THE GUN IS GOOD

Ehhhhh.... Honestly its gotta be the goblin posting.

Wow, never thouht I'd post this....

1. Quests.
2. "does x exist in your setting" excuses for a fetish thread
3. Primarchposting
4. Casualposting
5. Rapeposting

Why did this image make me burst into laughter?

Did you seriously make this just after your last bitch thread was deleted?

All of them are quite epic :)

I prefer potatoposting, personally.

40k crossovers, specifically because it triggers the autists.

He did. But at least he's not complaining about them in this one.

Twitterscreencapposting, hands down.

What are quests?

Salty ones, were OP is a huge faggot. So tasty!

at least the gun threads are adding to my stock of knights with guns pictures

>Which one is your favorite
Definitely 40k crossovers, because while it's not my favorite thing it's a different thread every time. "How does Superman do in 40k" is an entirely different conversation than "How do the Boohbahs fare in 40k."

The rest are just "Oh this thread again?" followed by bitching about the state of the board instead of an unexceptional but acceptable Veeky Forums discussion

That's not how you spell aberdeen - youtube.com/watch?v=oYNrHLfIx_4

Oh yeah. Having a discussion of Lanterns as a 40k faction or Wonder Woman leading a Sisters of Battle regiment is great.

Wow, check out mister fag over here. Tell me, where did the soggy knees touch you?

Magical realm threads.
Reminds me of the good old days when /tg was fun.

lelfposting

Elfposting is more fun now that they can be trans

>OP has "favourite things"

What's it like to be literally, objectively retarded?

and find out.

You forgot about concubine posting

I prefer MTG shitposting, myself. Especially when it's just a thinly veiled /pol/ thread. At least one user has been posting tin-foil hat conspiracy theories about Mossad and the horns of Moloch and all sorts of shit. I find him/them easily baitable and endlessly entertaining.

I like 40k but holy FUCK do I hate crossover 40k threads

Attached: 54614561494164414.jpg (1425x1425, 381K)

At least the harem threads will teach you a new word each time.

>What are quests?
Check the /qst/ board. That type of content used to be part of Veeky Forums but there was a long kerfuffle and it got moved into its own board.
I was in favour of quests getting moved off when it happened but in hindsight, Veeky Forums has gotten a lot worse without them.

fuck 40k crossover threads. 40kids love to jerk their shitty immature setting so much, even if it would get btfo in other settings

I like 40k crossover threads when they actually try to be creative and apply some logic, like that time we turned Isaac Clarke from Dead Space into a techmarine with a Power Boot

Harem posting.

Occasionally unusual or amusing images come.

I fucking hate arms and armor threads as it's always tards calling everyone tards. "Oh the design is bad" "no you faggot that's not a long sword" "amerifat eurotard" "guns were decently accurate" "rifling ftw"
Only thing I learned from arms and armor threads are that no one knows about arms and armor.

>I didn't like quests but they were this totally cool thing you should check out oh how I miss them and losing them killed Veeky Forums, which definitely hadn't gone to shit years before. Did I mention I didn't like quests?

>Only thing I learned from arms and armor threads are that no one knows about arms and armor.
This is what I hate about realism arguments in general. I'm pretty uneducated on most things, but once in awhile I see someone posting about realism who's just very clearly obviously wrong, or I see two anons playing "no u" over what's realistic and it's only possible for one, at most, to be right. Now whenever I see "realism" about a topic I don't know shit about, I can't take them for their word at all since they might just be another fag who learned their reality from Game of Thrones.

anyone have the picture that criticises the greek guy in armour for being too exposed?

Lately I've felt my autism overtake me and started collaging obvious shitposting/fetishposting. Whether it's out of a sense of duty or I'm just the neckbeard equivalent of the homeless man with a doomsday sign I cannot say.

Attached: stop this.png (1767x1210, 1.29M)

>I was in favour of quests getting moved off when it happened but in hindsight, Veeky Forums has gotten a lot worse without them.
It's not specifically losing quests that caused the decline of Veeky Forums. It was narrowing the range of acceptable threads that throttled the range of creativity that caused so much OC in the past.

Pic related I guess

Why does the “guns are anathema to adventure and romanticism” argument exist when there’s plenty of work that has all of them?

Are you thinking of the gladiator image

I can't find my copy

Well compared to the above mentioned in OP they were most definitely better.

nevermind, got it

Attached: 1484831833752.jpg (1605x1056, 327K)

>"guns are anathema to adventure and romanticism"
The implicit caveat being "...in role-playing games." Obviously you can tell a good story with guns in it, people have been doing it for quite a while now. But it's hard to find the balance in putting them in a game where they're viable but also don't make everything else obsolete.

In medieval fantasy settings that do have guns, they're often the domain of a special snowflake gunslinger or tinkerer class while most of warfare is still fought with swords and spears, which isn't any more historically accurate than not having them at all.

TEH BENIS PRODEGDS

Attached: embara.png (849x724, 52K)

The one I'm thinking of is a classical painting of a gladiator in a colosseum

It's simple really
magical swords, mages that can cast spells that alter reality, are all more than equal to shooting pebbles really fast
People use guna in the setting because they are incapable of using magic or magical items, and have no ability for martial combat
Unironically the best system that does guns in fantasy is pathfinder ultimate combat

I'm not great at Pathfinder or anything but aren't guns actually pretty shit in the system?

they're prone to breaking, have slow reload times, but have some lethal damage modifiers and pretty decent range

Guns don't make sense as a primary weapon in a fantasy world where you can shit out firballs the size of small nukes

It’s the fucking generals

Given all the fetish posting going on, can anyone give me an idea on how to make OL posting a thing on Veeky Forums?

