Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where nobody has time to think about the impending annexation of humanity into an intergalactic empire, they've got their own problems to deal with.
What new additions and changes would you like to get in the acontacimento option explosion?
Aaron Rogers
A new planet, because the old one is gone.
Oliver Ward
I want the planet to change into a fine dust cloud.
Ayden Young
Raiden, Oniwaban and Aragoto.
Andrew Hughes
Sectorial explodes, Shock Army units find themselves spread between MO, NCA, and the new Varuna.
Josiah Jones
Regulars, Bagh-Mari and Tikbalang could go to Varuna. Montesas are already way ahead in the MO. The rest go to NCA.
Bentley Wright
This but make them a NA2 sectorial instead and add a few units into other merc armies and watch PanO players crawl ouf of the woodwork and say "we were joking all these years, ASA wasn't actually shit and everyone played some units in vanilla, we never believer it could happen to our faction, y u do dis cb"
Colton Parker
"Just buy, like, £100 worth of new stuff and you can still use your Japanese units. Ok except for those ones."
The Tikbalang is one of the best TAGs desu senpai, the Akals are the best drop troop for low bucks that we can get, the regulars are better cheerleaders if you want them to be specialists, dragao is a unique weapon option. But I don't think too many people use this in vanilla.
Henry Rivera
Or just use them as proxies?
Logan Davis
...I play ASA almost exclusivly.
Colton Garcia
>proxy I'd rather bite my own limbs off.
Wyatt Ramirez
Not using proxies in infinity, and they call slavposting shit 0_o .
I wonder what kind of a collection of yu jing models and jsa stuff one would have to have to not be able to start Ikari, just by buying the JSA starter or not buying a god damn thing, if you actually have more just a raiden and a single keisotsu Lt.
Nolan Mitchell
The only unit I could see myself crying for if it happened would be Tikbalang. It would be a great loss, but pretty much nothing else from ASA is very useful in vanilla. Regulars or Bagh-Mari? I've got Fusiliers and Nisses. GdA or Montesa? Don't make me laugh, for those points I can get a Father-Knight or a Swiss. Losing Akalis would suck, but going by Red Veil Ninja they would probably be AVA 1 in PanO and I usually don't need more than one. Not to mention Cube Jager or Crusader can do their job. Dragao would mean loss of HMC, but it's not like Squalo or Jotum don't exist.
If there is someone who uses ASA units in generic PanO extensively outside of Tikbalang (which I admit is one of my fav PanO units) or Akali I'd like to hear them.
William Watson
Akalis would be missed and bitterly complained about. Probably Tiks as well to a lesser extent. Everything else is primarily a sectorial linking troop (Regulars and Bagh-Mari) or is big and expensive without being a common mainstay (HI and TAGs). Guarda and Montesa are pricey enough that they look at first glance like the sort of thing you'd have to trade in your Swiss Guard for, and the TAGs are PanO TAGs with all the intense competition that implies (though Tik is close to the top of that pile so she sees some more use). JSA was more about cheaper unlinked shit that can be used to supplement the standard Hac Tao, Hsien, etc. instead of replacing it. Some stuff like Kempeitai and Haramaki was designed purely for sectorial use, but they were the minority.
And there'd probably be more to miss if there was more in general. ASA has only 7 units that can be used in vanilla, and more than half of those are premium HI or TAGs. Works out okay in sectorial because of link quality and good synergy (not to mention Nagas on loan from another faction), but it doesn't leave so much of a footprint in vanilla.
Most people have the support pack and attack bots, but Karakuri are pretty rare and I know some people who were holding out for a Keisotsu resculpt to get non-ancient sculpts. Wu Ming tend not to be taken unless the player is also ISS, though there is a lot of overlap between that and vanilla. Daiyokai and Tankos don't even exist yet, and the Haramaki that the latter are replacing were incredibly rare in vanilla. Raiden, Oniwaban, Aragoto, Domaru and Shikami are all absent from Ikari, that's the majority of vanilla Japs.
Nathan Myers
It's one thing to proxy dude with a spitfire for the same dude with a BSG and another to proxy a Pheasant for a Celestial Guard. I just want to look at a table and see what shit is what without having to refer to a fucking handwritten guide which model in the hodge-podge proxies for what. If there's no model for the statline yet that's fine, but if it exist you should just pony up and buy the damn model.
