First for converted militia

Second for when will Phalanx Breachers be released?

You have my attention.

Which legion is best legion?
Which legion is worst legion?

I was mostly talking about the cool discussions about Our Guys we had in the last thread, like my Consus Driftborn (to be converted from genestealer hybrids and pig iron "kolony inner guard" heads) and user's DAoT-fueled army of clones.

>Implying I'm incapable of targeting anything else
I can easily keep my entire army outside of range of phosphex or immune to phosphex
>Troops ride in triaros
>Flyers are very unlikely to be hit by shatter shells
>Thallax with photon thrusters can outrange quad guns
>Usurax could deepstrike right next to the guns, too close to use phosphex (thallax could too but usrax are better)
And even if you do score hits on mechanicum infantry they nearly all have multiple wounds and thus wouldn't go down immediately.

Honestly though the best solution to phosphex spam is just 5 myrmidon secutors in a triaros
>Transport is immune to shatter shells since AV 15
>Guys inside are relentless and can fire when they jump out
>Each guy can fire 6 str 6 AP 3 shots
Could disable a battery of quad guns in a single shooting phase

Anyone who thinks phosphex is an instant I win button is an idiot, it can be countered, the issue is that most lists don't have enough counters for highly specialized armies. It is the same reason why someone who fields 360 solar auxilia might be hard to defeat, or someone who takes armoured spearhead might be hard to defeat. The lists are too specialized for a general take all comers list to effectively deal with.

Attached: never forget.jpg (2018x2864, 453K)

The hero we need, but not the one deserves.

Phospex isn't an instant "I win" button. It's there to make terrain difficult to navigate and to wreck basic and elite infantry, while Siege Tyrants and Iron Havocs rape everything else.

there really needs to be a big ass conversion pack for Imperial Guard to give your generic Cadian template some flavor.

Same with the Astartes builds too, at least for posing. I like FW's effort for more than just the squat pose GW marines have but different positions/hands etc would be an insta buy for me. They already have the idea down with the specific Mk special weapon sets. Is it too much to ask for for alternate bodies?

Attached: Alpha Legion MkIV Torsos 1.jpg (800x680, 78K)

>It's there to make terrain difficult to navigate and to wreck basic and elite infantry
Which isn't an issue when your infantry outranges the phosphex or is in dedicated transports that cannot be killed by phosphex, siege tyrants, or iron havocs from the front. Also I am genuinely curious what kind of list you are envisioning, where you have significant amounts of phosphex but also significant amounts of siege tyrants and havocs.

Siege Breaker HQ with Hammer of Olympia RoW, After tje basic 3 tac squads, take something like 14-20 Siege Tyrants, 20 Iron Havocs with mostly lascannons but a few missile launchers, fill elites with phospex.

Shoot all the things.

Which legion would be best for fielding 6 full tactical squads?
One hundred twenty bolter dudes, how do I field them?

Imperial Fists by far.

Is there a definitive list of Mk IV power armor variants? Like the backpacks, helmets, bolters, etc?

Best legion is up to preference, but worst legion is unanimously Word Bearers.

Night Lords is fluffiest since you’ll constantly lose.

I believe you mean
>unanimously Space Wolves.

Imperial Fists are strong because they'll have BS 5, SoH will have boosted accuracy within 12 inches, WE and BA will have interesting melee bonuses if you get charged, IH have increased toughness at range, Salamanders+ Ultramarines + Word Bearers + IW + DG have probably the strongest morale. Make your choice after considering what lore, colours and style you prefer (as in, how do you support your infantry).

bolters don't matter. FW lists which variants are "supposed" to go with which Mk, but really they're all described as being uniquely fashioned by each legion's forges so you can fluff it to fit whatever Mk you want. Powerpacks are more or less locked into a certain Mk though and there's no difference within them besides special characters.

>Which legion is best legion?
Dank Angels.
>Which legion is worst legion?
The rest of them.

tactically best or not I just want to see 120 Death Guard or Iron Warriors march into guaranteed death, guns blazing.

There's an awful lot you can do if you know your bitz well enough. Example: Marine Scout heads are interchangeable with Cadian bodies,

For fucks sake, we don't WANT to have to kitbash and buy/trade bits, we want to have a versatile kit

I like converting shit, I just want more options is all. Also I feel like scout heads are too big for 'normal' proportions.

>Which legion is best legion?
My legion
>Which legion is worst legion?
Your legion

>unanimously Space Wolves
The Emperor never had to massacre a city to get Russ to start conquer planets.

