg/
Haven't done an underwater adventure, but I'm going to be running a colony game sometime next year when my group's all up together. They get to pick the biome, including if the settlement is "subterranean". If they pick a water planet that's subterranean, they'll have an underwater colony they're slowly building up. That'd be a fun one if they pick it, it'd be cool to have to come up with underwater scenarios.
Such as this. Not quite Vong but I think the Vong should totally be the plotline for Rian's trilogy. Subvert everyone's expectations again on the premise alone Rian, do it! but the idea of just "there's some really dangerous sapient shit down below, and some really fucked up dangerous shit down where even the light doesn't reach" to act as natives for the colonists to have to fight and/or barter with.
While a cool user is doing an art dump, can I also request some art? I'm looking for a male twi-lek in good quality traveling clothes and a cloak, and a past his prime zabrak, preferably battle scarred and with some cybernetic work done on him. Anything similar would work, really, but the closer the better. Thanks in advance, and heres an imperial waifu in return
Dutch passes out target locks to everybody, Norra uses Marksmanship every turn she could attack, and Jan and Alliance Overhaul give extra die to make it all count, with the occasional focus from Squad Leader to Norra for defense. Meanwhile, Jan and Dutch plink away with autoblasters and stay close to Norra.
-340 mm to 100 mm in front of him from where he starts
-180 mm behind him to 20 mm in front of him from where he starts
That's not more than 80mm of free space(since I didn't factor in the nubs), and Nym himself moves at least 80mm forward each turn, so you need to approach from a side.
How you get to his sides is the problem. Coming in from a 90 degree angle is ideal, since he only has a single non-red hard turn.
In order to get there though, he has to overcommit.
I would set up the deltas facing along your board edge, and do a bunch of 1 banks and barrel rolls to durdle around while Blackout flails around wildly, baiting stuff to chase him. Once he chooses which one he is going for, either send the Deltas in (if he faces Blackout) or 5 straight perpindicular to him to bail with the deltas (If he chooses them)
I have no idea if I am barking up the wrong tree though- can anyone else give suggestions?
Sebastian Williams
You should invest in some more stuff that's worth climbing/jumping/speeding onto/over. Half the units in the game have or can take height related abilities.
Blake Long
I'm picking up some flat roofed buildings from Imperial Terrain soon. Specifically so there's some vertical in the fights. Ground battles with shit flying over head is great.
Elijah Mitchell
You're welcome, user.
Jose Butler
Why do you need Marksmanship here? No-one gets anything useful from a crit result like Maarek does, nor do any of your ships get to attack multiple times per round. In fact, Autoblaster doesn't like Marksmanship.
Why not pretty much any other EPT?
Gavin Johnson
Unfortunately, Imperial Ion is either defenders that cost a lot/are low PS, or is single use.
Then, there's the issue that i do need to approach people to get him off- Not worth much if my 40 point ship eats 1-2 bomblets and a range 1 shot going in anyways-
I'm wondering how I can get shots on Nym with defenders without taking autodamage in the first place. Even assuming I have ion cannon defenders- How the fuck do I approach him without eating a bomblet to the face? Of if it's Rebel Nym, two bomblets?
The issue with this i'm seeing is that nym has Wingmen. On one hand, that wingman can potentially threaten me earlier if nym-slow rolls, but on the other hand, I can do damage to the wingman if nym slow-rolls and sends in his teammates.
Leo Cook
Because it acts as an offensive focus while leaving me free to conserve them defensively, and a guaranteed crit (or two, if marksmanship and alliance overhaul gel correctly) is its own reward.
Hudson Stewart
Just waot until Saw comes out and load her up with R2D2

Any sign of the Dawn of rebellion pdf?
Elijah Gonzalez
Pretty much what said.
Nym is super tough for silencers, not sure if there is a good plan. I would say that you can eat a bomb with 6hp so engaging may not always be wrong.
Typically those lists only run 2 ships so salvo is a viable option. You don't need to fortress, just faff about until he either commits or loses 9-5. Don't feel bad, he's not there to play X-Wing either.
Anthony Bennett
Would the WSG Star Wars rpg playable with 1gm 1 player? Or any SW rpgs for that matter?
Justin Thompson
But I don't want or care about U-Wings or X-Wings.
Carson Wilson
Die.
Brayden Stewart
Now I am not an X-Wing genius, but I fail to see why Marksmanship and Mercenary Co-Pilot would be better than, say, any other Elite Talent and a Recon Specialist.
Eli Sanchez
Anyone have that picture of Rule 63 Krennic, Hux, Thrawn, and Tarkin?