Liam Lewis
Is Acon the tightest sectorial out there with the least units?
Noah Brown
That would be Druze, but I don't think ASA is far behind.
Evan Gutierrez
Regulars are better paramedics for specialist cheerleaders. The Bagh Mari on the other hand are pretty unusable in vanilla.
Brandon Sullivan
>Not using proxies in infinity, and they call slavposting shit 0_o . 1. Not wanting to proxy in own army != super-strict store "GTFO unless you have a 100% WYSIWYG army, reee" store/club rules.
2. Slavposting is shit.
Brody Morales
>ASA - 26 unit entires >all Ariadna sectorials - 17 or 18 unit entires >Haqq sectorials - 24/25 unit entires >CA sectorials - 22, 24 and 26 unit entires >Druze sectorial - 19 unit entires
Brayden Carter
They should just give the Guarda de Assaulto smoke grenades on its auxbot. Bam, useful unit and it's price keeps it from being spammed willy-nilly. Throw Courage on if you're feeling really fancy.
Luis Davis
This nigga gets it. Same. Funniest part is, I wanted to look for another army and was interested in YJ, since Vedic will never come. Now, I'm not sure if I like JSA more or YJ vanilla...
Landon Bell
In Vanilla I'd miss the Tikbalang and the Dragao the most, I think. Bagh-mari can sorta work as a budget Nisse if you're really tight on points or desperatly need a Minelayer, but that's already a stretch. I also *really* try to like the Guarda (it was my first Infinity mini), but it's mostly kinda pointless.
David Young
My new JSA color scheme. I wanted to paint something eyefuckingly garish.
The sad thing would be that that doesn't combo with Acon because it has only one extremely expensive MSV2 and would cost 95 points. Eclipse is otherwise just better to cover your approach.
Kevin Taylor
3 of the ASA unit entries are Steel Phalanx characters. All of the Ariadna Sectorials have less entries because they don't have 4 basic drones and drone helper types.
Joseph Morris
Why not both types of nades?
Chase Baker
Why though?
Christian Gonzalez
I like that orange brown that you have on the dossier. The Yellow should be replaced by that, and the orange brown replaced with a light medium grey.
Luckily laziness stopped me from repainting my Keisotsu into the vanilla Yu Jing scheme.
Angel Lopez
If you want to like Guarda, play some ASA. He's easier to use there with the KHD Naga to beat off hackers, and you're not as tempted to hop right back on the Swiss Guard dick and play a bunch of cookie cutter shit. He takes some finesse, but once you get the hang of him he's a goddamn fantastic unit. It mostly comes down to knowing when to gang up, when to smoke+fire and when to split fire. Also when to use the flamer and shotgun together, that's a real fun trick. I'd suggest starting out with the multi rifle as the similar range bands make it easier for both brothers to attack together, having your big guy split into 2 separate units each with their own collection of tools can take some getting used to.
PanO has 12 support units overall (doc+engi, Tech-Bee, Warcor and 8 bots) while CA has 9 (7 bots, Doctor Worm and Bit), Haqq has 8 (6 bots, engineer and Warcor) and Ariadna has a grand total of 5 (doc+engi, Warcor, Wardriver and their one token bot). That goes some way towards explaining the numbers, though as you said the Steel Phallus characters also bloat the numbers a bit.
Nicholas Wilson
my yj color scheme started out with shen ce style black with turquoise but black looks like shit so I've changed to priming white and doing turquoise armor, gray-black fabric and trim, and gold metal and artificial muscle.
- because fuck official CB schemes - because I wanted something bright and not camoed in any way Except maybe Ryuken, we'll see abut that - because the orange ties them to my Yu Jing because I refluffed my JSA as loyalists, fuck the uprising - because it'll be good practice for painting my Nomads in a full retard fluo scheme
That would be good advice, but you seem to assume I want something sane that doesn't rape my opponent's eye sockets.
Landon Thomas
I was under the assumption you wanted to evolve the JSA to JLA (Japanese Loyalist Army).
But if bold is your goal here, why not a bright to medium dark red and have that orange brown for accent colors? Eyesore Lemon yellow with orange trim is just needlessly harder to paint up.
