Lets discussion potential nerfs or buffs for every faction in the coming FAQ, I'll start >IG >5ppm >removal of 2 shot russes >vets moved to troops >commissars reverted >deathstrike can actually fire reliably
Alexander Collins
I'd expect more HQ limitations and stuff as seen in the Tau book >Spammed HQs limited to 1/detachment like Tyrants. -1 to hit has limitations ala Dalyth Tenet
As well as further nerfing anything Forgeworld into shit
Buffs? Nope.
Xavier Jenkins
>Tau >Riptide spam addressed - 1 per detachment
Nolan Wilson
>Chapter Tactics/Legion Traits extent to everything LIKE EVERY SINGLE OTHER DEX Seriously why is this still a problem?
Wishlisting tier >Chapter Approved FAQ brings Falchion down to ~700 points >Fellblade to ~550 >Astreus to ~500
Joshua Perez
Too hard to guess, but I hope what some user said the other day that Princes/Tyrants/Custodes bike captains getting limited to 1 per detachment comes true.
Hudson Collins
Crossing my fingers fofor +25% point costs on all Craftworld units
Brandon Fisher
Tau player here. I was going to switch to guard after the abomination that was the codex. Now I'm not sure since it looks like they are going to get nerfed.
Hunter Sullivan
>>Chapter Tactics/Legion Traits extent to everything LIKE EVERY SINGLE OTHER DEX Fucking please GW, make it happen
Christopher Mitchell
>Removal of 2 shot Russes Let's not pretend this is the problem. It's how cheap everything is for IG.
>Vets moved to Troops Agreed.
>commissars reverted Sounds good.
>deathstrike can actually fire reliably Hell, I'd like if it were made a certainty that it could actually fire during a game.
Ryder Bailey
>Princes/Tyrants/Custodes bike captains getting limited to 1 per detachment comes true. Likely only things that can hide due to the character rule if anything. Like how battle suit commanders could. Even then I doubt it'll happen; nothing was a shooty/killy immediately after deepstriking
Jaxon Robinson
>playing an army because they are good also the tau codex isnt terrible. Nothing like 7th but its not dogshit.
>Tau player here. I was going to switch to guard please stay on Tau, I'm fucking begging you.
>>Chapter Tactics/Legion Traits extent to everything LIKE EVERY SINGLE OTHER DEX holy fuck YES, dear lord, Ultramarines vehicles would be so much better
Alexander Scott
I switched from Tau to Guard at the start of 8th. Couldn't be happier and would recommend.
What changed in the 8ed that made the Tau more grimdark?
Carter Davis
I was listing shit I expect to happen, I fully expect GW to go full retard and remove 2 shot russes truth be told I doubt vets will be moved to troops and I doubt they will ever buff the deathstrike I have no problems with things being more expensive, I just want them to be GOOD
Cameron Murphy
>he never faced 7+ dakka Flyrant Tyranid lists Be glad you haven't seen that cancer in action.
Carter Phillips
>tfw your army has incredible infantry and tanks >in both offsensive output and cost >regimental doctrines that apply to all vehicles >objective secured on tanks >tanks that shoot twice >cheap and awesome psykers for smite and powers >infinite command points with relic and warlord trait >a whole another level of buffs with orders
Pheromone Trail reworded so it isn't literally useless
Jack Murphy
a roll of 6 should always succeed and a roll of 1 should always fail unless we are talking about armor saves, both 7+ saves and saves negated through AP
I started off with Tau because I liked the minis but playing them really isn't fun since you get no options. Not fond of hordes so I don't like the Codex direction and definitely not jumping to IG.
Jaxson Foster
Thoughts on Thousand Sons and Renegade force? Seems like they cover their weaknesses quite well
Grayson Mitchell
Kinda curious here: Did the Tau open the warp equivalent of a wormhole, found a way into the webway or what? The hell is the Startide Nexus exactly?
David Myers
What is pheromone trail?
Jace Green
>completely switching playstyle and aesthetic
I wonder what could drive someone to do that?
Anthony Fisher
It would be completely typical of GW to remove double-tapping Russes, but allow Eldar to double-tap their Fire Prisms.
Hunter White
What are you on about? I'm telling you lots of people are running 7 or more Flying Hive Tyrants with those guns that have a million shots deepstriking all over and fucking you sideways.
Nicholas Cooper
A shitty codex.
Nathan Kelly
The thing that gets me is it's just expected of them >remove double tap russes >literally only one variant worth using anymore
Oh my bad, I thought you were referring to the 7+ to hit nonsense that Orkz have to put up with
Ryder Cruz
Sounds like the Eldar is your choice then. They have all the options, a lot of mobillity, somewhat elite units, big mechs and the fact that they are the second strongest faction after IG is merely a coincidence.
Gabriel Rogers
At least pick an army of a similar style rather than jumping to the best codex possible.
Oliver Jackson
>Grey Knights Literally nothing changed directly, maybe a point increase on some obscure wargear. Will probably get nerfed with the smite change being approved.
Oliver Perry
Reminder that you should be working. Show me what you're working on other than shitposting.
Currently some experimental rule that GW has told people to try playing with to test it out. Every time you cast smite then next smite cast on your turn has a WC value increased by +1.