Lucas Miller
It's a funny meme list. I'm not sure what kind of replies you were looking for.

What's the best described planet in Star Wars? Or just FFG?
Julian Young
I went to a Legion demo today. Here are my first-impression observations:
1. The miniatures are made of a higher-quality plastic than I expected. Maybe not quite as good as 40K or WarmaHordes, but a clear step up from Imperial Assault and Rune Wars. Harder and heavier.
2. The trooper minis are a bit bigger than comparable minis from Imperial Assault. Other than the taller bases, it wouldn't be super noticeable except when you have them side-by-side. I took some pictures for comparison -- I'll post them soon, once I've had dinner.
3. The range ruler is utter crap. They should have just done range measurements in inches. The movement tools aren't as bad as the range ruler, but they aren't great. Maybe I'll change my mind about the movement tools with more hands-on experience, but the range ruler is crap. Like, OMG, the range ruler is god-awful.
I'm still not certain if I'm going to buy in. My main concern is faction/model variety. If they announced Clone Wars factions, I would preorder Separatists.
Been mulling over a SW campaign with a focus on the players going to locations in TCW and was wondering what episodes and locations you elegan/tg/entlemen liked?
>The range ruler is utter crap As a piece of plastic yes. As an in-game mechanic, no. >Inches MUH BLASTER HAS 18 INCH RANGE AND IT'S CLEARLY IN RANGE! NO IT ISN'T! YES IT IS LOOK! *bicker* >Range Ruler My blaster can reach your dude *pokes miniature with range ruler* Yeah, fire away
>t.playtester and lifelong 40k player I hate measuring in inches because people love to micro-creep movement and shooting. At least in Legion, you can literally tell a person, 'S'cuse me mate, your unit wasn't against the end of the movement stick.' and then they just remeasure. If they don't you can just slap your own movement tool on the table and be all, 'look cut the shit out and play the game properly for fuck sake'
Charles Young
Anything involving Geonosis, Umbaran, Jabiim, Ryloth, Muunilists, Catonemodia and so forth are usually good bets.
The first four worlds are in TCW show, and the last one is in the Clone Wars cartoons.
Jabiim is the exception, as it's in a comic book.
Felucia is also seen in the TCW.
Chase Peterson
Catoneimodia was (I think) also in TFU 2. If not, whatever planet had those upside down cities in TFU 2. One of the few good things to come out of that game.
Jeremiah Brown
>They should have just done range measurements in inches.
Christ, no thank you.
Joshua Thomas
I was thinking geonosis for sure. I want to bring back the queen and those mind control worms.
Evan Gomez
The faction/model variety: X-wing and Armada had the same problem on launch. Launch meta gets stale quick, and it takes a few waves to heat up. Nothing can be done about that since FFG likes to trickle releases and it's a new game, not the 30 years that 40k has had.
Zachary Gray
The range ruler is just a series of 6" sticks. It's only part of the game so they can put it in the box and tell people they don't need a tape measure or whatever, broken into segments so that it physically fits in the box.
I'm assuming that, like the other games, third party rulers will be OP legal, so I'll just buy a set of 6/12/18/24 inch acrylic rulers.
The only real difference is that everything's in 6" increments rather than being down to the individual inch.
>Nothing can be done about that since FFG likes to trickle releases They're gonna release one or two boxes a month for the first year, I think.
Landon Nelson
>so I'll just buy a set of 6/12/18/24 inch acrylic rulers. Same.
I'm just glad I don't need to deal with micro-creep shitters.
Jason Jenkins
Anons, I need good quality images of the recusant class. so I can photoshop a crashed one, ideally nose first
>that scale bitch there is no way that is correct when we see the two side by side in the film
Legion does look like it's gonna try and stimulate that. Veers/Snowtroopers is coming like less than a month after launch and that'll open up Imperials a lot. Fleet troopers doesn't seem as important for rebels already but will do good, and arguably, Leia is better than Veers for the same price (all her ratings are better, she just has the shittier defense die), and that's like a month after Veers.
And then sometime around a month after that maybe we'll get the battlefield expansion, which will include some new Battle Cards which might shake people up a little, have some new wrinkles to deal with.
Josiah Bell
OK, here is a comparison of an Imperial Assault stormtrooper (left) to Legion. Even accounting for the different thicknesses of bases, the Legion stormtrooper is notably larger.
Look, I'm not a fast painter. In fact, I'm pretty slow, and I hate painting white. Eventually I'm going to get around to painting all my IA stormtroopers, heavy stormtroopers, jet troopers, riot troopers, dewback riders, E-web engineers, and unique troopers. But they haven't ever been a big priority.