Nicholas Cook
Corvus Belli should have just halved the AVA of all the JSA units in generic Yu Jing, rounding up to one except for Yuriko, the Kempeitei, Domaru, and other characters and kept Raiden as a loyalist regiment, reduce AVA of Keisotsu to 3 or 4, then still do the rest of the stuff JSA gets in NA2 and the starter pack.
If the Japanese are all doing their secessionist thing on earth, the ones that were spread out in the human sphere should have still stayed in remnants of the Human Sphere with the State Empire Army.
Jonathan Morales
>Yu Jing because I refluffed my JSA as loyalists, fuck the uprising I was thinking of doing this if I caved and bought the box, but the army composition and new profiles didn't wow me enough. Make sure to proxy your Kempeitai with Pheasant Agents during friendly games.
Andrew Brown
Most Japanese evacuated to Earth and I believe those that didn't will not bet trusted in the army, at least not to form their own regiments, but regular YJ ones instead.
Charles Thompson
>needlessly harder to paint up That's part of the point, to learn yellow. I think a whole sectorial will do it nicely and probably also make me hate it to the point that I'd rather piss on my models instead
Also, unused advice might end up in my vanilla YJ when I paint it, not like I'm in a hurry ;_;
>Make sure to proxy your Kempeitai with Pheasant Agents during friendly games. Oooh, good idea. I was at a loss about refluffing the Kempeitai. And the pretty sniper Pheasant will be fielded like 100x more often this way.
Ryder King
Somebody in the Kickstarter comments asked if the YJ book was going to take Uprising into account, and the answer was yes. Hopefully they'll have two Japanese lifepaths, one for pre-Uprising and one for post (including loyalist option, maybe).
Austin Hall
>Yu Jing book delayed another year
Carson Howard
>it's just a life event and a step 2 "faction"-choice entry
Jonathan Nguyen
With the new proxy rules he can run the Pheasants as Kemp in a tournament if he wants.
Colton Jones
*if the TO allows it*
Christopher Jackson
Any player let alone TO who's brain is too smooth to comprehend the idea of using Pheasants as Kempetei is best avoided anyways.
Jaxon Martinez
If you know a player or a TO who would forbid such a proxy then I legitimately feel sorry for you.
Jaxson Lee
Then why would they even be in the Yu Jing book. They can fuck off and take up space in their own book
Matthew Stewart
Your tears over smoke when you already have it are delicious.
James Taylor
Cb intentionally denies Smoke to PanO so they cannot make Smoke Combo. Giving Guarda de Assalto Eclipse Smoke was intentioanlly cruel.
And the we say things about Yu Jing...
Brandon Wright
>Hopefully they'll have two Japanese lifepaths, one for pre-Uprising and one for post (including loyalist option, maybe).
user, the whole "Loyalist" thing has never been said in any official CB article, video, seminar, blog, facebook, twitter, tumbler, chat window apart from wishful thinking by people like you.
Isn't it blatantly obvious yet that the Japanese have left Yu Jing? Do you really think that the whole point of the Uprising campaign through all the internetz is finally gonna be an awkward puny fluff "option" when playing with the miniatures?
How hard does Veeky Forums has to hit you in the head until you finally accept it?
Sooo... the whole plot twist should be title something like:
-"Uprising but no so much because we are really in a middle gray area with beige alert if you want to look it like that"
Yeah, I can see the impact.
Luke Jones
>every single Japanese person in the Sphere agrees with the separatist movement >none of them would stay in YJ I wonder who could be behind this post.
Ethan Evans
Go away wokou, no one wants to join you after the mass executions. People will prefer the "evil" they know.
Jackson Price
So chink worshipers are upset JSA isn't now humiliated? Did Corvus decide to make money in Japan?
Jaxson Moore
I think it has more to do with CB (unsurprisingly) being huge weebs.
Owen Miller
>JSA isn't now humiliated As if. They're just humiliated by their own now.
Owen Phillips
Some say that CB is entering the Japanese market now and the Japanese couldn't stand the narrative of being second class citizens in a manga inspired game.
Justin Reed
Sounds like bullshit to me, I doubt they would make an entire expansion just to appease imaginary jap problems.
Jayden Williams
Aren't that a pretty common theme in animu?
Michael Hall
I dunno, judging by their media they seem to love the stoically oppressed warrior trope.