So I made a quick-and-dirty, fluffy-but-weak list for Zone Mortalis representing an elite boarding party of Driftborn/people from a similar culture.
1K points
HQ:
Force Commander, Survivors of the Dark Age, Feral Warriors
- 160 points

Elites:
Ogryn Brute Squad, 6 Ogryn, carapace armour, power weapons (power mauls since they come in the kit, will probably convert one or three to axes)
- 370 points

Troops:
Grenadiers Squad, laslocks, Advanced Weapons, Blade and Fury, melta bombs on Sergeant
- 130 points

Grenadiers Squad, laslocks, Advanced Weapons, Blade and Fury, melta bombs on Sergeant
- 130 points

Leaving something like 210 points for something else. I plan to also include a box of Von Saar and/or Escher miniatures somehow, though I'm not sure as what, just yet. I don't want the list to take up a lot of space when stored, that is definitely a factor.

No, but Russ had to massacre a city to stop it from doing nothing wrong.

>nothing wrong
Ahriman pls go.

Are there any descriptions of the Rangdan floating around out there? I know they've sort of got a connection to the Slaugth but nothing beyond that.

As it stands now it could use something to kill dreadnoughts, so that's certainly an area to look into. Otherwise it is a good base, a big issue with militia in ZM (and in general) is the low costs of units resulting in you running out of points quickly.

What are the strongest ways to run 1k sons?

The models are kind of ugly, I don't recall land speeders ever being popular outside of pre-6th ed BT and DA, and probably some person disagrees but thinks it's a bit much.

Javelin Land Speeder with TL-Lascannons, HB and 2 Hunter Killers is only 75pts.
Yet, I never see them. Why?
They are cheap anti-tank, can easily flank, or just hide backfield. Never faced them, but getting 2 for 150pts,they look pretty decent at tank busting.

Attached: aa1.jpg (800x680, 79K)

Guard of the Crimson King w/ Magnus + Amon

Because one lascannon isn't particularly useful.

So Twin-Linked, BS 4 Lascannon to side armour and 2 S8 missiles isn't good?
Get a Xiphon instead for the price of 3.

Why bother with all this fizzing about, when you can simply blast them with a bunch of cyclone missile launchers or tankhunting lascannons?

All Legions should be Iron Warriors.

>So Twin-Linked, BS 4 Lascannon to side armour and 2 S8 missiles isn't good?
BS 5 due to strafing run. The issue is that 4 krak missiles is better than a lascannon and two krak missiles, if you are shooting at the side of something like a sicaran battle tank cyclone missiles work out to be slightly better and cheaper.

As an aside cyclones synergize better with hunter-killers if the enemy happens to lack vehicles to target, so they also work out better if you are facing a world eaters horde or something.

>All Legions should be Iron Warriors.
But Iron Warriors never accomplished anything.

Don't be daft. We killed piles of each other in the Dispute of Iron, and we almost didn't loose to 1/5 of the braggart sons of Dorn.

Is there a better Tank Hunter unit for Word Bearers then?
Need to take out AV14, sometimes Flare Shielded. Primais Lightning or Xiphon seem like my only means outside of CC. Have ~220pts to play with.

Sicaran Venator can still do that

You want destroyers with melta bombs. Jump packs make them faster, but they don't really need it. Just run them up the middle of the field. 4 units of 10 works out well.

I laughed. But then I got sad because I genuinely like Destroyers despite being insanely overpriced

Give me one (1) reason why your list doesn’t include a Malcador Infernus.

>Need to take out AV14, sometimes Flare Shielded
Lightning, deredeo, sicaran venator, I am sure there are more options that I missed. Barring those you could always repurpose assault units, a bike squad with meltabombs, a minimum sized assault squad with some meltabombs, or vets with meltabombs.

Xiphon is one of your best bets. I also use a Las Deredeo in most games and that fucker eats AV14.

I am also on the fence about Las Javelins, but earlier in this thread I was convinced to simply run Cyclone/HB/2x HK loadout; they’ll do way better against most things while Las is basically a specialist option that would be better off on said Deredeo or other tougher units.

It's a retarded design that goes way beyond the usual "rule of cool" into "what the fuck? how?"

Yeah, I used to include at least 1 unit of 10 with 2 missile launchers and melta bombs when listbuilding, often with jump packs, but people kept telling me they were shit so I got discouraged and removed them.

i have taste

Same. I would toss in a Powerfist too.

I love them to death and enjoy running them, but they either swing harshly into the realms of overperforming or well...under...

Wait, OVERperforming?

Share some stories, user. Don't forget context

Well I play Fists, and the BS5 Bolt Pistols are fun.

