It's time to make a DragonRaid character! DragonRaid is a Christian fantasy game that was created by a guy named Dick Wulf in 1984 to lure kids away from the cool game of Dungeons & Dragons and into the even cooler game of evangelical Christianity.
>Creating a character has been made as simple as possible by the use of a LightRaider Worksheet. Nothing says fun like worksheets! To start, we have nine attributes, Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control. As the LightRaiders of the OverLord who protect the planet of EdenAgain, your character will be among the best of the best, and so all their stats will swing wildly between 1 and 10 with no weighting or modifiers.
>If your Physical Vitality is less than 19, your character is too weak to enter the DragonLands. Begin again and create another character. Well, let's hope we're not wasting our time!
This game uses the New International Version of the Bible, and the website is still being hosted so you can grab all the rulebooks from there: www.dragonraid.net
LET'S GO!
To begin, I need someone to roll 9d10 for our stats in order. Hopefully the total is more than 19. I'm rolling for whether we're a boy (1) or girl (2).
Answer me this OP. In this game, can my holy crusader beat the shit out of the devil, smash pagan idols, and crush heathens under my boots?
Or is this Care Bears light Christianity? I’m fine with the second, but I want the first primarily over the second.
Nolan Green
Where did this dice luck go when I actually needed it.
Evan James
But don't they know the dice is the Devil's tool? They all are going to hell for making Dragonraid.
Logan Hill
so are we playing or doesn't OP deliver like always?

No, it's the good kind. A little backstory, the Maker made the OverLord and put him in charge of the planet EdenAgain but then later some dragons showed up and corrupted the human inhabitants. The OverLord drove back the dragons and made the liberated humans into his people. The humans who are still in the thrall of consumerism and material comforts are referred to as Dragon Slaves, or DragonSlaves. There are some rules for disarming specifically because you're not supposed to kill slaves of the dragons unless you absolutely can't convert them.
Sorry, I was doing something in another thread and got distracted.
>Tons of "love" and "joy" >no inner peace >even less faith I want to say crazy hedonist raver girl, but she also has tons of self control
Justin Hill
>Dragons are wicked Yeah. I'm down with that bit of Christian mythology.

OK CHARSHEET SO FAR
user rolled pretty great for stats, so we have the equivalent of 26 hit points out of the gate. Somebody want to pitch a name for this gal?
Somebody also needs to roll 2d10 to get our Strength and Agility.
Damn, that was close but I'd rather be a musclegirl klutz than the wimpiest klutziest klutz ever.
>Now you must find ratings for an assortment of Character Abilities, Armor Ratings, Weapon Abilities and Defensive Abilities. Must we?
>Eight Character Abilities, one Weapon Ability, and all of the Defensive Abilities are required for a beginning LightRaider. Then players may choose three more Character Abilities and three more Weapon Abilities. In any ability not chosen, the player automatically has a rating of 1.
>First find the rating for the Character Abilities. OK, sounds easy
>Use the formulas found on the LightRaider Worksheet, dropping all remainders. For example, the Hope Character Ability is determined by adding (3 + Joy) + Peace + Patience + Faithfulness and dividing the sum by 6.
>a girl >near maxed out Joy and Love >no Faithfulness Damn it Veeky Forums, could you not create a slut for once?
Easton Myers
OK, I think I got everything right here. Somebody want to check my math?
Also, we need to pick three weapons. Please vote for TWO weapons that you really want, and the three that have the most votes after I get done recopying all these numbers onto the other side of the character sheet will be what we're armed with.
I'll say one thing, I'd rather go to church than have to fill in any more of this character sheet. I guess this really is an effective tool for getting kids to be uninterested in D&D.
