Post what you think characters look like!

Excuse me, but somebody dropped this in the last thread. I was wondering if you could tell me who it belonged to.

The Gut

100% Olga. Anyone else is bulkshit

It says "Best Girl", not "Best Character", otherwise there wouldn't be any confusion.

Ahem, Brigitte Nigga.

On that topic, however. People are curious about one thing.

What exactly does Olga look like?

I ask, because people (including myself) want to know how much of a waifu she is.

Currently, there are quite a few people demanding that she have crimson red hair, and ass to knee length hair.

Bitch, she's a close second. But no one else in discord is cheering for Brigette as #1 waifu

>What exactly does Olga look like?

Attached: Olga.jpg (92x315, 12K)

I actually write both and I am thrilled to hear people like them.

But honestly, The Gut would have been waaay worse without the guys that jump in. Especially "The Last Crasher" which is currently my favorite character.

>The Gut would have been waaay worse without the guys that jump in
Yeah, they were both alright on their own but the team-up was what made it great. I honestly loved the "bigs and littles" Chaos dynamic a ton.

Honestly, I used to THINK this was supposed to be Olga so Ive gone along with that mentally. But now knowing its not, I definitely wouldn't go with short hair. I also picture the body type differently. And her hair would either be brunette or strawberry blonde which is almost red.

>Yeah, they were both alright on their own but the team-up was what made it great.
I honestly don't know what Drathor can get up to now, that he's running on his own.

>Especially "The Last Crasher" which is currently my favorite character.
And our new mustache twirling villain. Honorable mention to Killa Kan, who got away... maybe?...

>But now knowing its not
Who said that it isn't?

Post favorite joke/line.

Sister Charlotte accidentally making a joke at Sister Charlotte's expense cracked me up.

Actually, while we're doing this can I ask you guys a Gut question?

His whole thing was being the supportive fraternity alternative to the catty sorority that the sisters are. I know, seeing the response, that at least kind of worked.

When he was facing off with the Bishop I was trying to maintain that while making him scary. Did that work, just end up regular, or seem cheesy?

I won't be offended by any answer. Im just new to writing this stuff and want input for my next villain.

The Sanctified, which was Guts chapter, are known for being chaos marines that also use sorcery and summon demons. Maybe he learned some of that.

I thought no one liked the Kan so I used him to give Gut a kill. Plus, after seeing the other guy that stepped in as an ork poster, I just saw how badly I was doing. That guy was great.

And the 1d4chan article says its not Olga.

>Be Phillip, or Phil as my friends call me
>Be enjoying and absolutely fascinating session about the Intricacies of poetry with my friend Sister Maria.
>Right now she is showing me one of her earlier works

“Alone I stand against my Foe,
No Fear or weakness do I show,
They see my stance, and think me bold,
But they don’t know the truth untold,

For even still I cannot hide,
The Emptiness that’s deep inside,
This twisting turning writhing hole,
Of sorrow that lays in my soul,

So when they seek the answer why,
That It seems I have come to die,
My answer shall fill them with Dread,
‘You can’t kill what’s already dead’”
>”Bravo, Ma’am, Bravo, that was truly splendid!”
“Oh not really, it was just a silly little poem I wrote when I was a teen. It’s not really all that good.”
>”Oh nonsense, that was wonderful! You ought to be more proud of your work.”
>Suddenly, from down stairs, I hear crashing noises, disgusted screaming, and Ghastly groaning.
>We rush expecting an attack or home invasion
>instead it is just my comptratiots, lying in a pile over the broken remains of a chair. With sister Annmarie standing by the open door.
>”Fessus, Back so soon?”
”What do you mean so soon? It’s already half past midnight.”
>Why so it is, my how time does fly when you’re having fun!
“We left Early but it took us 3 1/2 hours to get here.”
>”But this is only a 30 minute walk from the bar, 10 if you’re driving”
“Yeah but you know it was such a lovely day that we decided to walk and enjoy the scenery, you know really take it in”
“Yeah, in fact it was so beautiful we had to take in multiple times.”
“They mean we forgot our communicators and got lost.”
“Oh screw you Marcus!”
>”Gentlemen, Gentlemen, that still doesn’t explain what happened to the Chair!”