That being said, one of my best games with them was having them jump behind WE blobs and deleting about 9-15 of them a turn because of really well placed shots and lucky rolls. When I finally said “fuck it” I charged a LR squad and blew up both in one phase. After that they managed to kill off a Vet Squad of with more shooting.

That entire game they killed over 700+ points and didn’t lose a single guy.

Their worst was them failing to cause a single wound on Thralls, and then proceeded to fail 13 out of 20 armor saves the next phase.

Landspeeders with Graviton

Alternatively 4 Multimelta Attack Bikes with Meltabombs is 220 points.

I'm a metal/plastic baby who refuses to give himself cancer and die like the Bligh.

So I've decided since I have everything I nearly care to own for my Ordo Reductor army, I am going to add an allied detachment for my army at the siege of Terra, the basic idea being that after fighting their way to Terra (and regularly retreating to Terra) the army was forced to abandon its heavy vehicles and automata leaving only a handful of infantry. So I decided that they linked up with the white scars and proceeded to help fuck the traitors in the ass. So this is the idea for my army.

Archmagos Reductor (dual power fists, augury scanner, cyber-familiar, rad grenades, three phosphex bombs, machinator array, abeyant): 330 Points

6 Thallax (2 Plasma-Fusils): 275 Points
6 Thallax (2 Plasma-Fusils): 275 Points
6 Thallax (2 Plasma-Fusils): 275 Points
6 Thallax (2 Plasma-Fusils): 275 Points

5 Myrmidon Destructors (Photon Thrusters): 390 Points

>Allied Detachment, White Scars Chogorian Brotherhood

Praetor (Bolt Pistol, Paragon Blade, Digital Lasers, Iron Halo, Bike): 190 Points

9 Outriders (Sergeant, 4 total power axes, Meltabombs): 370 Points
9 Outriders (Sergeant, 4 total power axes, Meltabombs): 370 Points

5 Attack Bikes (Autocannons, Meltabombs): 250 Points

3000 Points

The basic idea is that myrmidons (joined by the archmagos) start on the table joined by some mixture of outriders, attack bikes, and thallax (everything can deepstrike or outflank so I have options). Myrmidons focus on killing heavy infantry with long range photon thruster fire, thallax hunt marines and light vehicles. Attack bikes hunt light vehicles and outriders (one of which is joined by the praetor) finishes off any units that need to be killed. Any bike unit can also assault tanks. I feel like the attack bikes might be redundant with the thallax but I like the additional meltabomb unit, so I may decide to drop them and some miscellaneous wargear (phosphex bombs, iron halo) and see if I can fit in a dedicated command squad and maybe some biker apothecaries.

hello I'm building Death Guard and I want you to tell me what I should do to it:

Creeping Death RoW 2500

Typhon
Siege Breaker in AA

1 x Quad Mortar with Phosphex Shells

3 x Deathshroud in LR Phobos with AC (Typhon goes here)

10 x Tacticals in a Rhino

15 x Breachers 3 with Flamers or Meltas

5 x Grave Wardens in a LR Phobos with AC

5 x HS Squad with Autocannons (Siege Breaker sits here)

1 x Deredeo? with Autocannons and Missiles

1 x Typhon Tank for Twin Typhon Poetry

I figure breachers are less shit with a 5+ cover save in the open, and I have 15 of them I'm painting and they look too cool not to use. Maybe I could drop the Grave Wardens or Deathshroud and slap them in a LR instead?

What do you plan to use to kill tanks? Typhon plus two AC land raiders is pretty expensive at 2500 points, you might want to drop the typhon to bulk up some of your units, since your units are mostly pretty small and will die pretty easily.

That's a good point. I took the typhon because I'm a sucker for centerpiece lord of wars and it has a fuckhuge gun.

If you love the typhon so much you could alternatively drop the land raiders. Grave Wardens might be able to do fine just shambling up the table, although deathshrouds may still need something. Pretty much if I was to rework your list the three main ways I would change it would be
A. drop the typhon, bulk up breachers, add another deathshroud, and swap autocannons for lascannons on deredeo
B. Keep the typhon, drop the land raiders, and reinvest those points on bulking up both deathshrouds and grave wardens as well as making the deredeo a lascannon deredeo (this list would be significantly slower)
C. Drop the typhon and breachers, make the deredeo a lascannon deredeo, and add more tactical squads in rhinos for seizing forward objectives, invest any remaining points on heavy weapons and/or quad mortars (no need to spam phosphex shatter shells are brutal against light and medium armour)

C is certainly the biggest change and might deviate too much from the idea of your list, in which case disregard it.

Working on an IF Centurion for a small local campaign.

