So uh... maybe snakefolk can be the obligatory race that is obsessed with crystals. Hell, you could have a race of snakefolk with a full range of excreta that are all crystals. They sweat crystals, their body hair is crystals, they are constantly accumulating and sloughing off vast amounts of crystalline matter. Their homes are littered with crystals, made of crystals, carved FROM crystal. They would not understand why humans who collect their fingernail clippings are seen as weird because this is common sense, and every snakeperson does this because their fingernails are crystals.
Snakefolk still value precious gems and natural crystals like other races, they just have an abundance of their own crystals to work into lower grade jewelry and magical weapons. They have immense appetites to support their ability to continue crystallising matter internally, and they can go months without drinking water because they hydrate themselves as a byproduct of the crystallisation process.
Their general outlook on other races is one of considerable pity because these creatures can clearly understand how privileged the snakefolk are, having infinite crystals from their bodies, yet are pathetically left only able to steal them from others or dirty themselves in the earth looking for them.

Their equivalent of urination, which is primarily a means of disposal for excess nitrates (mediated by releasing ammonia in fish, urea in water in most land vertebrates, and uric acid in snakes), produces a solid. This is because in part because snakes just prefer not to lose much water in the process and partly because of differently regulated pathways. Honestly I'm not sure how the physical aspect of it is handled but snakes ultimately excrete crystalline uric acid directly from their kidneys via the ureter.

OG nagas were (usually) giant, intelligent snakes, sometimes with human heads. OG Lamia was a woman cursed with a lower body of a beast (in some depictions a snake, but it could also be another animal depending on who'se telling the story), who ate children. Ultimately the modern depiction of them as women with lower bodies of snakes doesn't have much to do with either (I'm not actually sure where exactly the modern version comes from, although a woman with the lower body of a snake is a design that does show in actual mythologies as well).
I believe only snakes and lizards in very dry climates excrete crystallized urea. At least the pet garter snake I've had excreted what looked like bird shit.

I don't really think a fresh spin is needed. Just go with the classic lovecraftian snake people and use them to imply a much longer history of the world than the player characters would be aware of.
You can then use other, stranger entities to imply a still longer history.

The only actual snake that'd be about as wide as a lamia's lower body would have to be (at least as wide as a human waist) was the Titanoboa, which is estimated to have weighter about a ton.

I would define vore containing some form of sexual elements (I think it specifically is often tied to domination, but that's just me acting as an armchair psychologist).
There's quite a lot of scenes of characters getting swallowed in fiction that probably weren't written by vorefags.
The snake-girl comic probably was written by a vorefag, but on the other hand it's pretty atypical for vore since the prey attacks the predator from the inside and forcer her to spit them out.
I do agree that people should talk more about snake-peopel civilizations and using them in games. I have some in my setting, but desu they're pretty much a direct copy of the Conan serpent-men; ancient fallen civilization that's been mostly reduced to savages, but still have a few holdouts where they're plotting to reclaim the world.