Anthony Carter
>he is a casual or doesn't play the game
Parker Ortiz
Not til December apparently
Alexander Carter
I haven’t been home all day. Went to brunch with my buds at texas de brazil(they walk around with meat on swords and serve you until you tell them to stop) then we went bowling and my painting arm hurts.
Jackson Williams
Admech wishlist >kataphron destroyers to 3+ save >all kataphrons to 4 wounds >if not those changes, a point reduction to kataphrons >point reduction for infiltrators and ruststalkers >point reduction for imperial knights >WS/BS 3+ for tech priest enginseers >something other than a fucking laspistol for the enginseer >cybernetica datasmith moved to HQ
Jordan Brown
>not priming inside and bathe in fumes pleb
Joseph Miller
1 CP deepstrike Strat. I'm no bugman but how is that useless? Do you have better deepstriking for infantry?
Justin Harris
>18 months after 8th came out Sasuga, GW, really turning over a new leaf with this edition.
Ayden Hernandez
>other than shitposting. Implying I ever worked on something not shitposting-related
So I have the Dark Imperium Foetid Bloat-Drone and I will be getting three of the boxed versions, because I hate having same looking models, but I have not seen anyone magnetize the weapons. Have any of you user done this?
How are Adeptus Mechanicus? I wanna start Warhammer and they look the coolest but I'm a mildy-competitive person. Not enough to sperg and ree, but what are some of their best options? Thanks
Ayden Robinson
I can honest see double mowers being good if you are running either three Haulers or three Crawlers as the two could tie-up multiple units to allow the rest of the army move up the field
Evan Baker
I have unbuilt drones that I was going to convert. Fuck giving GW $50 for 3 drones and a dude.
Jayden Nguyen
Page 119 – Pheromone Trail Add the following sentence: ‘You cannot use this Stratagem to affect a unit of reinforcements being set up by the Genestealer’s Infestation ability, or that are added to your army due to a unit’s ability.’
Leo Ortiz
>Orks decrease MANZ points or give deepstrike, either as ability or stratagem decrease mega armor built in points cost big decrease in stompa cost give stompa and gorkanaut more reliable dakka numbers flash gits 4+ to match other nob units d6 burnas, or something better than d3 if still d3, points drop for burnaboyz a source of rerolls to something other than charges Last, and Most Importantly, give me an rokkit pack option for my warboss. I don't want to always use Zagstruk.
The point is that they need to be put in reserve to begin with to deeptrike
Everything that can be put in reserves either has deepstrike (Tyrgons, flyers) , has to come in via a tunnel (Anything put in a Trygon/Ravener Tunnel) or got FAQ'd out of benifiting from the Stratagem (Genesteaers) thus meaning that it has literally no benefit
Carter Sanchez
interesting, how are you gonna convert them? glue a pulse rifle below instead of the normal stuff?
Austin Gray
Citation needed.
They said at the launch of 8th that we'd see every codex within 12 months (and that was July 2017)
Andrew Evans
>flash gitz still don't have a 4+ save the fuck was the point of removing their 4+ save
Jason Thompson
>They said at the launch of 8th that we'd see every codex within 12 months (and that was July 2017) False, stop spreading this lie
Leo Baker
Risking overwatch and not having auto-hit is a big downside in practice.
Easton Sanders
Markerlight drone with a pulse rifle. Add extra sensor bits for fluff.
Kayden Brown
nice, post pics when done
Aiden Carter
WTF, so what can use it then?
Blake Sullivan
GW probably thought it better represented them wearing pirate clothes, but really it just better represents them being shit.
Jose Price
Anything that can already deepstrike.
Luis Kelly
Who's left?
Orks Deldar GSC Furries
We could have all those in 3 months easy. What new armies could they possibly include? I'm thinking >World Eaters >Slaanesh CSM >Dark Mechanicus
Parker Taylor
this
Joshua Nguyen
at the very least it should be a 5+ save then Flash Gitz have a BS4+ right? or is it reroll 1s?
Alexander Jones
I might of course be wrong, but a lot of missions require you to start with regular troops in reserve with a mechanic for when they come on the table.
BS4+ and their ammo runts give reroll a single 1 per runt. Offense isn't their problem, other than only really being good against things properly hurt by D1 in that respect, loots are far superior even if they're BS5+
Aiden Scott
None of which can be put in reserve so thus can't use the strat
Christian Parker
>Orks >Deldar >GSC >Furries
+ Knights Harlequins Deathwatch Inquisition/SoBs
Isaac Ross
hopefully EC and WE get codexes in the next few months
There's no reason why GW can't put out two per month and be done in 4 months.
Adrian Bailey
In case you need proof Article date July 2017, question 4 >Even with the pace we’re planning on releases these new codexes, it’s going to take well over a year to get to all of them >well over a year >well over a year >well over a year
Jaxon Lopez
Is it still worth getting into 40k as a newbie? I always wanted to when I was younger and broke. Now I have a high paying job and a lot of free time on my hands but I don't know how to play it at all. I have no idea where to start or which faction to pick, or how to build a competitive army. And what is the community like? I'm really interested in the modeling aspect but desu I'm kinda worried that the local gaming club is going to be filled with unwashed omega males. Also the nearest gaming club is like an hour and a half away.