What are you all working on?

Your mother (sick mini btw)

I run two. They do ok. I add a multimelta, sometimes it's clutch, sometimes it's useless.

Realized I have many bikes sitting around. Time to make all the Ravenwing squads for my 40k army. Protip: Bikes need to be redone and the metal Ravenwing bodies don't really fit.

I run 6, with another 3 carrying cyclones.

I wouldn't mind some speeders, but puppers don't like flying and The Reaping only gives me 1 FA, which I'd rather spend on bikers.

>puppers don't like flying
Is this actually the case in 30k, or is it 40k lore that's been assumed to be the case in 30k? Because I don't remember reading that in Inferno.

reminds me of that joke about why the blind don't skydive (coz it scares the dogs). Fuckin yiffs, good rules wasted on terrible fluff and retarded characters.

Since there was no clarification as to what best meant I've listed a few.

>Which legion is best legion?
In no order
Sons of Horus
Dark Angels
Ultramarines
Thousand Sons
Imperial Fists

>Which legion is worst legion?
In no order
Word Bearers
Night Lords
World Eaters
Space Wolves
Alpha Legion

I've been trying to figure that one out, but so far no hard answers, so I've decided to err on the side of caution. Either way, with Seekers, Bikes and soon a Termite, my FA is pretty full as is.

WIP of my militia commander, much fancier than my regular dudes, which are bretonnian archers with skitarii rifles

Attached: Militia commander WIP.jpg (1233x1581, 182K)

>1000 points of thallax
>reductor but no reductor artillery
>axes over glaives

I see where you're coming from with your fluff but any reductor archmagos will sacrifice their thallax before abandoning all it's good toys.

beautiful

Damn that looks pretty rad user

That's really cool looking. The BA head doesn't look oversized either. Is he holding his helmet in the crook of his arm, there?

But their artillery aren't their good toys, the entry for the artillery battery even mentions how the ordo reductor see their vehicles as expendable.

How is the Xiphon a good bet against Flare Shielded AV14?

How come the MEGA still has super out dated red books?

cos no one updates it, you're free to do it yourself if you want.

lets see those infantry dudes

its not, the shitty plane is garbage

I don’t have access to the MEGA.

Nah, the Xiphon is great at what it does, but what it does a dozen things can do almost as well and are able to also fill other roles. The Xiphon is an interceptor, it kills planes and it is good at that, but a lightning can kill planes easily too, but it can also engage heavy vehicles on the ground effectively.

The Xiphon really should be cheaper to make up for its highly specialized role, like 150 points. Put simply a xiphon kills planes, for about the same price a lightning kills both planes and ground vehicles, slightly weaker in the former role but massively superior in the latter role.

This

Attached: 20180320_165041.jpg (4128x3096, 3.3M)

hurt my neck lookin, but worth it

I know..... but never been able to fix it, my Internet skills are weak...

Seeing if I can build an earthshaker/medusa platform to fit on a rhino chassis

so it's great but other things perform better and cost noticeably less. gotcha.

A message that remains eternally lost on the salescreatures that have been in change of the company since the 90s.

No, it is the best interceptor in the game hands down. The problem is that interceptors aren't needed much. A lightning kitted out with 4 kraken missiles and a twin-linked autocannon is worse at killing flyers than the Xiphon, however it is good enough for that role and has the added benefit of killing heavy tanks reliably.

I suppose my assessment of the xiphon was slightly wrong in one regard however, it should have the interceptor special rule so it can target enemy flyers coming in from reserve, would make it more useful in its role as an interceptor, picking off enemy flyers before they can fire off their load.

>xiphon interceptor
>should have interceptor
Whoa, slow down Eisenstien.

Reading miscomprehension seems to go hand-in-hand with glibness around these parts.

Would Tyranids be fun to play against in ZM games using 30k rules?
They have interesting monsters and stuff, and though such a matchup would be as unfluffy as can be, Legions vs xeno monstrosities sounds like a good time.

Attached: 1521561923048.jpg (3096x4128, 2.7M)

Maybe use their 7e rules and convert some models to be environmental hazards to two players already doing a ZM game.

Attached: fixed.gif (774x1032, 1.34M)

Hot damn, that's pretty. That's easily one of the best takes on Sons-of-Horus Green I've seen.
The topknot is a nice touch, and adding some contrasting colour via the checker pattern is great.
I don't suppose you have a picture of more of the army?

Aye, I was thinking something along those lines. Just letting people use 'nids if they want might work too.

Thanks to the instinctive behaviour chart, it should be pretty easy to run nids as NPC elements in a game.
