>yes, we are ubermensch rulers of undead kingdom animated by Nagash's twisted magic >no, we are nothing like vampires, who are ubermensch rulers of undead kingdoms animated by Nagash's twisted magic
Brody Taylor
No, they are skeletons. A very, very different thing.
Kings themselves are mummies, completely free willed and more powerful than regular humans
Bentley Moore
is this Settra or some random kang?
Julian Reed
>there are human halflings (halflings) >there are orc halflings (goblins) >there are lizardman halflings (skinks) where are dwarf and elf halflings?
Wyatt Russell
You know that the idea of a halfling in warhammer encompasses more than just being small, right?
Parker Wood
Dwarf halflings are Skaven. You also forgot Gor halflings (Ungor), and Norse halflings (Imperials)
Bentley Perez
Norse haflings are Dwarfs, since both share nordic names, horned helmets, furs, runes, love for booze, beards, perverse interpretation of honor and axes
Ryan Powell
yeah, small and hungry, always-always hungry goblins are probably hungry, I dunno, orcs probably take most food skinks... no idea, I'm not big on lizardmen lore
dwarfs are hungry for beer, so it checks out
skaven are taller than dwarfs when they don't hunch
Samuel Russell
And resistance to chaos. And cooking, thievery, though that might be superstitions, their chattiness and clanish nature, the fact that they can be pretty brave compared to goblins and skinks or kick some vampire arse.
Jose Reed
Is Orion a demigod, an avatar, a daemon prince or a beastman?
David Perez
They are GW's attempt to cash in on the Mummy fad of 99.
Liam Ramirez
an autonomous avatar
Cooper Martin
To be fair, it's pretty great to have more than one undead faction. Not even an undead-fag myself, but I like some diversity.
Julian Kelly
I‘d touch it with my 1ft spear if you catch my drift
IotD is the tiny one at the base of the vortex the rest of the picture is Ulthuan
Landon Brown
I keep hearing that the RPGs aren't canon because Karl-Franz dies in The Enemy Within. However, WFRP is also the first appearance of Khorne and Nurgle. What does this mean? Did Khorne and Nurgle only become canon when they appeared in WFB?
Tyler Hall
or maybe current KF is just Changeling impersonating him
Nolan Ortiz
More like the 4th edition started a new canon since it changed so many things.
Kevin Watson
So wait, in TWWH2 Tomb Kangz can only conquer their desert and Badlands with impunity? And everything else causes them problems? What gives? Settra is supposed to rule the world!
Caleb Robinson
I'm playing the high elf campaign ATM and I keep losing elves in the deserts and to the north. How are you supposed to conquer these areas?
Ryan James
KF dying was just misinformation spread by the enem
Liam Lewis
The Chaos Gods are named in the first edition rulebook.
Ryan Cook
>pic ah so that's what Metzen/Samwise were thinking of when they were making up night elves
Eli Roberts
What do tomb kings think of mortal subjects? Is that a goal or do they just wanna spread undeath now?
The undead are just tools they are stuck with. They desire to return to life (and in actual kings' plans - gain immortality)
Many still keep mortal servants, live pets, even concubines (just for show), pretending they are still alive. TWWH flavor text for TK wineries and spice traders are a good indication.
They certainly turn some subjects undead, but remember, TK skeletons are not puppets, like VC ones, they are driven by remnants of their former selves, so peasants won't make as good soldiers as former soldiers do.
Charles Walker
>Many still keep mortal servants, live pets, even concubines (just for show), pretending they are still alive. Any sources other than total warhammer? like army books? I think I scanned through one army book and didn't really find anything like that
Kayden Morgan
hm, not off the top of my head, but I have heard that a lot long before TWWH was even a gleam in CA eyes there must be something
I can only remember city of bedouins ruled by tomb kang. There not much source materials about them to begin with.
James Reed
An avatar with his own free will
Logan Walker
WFRP 1 is no longer canon.
WFRP 2 is Storm-era canon.
FFG's scam edition was End Times.
No word on 4th yet.
Ryan Reed
It goes like this: Does a thing appear in the RPG? Not canon. Does a thing appear in WHFB? Canon. Old thing that appeared in WHFB? If it has been updated in any new edition, the old thing is no longer canon.
Elf is far from hideous, guy Though Sienna is uggo yeah, but what can you expect from a meth addict
Cameron Smith
Elf isn't even meant to be seen; her face being visible is part of a bug. In VT2 she only had a pair of eyes, half a forehead and the bridge of her nose. Sienna looking fucking rough is only expected; she's a middle-aged meth addict like you said.