Attached: 1515869446089.jpg (796x596, 297K)

Just say you're making a slice-of-life RPG about office ladies, come up with a few stats, and then occasionally bump the thread with worksafe OL. Just remember that as the OP you have a five-minute cooldown before you can bump your thread.

Attached: NANWXyh.gif (480x270, 5.03M)

MAID but with office ladies working for the boss

But what if the reason I like OL is for the potential of femdom? Especially a male boss having an OL harem would directly contradict this.

Attached: 1519930956475.jpg (1102x826, 125K)

>But it's hard to find the balance in putting them in a game where they're viable but also don't make everything else obsolete.
it's fucking numbers dude. Guns do not have an inherent meta power that makes them immune to dealing comparable damage to other weapons.
Stop perpetuating this stupid fucking idea. It's a goddamn game, you can make guns pea-shooters if it makes you happy, Devil May Cry has lived like this for a fucking decade and nobody cares because the game is fun.

MTG /pol/posting. High quality cancer. I don't even play Magic.

Isn't a more passive male with a small horde of pushy, dominant girls a thing in some stories, though?

Have to agree with . As much as 40k discussion annoys me with "anything special about other setting is just warp magic" and "But what about the CultureOr whatever that overpowered sci-fi setting is called", there's still new stuff happening every now an then.
Heck, we even produced a bit of greentext in the MH crossover threads.

The crossover threads means we get to discuss something new, the other are just the same shit we've already seen. Shitposters need to step their game up.

Oh, that's something I can get behind!

Like, stereotypical harem anime/manga? There's really not much femdom in there aside the one girl pandering to that fetish. It's a bunch of girls trying to get into a monogamous relationship with a guy denser than a black hole that can never go anywhere because it would piss of 90% of your fanbase if their girl doesn't get what she wants.
Which is to be together with the stand-in for (You).

How many virtual women rewarded you for your services Sir White Knight?

>It's a goddamn game, you can make guns pea-shooters if it makes you happy
Right, and if you specifically want to use guns for aesthetic reasons you could do that. But if people are pushing guns in medieval-themed settings just because "history" and then having to give them entirely unrealistic stats just to fit them in, what was the point?

To filter out the autists

>Devil May Cry has lived like this for a fucking decade and nobody cares because the game is fun.
Guns serve a purpose in DMC by allowing allowing you to attack at range so that you don't drop the combo from tossing someone outside of melee range. Them doing shit damage is fine because they aren't really meant to be used as a primary weapon in the first place.

It's not like making it so that a pistol has disadvantage on any range past 10 ft. with a 50% chance to explode while only dealing like 2d3 damage a hit. If you're going to fuck over guns that hard for the sake of realism (while ignoring all the equally unreaslistic scenarios going on because "muh magic") then you might as well just be open in saying that guns don't exist, will never exist, and can never exist because you, as a DM, don't feel comfortable introducing such technology to your fantasy realm. At least then you aren't wasting anyone else's time.

Why do you play with rando's? Do you not have any friends who are willing to play anymore?

Aren't there stories where the guy ends up with all of them? Just make it so the girls all pander to that fetish, whatever other differences they may have, and it should be fine.

What does that have to do with filtering autists

Neither do swords, though. Every argument you could make for every other weapon and most innovations. Magic as it is in DnD makes everything else obsolete

I just want to have fun on the only board I like.

>the only board I like
And we'd all like to keep it that way.

Personally I wish there was more WoDposting, not for PvP theorywank, I just want the same shitposting we currently have to welcome the flavor of a different setting. It's always just D&D-esque fantasy.

based standard haver

Quests were removed because they are shit. You lost. Get over it.

I wouldn't have minded them so much if they didn't take up 1/6 of the catalog, if not more.

Stop playing anything except for human fighters

When did you get castrated?

This.

That is just being elf

>Run a game set in a setting where guns feature heavily
>All this began before the memes, and every session I sweat more and more, worried my players will start memeing any second now

Attached: 1427993798127.jpg (524x857, 74K)

That's only one type of them though. There's never just one.

I still report each thread. I genuinely think with just slightly more active janitors Veeky Forums would be 100 times better.

Ran a setting with guns
most players did not even bother
none of them having proficiency may have been a factor

What's going on with MtG? Another exaggerated "SJW IS TAKING AWAY OUR TABLE"?

WotC has decided to try pandering to diversityfags, so naturally /pol/tards are chimping out over it. They keep making threads to shitpost about every possible complaint anyone could have with MtG.

Elf-posting. At least the old age of Elf Slav Wat Do produced some decent porn in the midst of its shitposting.

>quoting 5e DM Guide
a pistol does 1d10 piercing damage, range 30/90
a musket does 1d12 piercing damage, range 40/120

a longbow does 1d8 piercing, range 150/600
a heavy crossbow does 1d10 piercing, range 100/400

only melee weapons that do as much damage as guns are all heavy
Glaive 1d10 slashing
Greataxe 1d12 slashing
Halberd 1d10 slashing
Lance 1d12 piercing
Pike 1d10 piercing

So guns basically render melee fighters obsolete gameplay wise, but at least the bowmen have the advantage of better range

am I being fucking trolled or are you idiots literally illiterate?
Guns are not inherently OP, just make the fucking numbers equal so that they deal equivalent damage to melee weapons, maybe shave some points off for ranged
have you autists ever played a roleplaying game in your fucking lives?

Attached: 1512487422613.jpg (1062x1500, 413K)

>have you autists ever played a roleplaying game in your fucking lives
I did
multiple ones in fact
Started with Vampire the Masquerade, switched to Chronicles of Darkness (back when it was still called World of Darkness), tries some Exalted and Dark Heresy, and then went to current D&D

You're forgetting about attacks of opportunity and area control. A melee fighter can hold the line and prevent enemy movement by threatening attacks of opportunity, while ranged attackers cannot.