Been trying to write up some stats for Holdo after the last thread. Not sure about skills/talents, but I think I've got characteristics down.
>Brawn 2 (No real feats of strength to speak of, aside from kicking that pipe.) >Agility 3 (According to Leia: Princess of Alderaan, Gatalentans are pretty flexible. Holdo's also decent with a blaster and flew the Raddus alright.) >Intellect 4 (PoA also confirms that Holdo is basically an astrogation savant, which she must have been to ram the Supremacy. Also likely has some understanding of naval warfare.) >Cunning 1 (Oblivious to Poe's machinations against her, doesn't even notice Finn and Rose leaving the Raddus.) >Willpower 3 (Completely resistant to Poe's attempts to convince her to share the plan. Also shows no fear when Poe has her at gunpoint or when she's ramming the Supremacy.) >Presence 2 (May be a poor leader, but was on the Apprentice Legislature in her youth, so she must have some public speaking ability.)
Seems good, any talents? What about her skill set?
Cooper Davis
cunning 1 is funny, but all the statblocks for characters FFG has don't have stats lower than their race allows.
but I would give her some serious ranks in astrogation, high ranks in knowledge warfare, keep the low presence, but with multiple ranks of leadership (and a skill that adds setback to social checks)
Oh, maybe a talent that specifically upgrades the difficulty of checks to get information out of her.
She'd be a Nemesis, by the way. I'm thinking about giving her some kind of unique ability, probably something like giving strain to nearby allies to give her some kind of skill bonus.
Colton Clark
I think you could justify ranks in coercion, like 3, since she was good at thugging poe into position.
Jeremiah Nguyen
I've run one a while ago now where the PC's had to basically get their ships pilot (NPC) out of an ISB prison and 'research facility' Lot of submarines shooting torpedos at each other, probably the nastiest, grinding slugfest in living memory, prison riots, shit blowing up everywhere... then crazy experiments in the adjoining Ubiqtorate facility got out and it turned into a screaming nightmare of prototype assassination creatures running around. That actually took 2 full game sessions to complete and left everyone a bit of a shattered mess. It was fun though
What do you want to be better in? Do you feel particularly attached to any Signature Abilities more than others?
Sure. You just buff up the player or give them some NPC allies.
I enjoy FFG's Weik. 200+ years ago, a big ship crashed on the planet, and no help arrived, so the various aliens just had to settle on the planet, ultimately forming a medieval-like society. Technology is rare and generally considered magical, and force-wielding paladins are stationed in the cleared out bridge area of a Star Destroyer that crashed ~20 years ago (the rest of the Star Destroyer being buried under the earth that came up on impact).
Bentley Myers
That looks like a miniature version of the Eidolon base Strike Cruiser variant,
Cooper Hughes
What is the absolute best way to get into FFG Star Wars.
Ryan Morris
This man is right.
Marksmanship is not worth being able to sometimes get a focus on your 1 dice defense anyways.
Carter Jackson
So the Wraith Squadron trilogy has a character mention that they'd be treated worse by the NR as part oc Zsinj's "Illegal combatants" does this mean there was a wartime treaty or at least an unspoken agreement on prisoner exchanges etc in the time between Isard and Thrawn?
Justin Hernandez
>Veers/Snowtroopers >that'll open up Imperials a lot Veers will, snowtroopers are just alright, I don't think they'll be taken over storms though. The flamer is infinitely better than the ion but we've still yet to see how many dice (or die) it gets. If it's like the AT-RT's flamer then 2 black dice per trooper will be really nice.
>Fleet troopers doesn't seem as important Way off base. Fleets are amazing. They get a blast weapon, which if you'd play the game at all you'd know is ridiculously overpowered. Also adding two white dice to the attack per trooper is just as good if not better than blacks and imo I'd rather throw as many dice as possible especially once I start losing miniatures.
Leo Morris
On an unrelated note, what is the format for Coruscant this year?
The rumor I heard was $100 squads, but there's been no confirmation of that.
I really fail to see why anyone in the squad needs marksmanship at all, much less paying for 2 copies
Logan Barnes
You mean the RPG? Grab the Edge of the Empire beginner game and give it a whirl.
Brody Gomez
I'm pleasantly surprised to see an honest attempt to stat her that doesn't just shit on the character.
Jace Sullivan
RPG or miniatures or card games?
Thomas Green
...or Age of Rebellion, or Force and Destiny. Depends on what flavor you want your game to be.
Be sure to get the dice. It'll seem annoying having to buy a set of dice specific to one game, but once you get into the narrative system, you'll wonder how you ever played without them.
Dylan Clark
No clue. I'm hoping it's a meme format just for the lulz.