“Oh that’s easy. You see the bloody door wouldn’t open no matter how hard we pulled and when we tried to bash it down with Decarus, it suddenly opened because of this lady here.”
“It wouldn’t open because this is a push door, not a pull door.”
>Fessus, Marcus, and Lloyd all stand around sheepishly, cheeks red
“Oh...”
“Well how were we supposed to bloody know that?”
“Perhaps by the sign”
“We couldn’t read it, it was dark and written in blackish grey”
>”Actually it was written in-“
“Oh don’t you start too!”
>See Decarus still on the floor, unconscious
>”Is he quite alright? Did you say tried to use him as a battering ram?”
“Oh yeah, he’s fine, he was out before we started”
“Yeah he just can’t hold his liquor as good as some of us”
“And we used him feet first anyways, but still it was Fessus’s idea”
“Aw come one, you too Lloyd?”
“Sorry Sarge, but I don’t wanna have to be the one to explain to the Doc if something’s wrong with him”
“It’s Decarus, that’s his default state.”
>Well
>this is thoroughly embarrassing for all of us now
>time to make my exit,
>”Well In any case Maria, it seems I must now escort my inebriated friends back home. I had a lovely time tonight, we really should do this again sometime”
“Sure I would love to”
“Just make sure they aren’t a part of the package next time”
>”Right. Again, sorry for the damages Sister Annmarie we shall send you the money for the damages”
“Bye Maria, thanks again for babysitting him.”
“Hope he wasn’t too much trouble.”
“How much is your Hourly rate?”
>”Let’s GO!”
>my friends are the worst sometimes.

I tried writing this in the last thread but it took to long. Honestly that “poem” in the beginning took just as long as the rest of it.

I thought you did that pretty well.

I figured they were together for maybe a few hours, maybe a few days, so I think he's really not too knowledgeable about those things.

But thinking more, I might have a few ideas.

I was the other ork, and I honestly would have loved a collab with you dude. We should have linked up for some shenanigans.

Is the planet currently turning into a Utopia? Will the setting be changing to somewhere less "established" now?

>I thought no one liked the Kan so I used him to give Gut a kill
I personally really liked the idea of Kan-as-Warboss so I wrote him an out. ()

>the 1d4chan article says its not Olga
I intended it to be when I made that edit, but you know. People can do whatever they like with their own characters.

Came across just fine, I think; I could imagine it being delivered with intimidating mood whiplash, his tone contrasting with the 'orrible shit he was saying.

Does anyone else feel like Canoness K is getting a bit too big for her Britches? I mean being passive agressive to her coworkers is one thing, but threatening to sell a Space Marine chapter to the Necrons is going pretty far, even for a Canoness superior. I feel like she’s undergoing the “Mandy effect” from the Grim adventure of Billy and Mandy where she started out as this Dry, stoic, amoral little girl but then Started getting shilled as this “end all be all of all evil”.

Yeah sorcery is a stretch. I was just thinking about your character on a smoke break earlier and how he could make his frat a threat.

Thanks for saying that about the Kan. The other thing is that ork speak is horrible with the autocorrect in the note app on my phone.

And, it will depend how the interplay happens with Governess. But I try to keep the Bishop flawed and utopia isn't any of the four possabilities I am considering.

Assuming the underhive and sewers keep being Necron/Tyranid hellholes, then I can think of a few things he can get up to. That one sister also has his knife, so that could be an interesting plot thread to follow.

If you want to go ork again, Spooky Git is going to need his Rork-bin.

>threatening to sell a Space Marine chapter to the Necrons is going pretty far
They did attempt to kidnap an actual Living Saint, so bitching them out over it seems well within the Ecclesiarchy's characterization as much as hers. I see it as more a result of the Blood Ravens' flanderization than hers.

I thought it was on point.

Will we be doing another story thread after this one or is it better to save it for the weekend so people don't get burnt out?

What you think characters sound like. I’ve always imagined Decarus as a somewhat deeper version of Private from penguins of Madagascar.

To be clear, when I say "on point" I mean Canoness was good. Its kind of either what she did or ban them from the planet.

As for what they sound like, I like that call for Decarius and the rest of the guardsmen crew.

As far as other sound-alikes, because the earliest Canoness posts were Joan from mad men I always think of that actress for everything she does.

Ice Breaker for whatever reason I picture as LUKE Wilson instead of Owen, voice and otherwise.

And Charlotte has the voice of a mid-sized city girl that rode horses growing up.