Austin Parker
Does Japan have a market for tabletop wargames? I have no idea how popular they are over there.
Asher Morris
>when playing with the miniatures? They're talking about the RPG, where having "you remained loyal during the Uprising, knock a point or two off your status and take these limits to your Career options" is a perfectly logical thing to do.
Juan Thompson
It exists, but it's not terribly big. Apparently there is some room for growth though, since GW is also pushing that market.
Nicholas Ramirez
Yeah, why would they change the fluff to enter into selling into a major economy. Keep the lore that Japs are slaves to China.
Elijah Wright
not sure about the user, but in the euro zone the yellow colour was always identified with cowards and betrayers. That is why nazis made jews were yellow stars, Judas always wore yellow and Bohemian jews are often depiced as having yellow hats.
Anyone who is a true son of Nippon.
Isaiah Russell
So why didn't they change the fluff so that Russians and Americans aren't retarded rednecks? Last I heard it's played well in those areas. This corporate conspiracy bullshit is just silly.
Wyatt Lewis
i dunno what you're talking about, ariadna appeals pretty strongly to tacticool milwank dweebs who are a pretty big part of the wargame community. imperial guard are the same way.
even if they were seen as retarded rednecks that doesn't strike the kind of nerve that being subjugated by china would in japan
Luke Martin
>Keep the lore that Japs are slaves to China. Exactly, Jap market < Chink market.
>in the euro zone the yellow colour was always identified with cowards and betrayers Hahaha it's getting better and better.
Michael Bailey
GW has tried and failed in the past, but I think they're squeezing in this time with the smaller box sets and characters.
Japan is a hard market because you (well, GW, CB probably can) can't compete against Gundam on models, and apparently it's so densely populated in the cities space for gaming tables at a store is just grossly impractical.
Nathaniel Cook
Can't go after the chink market now, not with a game called iNfiNity.
Oliver Murphy
GW didn't suceed at japan. I know that M:TG did succeed but in a few years the japs inmediatly made their own anime card games and claimed the spot.
Grayson Jackson
Oh you.
William Miller
underated post.
Nathan Rogers
>Anyone who is a true son of Nippon. Sorry man, I was born in Kume.
Parker Williams
>Exactly, Jap market < Chink market.
Outside of HK, i don't think that chinese are pretty big on wargame market. (The only thing i know there's some small warhammer club in Shanghai and some cluster of historical wargamer in Beijing).
And most of my chink friends, some of them from HK, are playing PanO. So its like "why bother?"
>in the euro zone the yellow colour was always identified with cowards and betrayers
And whats make the orange then? Mildly coward?
Henry Flores
deadest thread, Tanko profiles when? what could possibly justify AVA3? Also, spitfire kemp + 4 keisostsu link worth? Or is the marksman/msv2 profile better?
Cooper Hill
Tanko profiles will probably hit with the rest of JSA later this month, unless they hold them back for some dumb reason. Bostria mentioned that they will get models sometimes later this year though.
Hudson Wood
Basically Haramaki without Blitzen. or ML and an additional SMG option for around 23-24 points. So probably has a different level of impetuous, but possibly not.
Kind of not much room for Tabletop Wargames in the major population centers. Like actual physical room. The most GW's been pushing were some casual sets and an "adventure" game.
Source: URANUS.
Implying GDA aren't Karakuri levels of secretly overpowered but often overlooked because of model quality.
Austin White
I currently live in Japan and can confirm there is a large table top community but people prefer to paint than play. Next time I'm at my LGS I'll take some snaps.
Infinity is still very small, GW has a bigger presence but not as big.
Brandon Watson
Lookin for advice on expansion avenues for YJ. I'm new, so my selection is limited. I've got like one list with options for the showpiece HI, but I can't really budge on the meat of the list which probably limits some of those HI choices, support-wise.
>3 combi Zhanshi >1 Combi Tiger Soldier >1 multi Zuyong >1 HMG Hsien >1 HMC Yan Huo >1 Su-Jian >1 Combi Guilang >1 Husong Yaokong (The TR bot) >1 Weibing Yaokong (The FO bot) >4 Shaolin
With an eye for immediate fun options to diversify my lists, what should I get next? I'm okay proxying to a limited degree (Like spitfire on the tiger soldier) but I prefer not to proxy entire units.
