I'm kinda expecting modular systems to make a comeback at some point soon with new editions. Don't get me wrong, they aren't dead, but from my subjective experience the likes of Gurps and Savage Worlds have taken a player loss in recent years.

Also if the current trend of new blood coming nto the hobby through streams continues I think we'll see a few more systems emerge with maybe one or two standing the test of time. Maybe even an increase in LARP activity due to Cosplayers branching out.

They had their chance.
They didn't learn any lessons from 3.5 so they chucked it all out and made 4e.
They didn't learn what they did right in 4e so they tossed out the good parts, kept some of the shit parts, threw the rest away.
For 5e they refused to keep the parts of 3.5 that were good in concept, refused to put any effort into balancing them, and made a game that is 50% shit (the character building rules) and 50% good (the combat rules and some of the adventuring rules). 6e would have to be a continuation of 5e, there is no way they can afford to fracture the fanbase even further by going in yet-another new direction. Personally, I've given up, and run a mix of low-level 3.5 games, 5e games, and OSR systems. I couldn't give less of a fuck about PF 2e, and the martial/caster disparity is shoved so far up peoples' asses that they take any sign of bringing the game back to groundedness as an assault on martials, because martialcucks whine so loudly about wanting to play Hercules that no actual progress can be made. You even mention bringing the attack bonuses down from full 1x level to make the math of the game a little less divisive and all you get is spergouts calling you a "casterfag." And on the other end you have PaizoDrones screaming that nothing is wrong with the game.

Milk is the issue, since they pump the chickens full of real estrogen that does affect you. Soy is probably actually safer but it's also kinda gay to drink that shit.

The issue solves itself; all screeching about it does is give the people who make that the excuse they need to say they're "under attack" and double down on their position and paint you as the bad guy and them as the victim, and that's literally all it does. It actively strengthens their position.

There will be more people playing Veeky Forums than ever before and those of us who were here five years ago will be a tiny minority serviced only by indie games. If you thought the obsessive politicization of every possible facet of every imaginable hobby was bad now, wait till 2022.

D&D5E will have cemented itself as the de facto RPG as PF1E did before it. PF2E will be successful within the Paizo community but it will not dethrone D&D again. There will be ongoing D&D6E playtests that further streamline the game and introduce elements from the narrative indie games of the mid 2010s.

Netflix will put out several seasons of C list celebrities playing D&D together ala Critical Role.

Many of the small/mid size companies will have gone under, completely subsumed by individual "personalities" with Patreons and other crowdfunding sites. Kickstarters for specific projects will be much less successful and the emphasis on having an engaging personality will limit the number of active designers, as will a focus on any potential designer's past social media posts.

Stagnant economy and D&D mania will drive a lot of people out of full time RPG work and companies like Paizo and Onyx Path will face a grim future.

I think there will be a shift back towards cruncher RPGs, as the simpleness of the narrative games becomes stale and customization becomes more streamlined thanks to online character creation apps (4E's DDI was a nice step in the pool. I think we'll see more of that). However, the crunch isn't going to go as far as it was, instead finding a nice middle ground between the two worlds.

I also expect to see more Twitch streaming of games, with the success of Critical Roll. Like a previous user said, technology will make it easier for groups to be made online which might allow to finish a campaign. Fingers Crossed Little Buddy.