>Is the planet currently turning into a Utopia? Will the setting be changing to somewhere less "established" now?
I think we're still good where we're at. Part of the initial appeal for people was "everything's happening and everybody in the universe is there" but I think a lot of people would agree that the second thread was better than the first, and I'd say that's in large part due to the fact that the focus was a little tighter.
Having a few good villains everyone knew by name was way better than just "now the Tyranids are there", and the Chaos villains ended up being some of the best characters.

Plus there's still Orks, Tyranids, Necrons, Eldar and Chaos forces on the planet even if they're all on the defensive now.

>I honestly don't know what Drathor can get up to now
He is the big now.

>Its kind of either what she did or ban them from the planet.
Honestly, while a Canoness threatening to ice a high-ranking Space Marine is a little out there by canon 40k standards, a Marine Chapter trying to steal an actual honest-to-goodness Saint is pretty far beyond the pale. That shit would reasonably get them declared heretics and wiped out by the Minotaurs and/or several thousand Sororitas.

I always thought Phil had the DoW priest voice, but ever since he started getting actual speaking roles I’m starting to hear a little bit of Kryten Krytenski mixed up in there

I was getting shades of pic related

Attached: acerimmr[1].jpg (287x400, 36K)

For the person who asked about the planets current predicament, the Imperium has a few "safe zones" but most of the rest of the planet is still a hellhole and will likely generate its own stories desperate from the any city plotlines. Also feel free to add other "safe zones" for all the other major factions. Essentially think of this planet like Kaurva, just with more people/factions, and on geneseed.

Not to mention that even if there weren't enemies still all over the place, there's a lot of mileage to get out of "How do these people run a planet by themselves anyway?"

Really? Interesting, How so?

Fair enough. I hope this means an end to the complete flanderization of the Blood Ravens in these thread. It did get old having them do nothing but steal for a while.

I loved Gut, so much that the alpha legion wanted him as a recruiter, not anymore I guess

Gut and Drathor were best boys. They deserve fanart.

Charismatic, inspirational, but also very positive around people. Mostly came across during the poetry discussion.

Interesting, I kinda got the Kryten vibe due to how excessively polite and verbose he was.

Attached: Crashers_Forever.jpg (1178x676, 136K)

Also wait which poetry discussion, the first one or the one posted in this thread?

>be alpha legion infiltrator Mefros
>told to wait in the sewers underneath the church to exfiltrate Sanctified Khornate Beserker Gutthurian Ortylux, a horus heresy veteran who once fought in angron's retinue
>would be a perfect recruitment-master, has a paternal complex and is quite protective, literally perfect
>wait behind a false wall until my motion detector pipes up and I hear the faint rumblings of a chainaxe
>I think "took longer than I expected to clear out that pathetic excuse of a church"
>prime the explosives to hide the tunnel back to the cell-headquarters to blow once we leave
>open the false wall
>god fucking damn it
>whydoesalphariushateme.alpha
>instead of finding a very old happy go lucky beserker
>I find instead a wounded sad PDF solider absolutely covered in blood and with a huge khornate chainaxe, skinning a tyranid to make jury rigged armour
>I'm confused for about 2 whole seconds
>decide to go with friendly
>do a pretty good friendly wave at the guy and ask him
>"hey, i'm a good friend of Gutthurian Ortylux. Do you know were your "big one" is?"

Attached: AlphaChamp1.jpg (400x400, 55K)

I'm probably going to wait until the next official story thread before continuing on dude. I'll get a reply ready though.

yeah that's totally all g, Just had this typed up and then thread fuckin locked

Sounds good

Would that make Fessus Skipper, since he’s always threatening him with violence?

>I hope this means an end to the complete flanderization of the Blood Ravens
It was mentioned before that this is why using really obscure canon factions (like the Order of the Ermine Mantle) was best, because there's nothing to meme but also nothing to "your dudes" Mary Sue.

Apologies to the guy running the Purple Stars Marine who actually followed through with that but didn't really have anyone to engage with.

Does the manipulation, subtle threats, and an "alliance" with the imperial forces sound like something an Archon in it for the keks would do? Because I think so.

Drathor is figuring out how to Chaos on his own, and might get pretty good at it. Maybe he starts building up his own "Last Crasher Warband." Plus he severely injured an Old West gunslinger and "avatar of the Emperor's vengeance" who probably won't forget about it any time soon.