Isaiah Richardson
Man where did Warcraft lore go so wrong? This is actually cool.
Evan Johnson
>>elf given black eyes to make even uglier That's a good thing. Though she isn't that hideous.
WoW happened, somehow understandable why, but not making the classes sex-locked was teh first step into making them more generic wood elf hippies instead of metal elf barbarians and muscular druids.
Yes, Volkmar is Eltharions sister. They married back in Marienburg after Archaon declared his agreement to it.
Landon Edwards
Yeah, skeleton warriors are the same regardless of who summons them.
Nathan Kelly
It was a honest question, I have no idea.
Parker Allen
not that I know of I'll have to re-read 6th & 7th edition TK books tho
Carson Green
You again? How does it feel to be pretty much the only person in a general who spergs out at the mention of 8th edition It is very much canon here
Daniel Rivera
So all that white stuff is Nehekharan clay? I am currently fending off the southern lizardmen(The Last defenders). I am thinking of just razing them and let Karak Zorn colonize it or something. I like how you can actually see the old Nehekharan borders in that area(statues and monuments facing towards the lizardmen). It seems like I would have to conquer Tilea and the Border Princes, but I think I just gonna vassalize them.
The conquest of the badlands is going to be messy because the main greenskin faction is fucking huge. I recently saw them declare war on Kislev and Ostland so this might mean they are far into the Empire by now.
Ryan Long
>everyone who doesn't agree with me is the same person!
Nah, the 8th edition is a prequel to the End Times and not canon here.
Nathan Sanders
Could just as well be a prequel to a Storm of Chaos scenario 2bh
Jordan Butler
not him but some of 8th can sure, but much of it is just blatant preparation for the End Times.
Jaxon Collins
No one is as autistic about it as the one person, easily recognizeable. Like that one guy who has a stroke when he sees someone post non-army book art You can't counter that by attempting to make my claim seem illegitimate
William Wood
Yes I can when you see that person in every anti-8th edition post.
Connor Bell
only later army books, and even they have plot points that can be resolved differently
I mean, Wood Elf armybook is one of the worst offenders, but Durthu having immense power he doesn't know of, that can purge the forest is a cool story hook, that only works outside End Times
same with plenty of other stuff just because GW used some fluff in End Times doesn't mean it can be used ONLY for End Times
Lucas Harris
No, you really can't because I don't. I recognize that person when I see them, but I don't see them everywhere like you're saying. That being said, most of 8th ed aside from something like Sigmar's Blood is easily just as well a prep for SoC
There is that piece of fluff of the Asurs raiding Marienburg for shits and giggles that I like. It's from the 8th edition army book, but it doesn't stand in conflict with anything putside of 8th ed. Also some good art.
Apparently, but couldn't find anything about the Legion of Setep outside of that text on that map.
Some inconsistencies about the plains of plenty and plains of bones too.
Jack Cox
>Most 3rd party modellers do orcs so much better. show
Colton Gonzalez
Even in the Wood Elves book it was just the Durthu stuff, Araloth name dropping in hopes of making him seem relevant and then the part where the calendar/timeline thing stops where they're going out with the Bretonnians to meet Malloubade or whatever his name is on the field of battle to stop Mousillon
Elijah Clark
The look fits the personality and characteristics of warhammer orcs so I quite like them
Mason Sanders
8th fluff is fine, the most damning thing about the End Times is how it's ending the setting and shaking things up in a horrible way - at least 8th is all before that, in the setting the way we actually like it.
William Powell
they were also forcing Lileath a bit too strong, and there was some more shit
Do we have any information on how Wood Elves live? Do they build beautiful treehouses, amazing wooden halls? From everything I've seen they just seem to live in caves and that's gay as fuck.
Its admittedly been a year or so since I read the book but those are the only things that stood out as habbedings
Camden Mitchell
They look retarded because they're supposed to be goofy yet intimidating, their proportions are they way they are to make them look alien, the helmets aren't stupid but brilliant and checkered patterns are rad as fuck.
I know they have Halls of some sort where they have feasts.
Lucas Bailey
>they just seem to live in caves and that's gay as fuck. That's going in the book
Carson Turner
Stop being so butthurt, ratman.
Leo Watson
Halls, they have grand banquet halls. In these halls musoc plays & wine flows. They hold feasts in these halls and invite guests over as well, Bretonnian Questing Knights are one of the more common sights at these events
