>want a fluffy rubric heavy 1ks army
>build up my rubrics and use sorcs with them against my friends ba primaris
>rubrics melt away and can hardly do anything to the primaris

this pains me so, I think I might have to invest in the birdmen

The baby knight is going to be a more expensive dreadnought. Wait and see.

In for card guard

Fourth for the Dark City!

Attached: TalosPainEngine.jpg (371x583, 113K)

Is there a bigger hybrid tax payer in the game than rubrics?
>pay for unit that is in theory a shooty-psychic-tanky-melee unit with toys and gimmicks for days
>can't actually do anything it is supposed to be doing

So, looking at this, instead of Lychguard and Immortals I could make them Praetorians and Deathmarks instead? Is that right?

What are people expecting it to be? A skimmer?

>bought a fucking coldstar
>now I have 13 fucking crisis suit variations.
Why do I continue to do this to myself Veeky Forums
I could have bought a broadside but instead I bought ANOTHER crisis suit

Yeah

You mean it isn't going to be a less expensive tactical marine?

Rubrics aren't amazing, but they should be able to stand up to Primaris Marines at least.

Man you really took the fire caste propaganda hook, line and sinker.

I'm only using Broadsides because I already own four. I didn't get to use them at all in the index, past the first time I tried them and they all died horribly. Coldstars will be good for a while at least, you didn't lose out on much.

raven guard or Blood angels against Death Guard?

>against my friends ba primaris
The problem is you not your rules.

Need to play that again. Was really cool.

Somewhere between a dread and a knight would be nice but I'm expecting it to basically be a reskinned contemptor with worse ws/bs

I wonder how things would have gone if 8e had made weapons flow wounds over from dude to dude like AoS does (Likely with an exception for specialist anti-tank weapons like Meltaguns and Lascannons). 1d3 wound melee weapons are a very situational thing right now.

For some reason I didn't consider this. That makes the box way more appealing to me even though deathmarks will be forever terrible

Learn to position or get a rhino. Rubrics are shit in melee and always have been.

Working on an urban/infantry tank style russ chassis and this is what I've got so far. Any thoughts, or is it shit and I should just use the generic russ body?

>inb4 russ's get hard nerfed without any reduction in points

Attached: fsulVII.jpg (4275x2405, 814K)

Nobody would use anything but lascannon equivalents.

I've got a small local tournament at the end of the month, 1500 points, no forgeworld. I had settled on this list, but I've not actually had chance to play it against a serious army yet, and I'm starting to think it may a bit short on bodies as every model is carrying a special or heavy weapon. On the other hand, I don't know what could be droppped anyway.

I am curious about the Babby Knight. They look rather cool and I'm tempted to get one or two to add to my SOB force since they won't eat up the sheer points of a full ok knight.

>Deldar hellions, 14" movement.
>Flayed ones, 5" movement.

>Hellions, 2d6" charge
>Flayed ones , 2d6" charge

I get they can't make melee too mobile, but it seems odd dudes flying around on Green Goblin boards can't charge further than shambling robuts.

>Was gonna sell my escalation League Necrons and do Tau
>New Necron codex is giving me pause

I may just wait and see before the final decision, as is, Necron durability swings too much or flat out doesn’t occur

Yeah, hence the 'exception for specialist anti-tank weapons'.

Probably because you're supposed to use that 14" move to get close enough to the target to charge, user

NECRON CODEX FULL LEAK GET ON THERE BEFORE IT'S TAKEN DOWN

youtu.be/hqVO6ez4xFU

It would get kinda goofy if the had movement count double for getting into melee (Once when moving, once when charging). Keeping it a static value was also likely an attempt to avoid T1 charges being reliable (Which hasn't quite worked out but still).

What about sticking a massive turret on a rhino makes that a more urban/infantry tank exactly?

I literally only bought it because I want to run it as a farsight enclave 4x fusion blaster fusion blades monster, despite already owning an enforcer commander with a fusion blades conversion (but he's painted bork'an), and I'm planning on making all of the eight at some point, including brightsword, who also has fusion blades, and I recently bought a start collecting a few months ago and made one of the crisis suits into a bork'an colourscheme (this was before the codex was announced) 4x fusion blaster iridium suit commander. So I'll have 3 models all with the same 1 per army relic, and I'll have at least one more model made to cover the exact same niche.
I genuinely have a fucking problem. It's not even like you can take crisis suits as troops in 8ed, and now commanders are limited too.
God I'm retarded.
It'll be a really fun project though, I'll try something different with this guy's fusion blades.

>Full leak
>no fluff
>no showcase

fuck right off

Nobody gives a shit about fluff until it's out, only the rules matter in advance.

Attached: mhh59ecNAL1qein3eo2_1280.jpg (600x428, 59K)

You can always sell some of the excess, man. Make it a Broadside fund.

rules never matter, WAACfaggot, piss off

It's rhino tracks/sides with a Russ central hull. It's wider than either and looks like a chunky boy. I thought it looked slow, fat, and heavy sort of in the same sense as a Matilda or Churchill

its only a couple weeks of a wait, i'd go ahead and hold out

>solarmills? charge!

jesus christ how fucking embarrassing

so that's what GW calls "humor" huh?

well that's one codex I won't be buying no matter what

>cryptek can either buff hoards or be a fixer
i like it!

I mean, it's blunt, but at least it's referencing the classics, it's not a fucking meme or pop culture reference.

I'm not the best with list building and I'm slightly confused about the equipment choice of Infantry Squad sergeants.
Can I equip my sergeant with a lasgun instead of a laspistol?