There's also the Killa Kan, who I guess was still alive in the Gut's, er, gut, along with a sneaky Solid Snake Kommando inside the walls. There's a big Ork power vacuum after the battle, maybe Gor'Muncha rescues the little guy before he gets noticed and they go about filling it. There's a hell of a lot of Sisters about, maybe they hook him into a Penitent Engine?

Obviously overwhelmingly Konnie.

I was going to say, I'm very much looking forward to Drathor meeting the Sister he inadvertently injured. Alpha Legion plot thread could be cool.

by the way :^)

Governess Player here, i don't think so. I had actually in mind first to give the gifts a even greater accident potential, due to her beeing not incompetend (aka not high on warpdust 24/7) but not very experiecend. Hence, she thinks it is a good Idea to give every guardsman booze and a porn and the Mechanicum Scavenging Rights in the Ruins. (Saw this morning that I forgot that in my last post, was tired as shit, when making it.) For the Sisters my Idea was something that would kinda fit for them, but be in the later not that usefull.
I can see many conflicts within the imperial forces breaking out, even now actually. For Example:
>Guardsmen getting drunk and making dumb stuff
>The potential of hate is still there for guard & zealots, altough measures have been taken
>Mechanicum finding some stuff they should not toy with but doing it of course
>The conflict between the zealots and sisters & blood ravens is still there
>Space Marine Chapters getting into conflict about the recruitment rights, altough that is maybe a bit streched
>Its the fucking Imperium, they allways find a reason to fuck eachother over, now matter how retarted the premise is
While I can't see in the future, I would predict that the planet will have to struggle with some kind of jojo effect - he will more or less rebuild and get better, but the shit that happens next will be even greater, or in case of the last thread far more focused, which i totally agree with the most, was kinda nice, although I liked the complete chaos that the first one was, too.
I am not sure. I guess, a soft, lightly seducing voice, while young still a bit scratchy.

portland sucks
you people are animals

you prey on the weak and diffident with your psuedo-intellectualism, promoting cultural backwater. The language of 'peace' is to you a never ending procession of concessions and conciliatory actions. You're so terrified of reprisals that you can't even say what you feel.

Are you really so terrified of violence? Or are you afraid of the nature of man? To live is to kill, to breath is to kill, you can not exist without causing harm. Terrified of your own grandiosity you mock those who would challenge your fragile and untenable 'peace'.

Both; I can see where you're coming from with Kryten though.

>Linking to the results page instead of the vote itself
Nigga what are you doing?

So what are we thinking for next thread? Brief time skip or right into the action? When should we start it?

>no Governor's Daughter, Sara & Barbastella, or Sister Maria

>When should we start it?
Best to hold off a few days, save it for the weekend. Especially when we were starting to get to the point of actually needing specific posters to continue.

To be fair, if Governor's daughter was included it wouldn't even be a contest.

Yeah and Maria didn’t even exist until like the very end.

>Brief time skip or right into the action?
The previous thread had a time skip... sort of. Kinda. Time is wonky. I would assume it would be the same way again.

Yeah but she's adorable.

Goth girls a cute!

>While I can't see in the future, I would predict that the planet will have to struggle with some kind of jojo effect - he will more or less rebuild and get better, but the shit that happens next will be even greater, or in case of the last thread far more focused
Mentioned before, but with the ongoing crusade, the planet itself is now basically the 40k equivalent of pic related. They're gonna have all manner of Imperial armies, traders, and pilgrims passing through up to their own shit while also being a military target.

Plus there's now a few villains with a vested interest in the place.

Attached: DS9.jpg (970x545, 99K)

Tangential note, how'd I do with Maria? I chipped in at the end to give her a POV section (but am not Fessus)

Am Fessus
You did Pretty damn nicely actually, a lot better than I would. I was just struggling to come up with my lame ass attempts at poetry, let alone a full blown POV.

What do you mean time skip or right into the action? Wouldn’t doing a timeskip be throwing us into the action? I was kinda hoping to have a bit more time for the characters to fuck around in peace time, considering we just got done a huge-ass battle.

Time skip doesn't necessarily mean the end of peace time. A time skip would just mean things like buildings are being rebuilt, pilgrims are settling, and shit like that.

I imagine we'll want some peacetime regardless. I imagine this chapter, outside of the nids and necrons underground, the antagonists will be less direct and more insidious. At least that's the general theme of the ideas I'm coming up with.