Well you've got a solid foundation there. Here are a few other mainstays:
Lu Duan and Rui Shi remote box is really great. The Rui Shi is one of the best MSV2 units in the game and is cheap as hell, the Lu Duan is great too due to Holo Echos granting surprise shot to really solid weapons. Support pack for your basic Zhanshi doctor/engineer you'll be taking a lot along with helper remotes. Kanren and Ninja will both give you more mid-field infiltration options if you want to help your Guilangs out. If you can split Dire Foes with someone then Xi Zhuang is great. Perimeter weapons, 14 WIP FO, Flamethrower is a lot for 20 points. Kuang Shi are one of the best cheerleaders in the game, they let YJ bring lots of their expensive toys because of the cheap orders. If you want to get into ISS, definitely pick up the ISS Starter, Kuang Shi, and some proxy for the Sophotect. I think the Chandra Spec Ops or Dactyl Engineer are great for that so you don't need to buy useless Netrods.
Juan White
Kanren's not a bad choice. Mid level skirmisher, cheap blister. Lots of utility.
You'll also want an engineer for your remotes (and Su-Jian). I'd normally suggest the JSA support pack because they look better and are in game cheaper, but I guess you should get the regular YJ support pack, or perhaps a Spec-Ops.
Also, a little more niche, but the Red fury Pheasant Rank. She gives you some assurance because the Hsien, Zuyong, and Yan Huo tend to be be useful as aggressive Lt's and works well for late game objective grabbing. Of course it takes a bit of care to use the model as the price tag in game is a bit high for one wound.
Those four Shaolin Monks and the tiger soldier are begging me for suggesting both other Yu Jing Remotes boxes, but more over the Panguling box that way you get EVO to boost your remotes and Tiger Soldier's drop.
The Rui Shi/Lu Duan box should also be on your wish list for that cheaper MSV2. But likely much later.
So, TL;DR top suggestions would be Kanren, Panguling remotes Box, and some engineer from either Spec-Ops or the YJ support pack.
Landon Perez
Is there any news yet on if I can just shelf my Aragoto?
Ian Ross
Bostria said they were getting resculpts. So they'll be in JSA, I guess.
James Rodriguez
Everything is saying YJ loses all units besides the Ninja. If you plat new JSA you'll be fine, but otherwise find someone getting into it and then sell them off.
Jeremiah Thomas
and YJ isn't getting a bike unit they can be proxied as soon, I am guessing.
Shame, spent a lot of time on those models and really liked them...
Ethan Bell
>Everything is saying YJ loses all units besides the Ninja. Everything except Bostria, he just said "many units".
Well, you could start another faction if you have the money, but your scheme won't match if you painted them to fit in with the regular YJ guys.
Oliver Nguyen
>but your scheme won't match if you painted them to fit in with the regular YJ guys. that's exactly the problem. I don't really have that much time to paint these days and I am not really keen on repainting or having two armies with the samme colour scheme. For regular infantry it's not much of an issue really as you can easily proxy them as something else in most cases, but bikes...
Benjamin Young
He said at a video at Rumble and some Spanish tournament that it's everything but the Ninja, unfortunately. We are supposed to get an article sometime this week about it, but it will probably just be "sorry you're losing all these things".
Jordan Robinson
Biker ABHs in ISS?
Daniel Flores
This, it's in here.
Caleb Hughes
>in ISS? Or vanilla, forgot vanilla gets them too.
Josiah Davis
Honestly, except for the new inquisitor guy, the new characters make me less interested in Aristeia
Jacob Hill
Why is that?
Brandon Sanchez
>deploy sniper ABH onto board with Aragoto model because of a 1/20 roll >immediately use irregular order to dismount and switch out model for some S2 one I'm not sure user will get the most mileage out of them in that role.
Leo Kelly
There's a lot of false sons of Nippon out there. There's a bunch even within the new JSA, that's why the Kempeitai are constantly torturing and executing their own people.
Jordan Walker
I dunno. Some of it like multair and taowu look stupid. Also just too much overwatch inspired characters.
This is a general Aristeia thing, but I'm also not a huge fan of Kenny Ruiz's style for some of the characters. He's talented af, but it's just not my favorite especially when you compare it to some of the other art they have.