Attached: 99120105039_CadianShockTroopsNEW01.jpg (920x950, 99K)

>Lychguard, a bodyguard unit, are troops
>Deathmarks, deep striking assassins disdained in use against honourable foes, are troops

What???

I mean don't get me wrong, I appreciate being able to get lots of command points when building quirky theme lists, but what?

kinda cool. needs a short and fat gun on the front turret.

Rules are more important to casuals than WAACfags. A casual needs all the rules, and wants them to be as balanced as possible.

A WAACfag only needs to know which unit is the most broken and Spammable.

Nope, shit's stupid. You can give him a Boltgun for a single point, I can't see why you wouldn't unless you're utterly desperate for points.

Why do you think you can?

I feel like coldstars are obliged to be posed dynamically as fuck. I'm thinking that anime thing where they kinda cross their energy swords in front of them as they're dashing forwards

Attached: K67pwwn.jpg (2448x2448, 397K)

Detroit ?

Because he's designated grenade thrower.

>/
Solution: Stop playing Imperial Tard.

>the sergeant may replace their laspistol with an item from the ranged weapons list

Lasgun is not on that list.

I tried to pose my guy like he's in the midst of dashing/taking off...but he looks more like he's falling over now. I honestly might get another Coldstar at some point to try again rather than fight with old cement.

What the fuck am I reading

>not having a designated Grenadier Greg in every squad
It doesn't matter if they all have grenades, only Greg gets to throw them. If he bites it, no more grenades get thrown.
This is basic shit, user.

What are you going to do, have none-designated guy throw a grenade and waste his 4 S3 shots for d6 s3 shots?

just give him a boltgun.

I'd wait unless you're going to get some crazy deal on them between now and Codex Necrons

That's the plan, for the most part. Also going to be using a plow, just haven't decided between 3rd party or the basic GW ones that come in the russ kit.

>not wanting Necron Quixote
fuck you

>Mfw the other Russ variants don't get fixed

Attached: i_am_a_pious_man.jpg (1000x656, 386K)

>Destroyers now Heavy 3 and can reroll to hit and to wound for 1CP
>Wraiths now can retreat and charge, gained -2 AP and D2

Holy shit

I hope it doesn't cost more than 140-160. Judging by its visible loadout its going to have similar firepower to a dread, which makes it worth way less than 200.

>implying

Eat shit waacfag

Any word on these boys? I always liked them (aside from their $$$ price) and if were to run Necrons I'd be fielding lots of them.

Attached: m2370232a_99800110014_DestroyerLordUpgrades01_445x319.jpg (400x287, 21K)

Name a single foe that the Necrons consider honorable.

Other Necrons.

Pretty much. Dynasty in-fighting was the norm during their prime.

>873.M41 THE WIDOW’S SPIRAL

>The feuding Rytak and Kayra Dynasties each despatch Deathmarks to eradicate the other’s court. Such is their success, both worlds are left leaderless.

>Necrons are a bunch of team-killing fucktards
Minotaurs confirmed for Necron successors.

wtf I love necrons now.

That's why you give the sarge a boltgun and have a trooper throw grenades

Attached: image.jpg (360x360, 25K)

see
their aura no longer effects them, but you cna give them a relic that means they wound on 2's (so hit on 2's, re-roll 1s. wounds on 2s ap -4 dam 3)

Hey user, could you please not assume I'm a WAAC fag, only because I play Guard? I'd just like a good reason to run Vanquishers and Exterminators.

Depends on the Overlord in question.

Some have a stick up their bum about honour and will wait for the first evidence it isn't there before sending Deathmarks.

Some don't give a shit, unless the Triarchs (Necron CIA) butt their nose in and force them to.

Obyron is a looney and thinks all his opponents are rival kings from the time before the war in heaven.

Reminder to all Tau players that Ionheads > Railsides > Railheads now.

>guardfag
>not a waacfag
Doesn't check out, eat shit.

Those other Necrons had no honour, they sent Deathmarks after us.

I would drop 2 Seraphim and a combi weapon somewhere to try and bag another Imagifier for your Retributors.
List is food otherwise.

What army do you play?

It still does.

>Obyron is a looney and thinks all his opponents are rival kings from the time before the war in heaven.
You're thinking Zandrekh, Obi is his bodyguard.

I'll take "none, because there would be a possibility to win" for 500

>Mfw
Is he just like, robo senile?

Attached: thY2VML52T.jpg (247x252, 7K)

pretty much

I like him, he's a fun guy

Ahh,yeah my mistake

I'm pretty new to 40k fluff, but after reading about him, fuck yeah he does, 10/10 Character

So they just made Tau alpha strike even stronger

>6 crisis suits with 3 CIB each
>576 points
>farsight enclave stratagem to get +1 hit
>command node to reroll wounds

Vs Imperial Knight - 39.366 damage
Vs Magnus - 31.104 damage
Vs Mortarion - 46.656 damage
Vs T7/3+ - 46.656 damage
Vs T8/3+ - 39.366 damage
Vs T8/2+ - 26.244 damage

Pretty much. When they went into their extended sleep a fairly large portion of the Crons with personalities went bonkers. Zandrekh got off relatively easy as he's still a tactical genius, and his insanity makes him sort of endearing imo

Learn how to screen.

just shut the fuck up forever, stop showing off your shitty sense of humor like it's something to be proud of

jesus christ

Jesus user, did someone piss in your cereal this morning?

>endearing
worst trait a necron could have