> I imagine this chapter, outside of the nids and necrons underground, the antagonists will be less direct and more insidious.
This.
Can't just have constant a clusterfuck of apocalyptic events.

>the antagonists will be less direct and more insidious.
That sounds like a good way to go, a little less army vs army combat would probably be better. On the other hand, I don't want things to just devolve into character shipping or whatever, and I know this is 40k so "there is only war" is kind of implied. But we're not actually running a wargame or anything, it's story-based, so "heretic on the run facing off with a vengeful gunslinger Sister" can be just as exciting as "a bunch of Dreadnoughts and Carnifexes wrestle each other", if not more so.

And it's fun to let the bad guys be the underdogs sometimes. Especially ones we already like.

Exactly, Plus we still have a lot of avenues to pursue. I'm kicking around the idea of a chaos sorcerer preacher type coming in amongst the pilgrims. We've had almost no psyker shit at all.

Plus we haven't really dug into the Ad Mech aside from them showing up and releasing killbots. Inquisitors have shown up, but we haven't had a dedicated inquisitor poster. I'd like to see some of that shit get mined before we blow up the planet again.

Very good points. I think the necrons and Tyranids should keep us from turning into something lame, but we'll definitely want to keep an eye on that.

Plus, Dark Heresy type action can be just as exciting as Titan fights.

>Plus we still have a lot of avenues to pursue
This is definitely true, both in unexplored characters and plots and in new ideas to use. I was kicking around Rogue Trader and AdMech characters to bring in if things started to peter out but it was never even close to necessary, and I was originally going to bring in 4-5 side Sororitas Orders but I narrowed it down to 2 because I thought it would be cluttered. I'm sure all the major posters can say something similar. Hell, this is 40k and we've really barely done much with Space Marines, despite having talked about various minor Chapters ripe to be fluffed up in the last discussion.

We're not hurting for content. If anything there's still more danger of too much going on instead of not enough. The issue is keeping people's interest and keeping up the quality.

I also think it's important to figure out a way to stay welcoming to new posters. As we stack up more and more threads, people may be too intimidated to jump in. I'm not sure what we do about that though.

Character-wise, it's still pretty easy for people to either say "I'm X, I'm part of Y faction, I've been here the whole time, here's what I'm doing", or to show up suddenly with the intention of doing Crusades 'n' shit.

As far as people feeling too intimidated to jump in, that really can't be helped other than having archive links to the previous threads like in the OP for this one.

Cheers mate!

So if we're gonna wait for the weekend, are we starting Friday or Saturday? I don't think this discussion thread is gonna hit bump so we shouldn't base it on that.

What the fuck is this shit?

Attached: A14ADB20-1E78-4657-AFEE-513FC6130979.gif (446x469, 1.46M)

Friday, I guess. Since the threads tend to reach bump limit, obviously, but it takes a couple days because people can't post that quickly.

>Apologies to the guy running the Purple Stars Marine who actually followed through with that but didn't really have anyone to engage with.
Yeah, good on him for keeping through.

>good on him for keeping through
Same with other folks writing good shit that doesn't really get a chance to connect to the "main plot", like the Eldar fella. Just because shit seems like it gets ignored doesn't mean we don't appreciate it.

This can't be repeated enough.

Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try. Emperor forbid we lose all our neat subplots, and the onus of carrying the story falls upon only the few main writers.

I'm pretty sure the person you're replying to is in full agreement with you on that.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

So, question I'm surprised hasn't been asked: Where is our planet, exactly?

Attached: 40k-galaxy.jpg (2000x1600, 378K)

I wouldn't worry about it, the improv nature of the thread seems to not need details like these work.

Somewhere far from Tau space. At least according to the first thread(where Tau made an appearance).

I'd stick it about pic related. After all, the planet has a Necron tomb and has brushed up against Trazyn the Infinite (who's from the Nihilakh Dynasty), and it would kind of line up with the fact that it was on the way home for the Ermine Mantle coming back from a long war fighting the Orks, and put it within easy enough reach of lots of big factions. Plus there's a big ol' Warp Rift nearby for all your Chaos related needs.

Doesn't quite line up with but hey, that's a long way by Tau standards.

It's not at all necessary but it's still nice to iron out.

Attached: Map.jpg (2000x1600, 928K)

Seems like solid reasoning to me.

that's super close to mcragge, works out perfectly for the next plot i'm working on

Bump.
