What Kobolds do you prefer, dog or dragon?
Other urls found in this thread:
Reptilian/dragon, if I wanted wolf or dog girls I'd just make another race that was like Holo.
I like both, Cobolds and Kobolds
I don't use kobolds often, but mine have been a mix of reptilian Humaniod rats with one or 2 dog like features.
Like some kind of lazy yet unique creature.
Classic rat-lizards with dog-shaped heads.
I prefer them as dog-lizard-rat-goblins.
Come to think of it, most dogbolds are either generic wolf dwarves or other generic middle-length snouted dogs.
But what if they based dogbolds on longbois?
Conversely, what if they based dogbolds on bulldogs or pugs?
We already have Dragonborn and Lizardmen, so give me dogbolds.
Neither. Hutzelmann for me.
Trash opinion.
I prefer to remove dragonborns because they lack tails so better off with kobolds as dragon people.
Dragonborn have tails if you choose to believe they have tails.
I thought the dog "kobolds" were called gnolls?
Scaly dogs, really.
>We already have Dragonborn
No. No, we don't.
Gnolls are hyenas. Dogbolds are Japanese.
Depictions of kobolds in old school D&D had doglike qualities, so I guess it depends on how doglike you're talking about.
Gnolls are man sized, Kobolds are halfling sized
I'm fond of 5e's for for finding the balance between dog and lizard. 3e-4e is what was used as the template for modern fetish Kobolds though.
2e's are good if you want a better revisited dog form. See revised.
>catbolds
Alone in the world is a little catbold!
damn, that bitch got an instagram?
Nasty little gnomish guys that steal gold from mines and replace it with cobalt.
>gnomish
No thanks. It’s bad enough gnomes exist as a player race. We don’t need 100 variations of them, even if it’s more accurate to “muh folklore.”
Really, gnomes need to go back to being elementals instead of just smaller, more annoying dwarfs.
>dog has a collar and a pony tail
...no penis. Not today. Not ever.
I have a soft spot for dogbolds, mainly because I was introduced to them by the Ragnarok Online game.
Dragon.
dead
Dragon. They've had scales and laid eggs since 1st edition, so it just makes sense. Although, lately, I'm wondering if I can steal the bunny-lizard hybrid look without Veeky Forums kacking its collective spaz.
Lizard dogs
Mine are horrible little bat-mole goblins who live in mines and caves, and get along by stealing shit from surface dwellers and selling it to other deep folk or dungeon delvers. They're the sort to snuff your torches, rob you blind, then try to sell you your own gear at a huge markup
Mine are usually more dog-like in appearance, but with scales. Their goal as a species is to try to ascend to dragonhood. This manifests as an inferiority complex, especially when my players refer to them as 'dogs'.
5es lizardbolds that actually reflect the old lore and art for them. None of the stupid bullshit art like the weird goblin thing or the godawful DiTerlizzi shit that ignore the description for their weird interpretations.
They've always been vaguely lizardy being creatures with doglike heads (meaning vaguely shaped like a dogs head) and ratlike tails (meaning vaguely shaped like a rats tail) and covered in scales from the tip of their snout to the tip of their tails, very much like a lizard.
Fuck the mistranslation based dogbolds of Japan.
Jesus fuck that image is infectiously happy.
>human with dog ears
>wolf
no
Yeah and that's were the japanese confusion came from.
They misunderstood, or else purposefully changed to fit with their established animal-people culture, dog-faced as dog-race/dog-people.
>reflect the old... art for them
More like just changes the 3rd edition lizardbolds into even more of little dragonfolk.
For fucks sake they've been turned into dragongnomes.
A mix of both, pure lizard and pure dog are shit
I will hate on 5e's art in many circumstances... but that is one of their better pieces. And I admit I prefer Pathfinder's kobold aesthetic to 5e's, as a general rule of thumb.
Seriously, there is a fuckton to hate about 5e, but their kobold art isnt one of them.
Also, synapsid kobolds are awesome too.
Pudu
Just once, man. Fortune cookie says: you're allowed a harmless little fantasy.
murderSmurfs
There is only one way out of this argument
compromise
Best of both worlds.
>lalkor the fuckdragon
I can't remember where I saw the image, but one showed kobolds as more lizard-like instead of weird mutant whatever things
Probably some Pathfinder book
More like qtu
>how do you do kobolds
The short, thicc ones on my dick
Dog.
I feel like kobolds that serve dragons should resemble them, but otherwise small goblin motherfuckers
Unironically I'd fully accept Dogbolds if they were all Pomeranian/small breed dogs.
youtube.com
Pomeranian wielding short swords and shields
Pugs with brass knuckles
Chihuahuas dual wielding knife
Tall and lanky Saluki archers
two-handed Axe/Hammer Chow Chows
What the humans in my setting call kobolds are about in the middle of the dog-lizard spectrum
Have a good night boywsssssss.
Dogbolds
dog lizard rat things...
Excellent taste
one of my players is a weeb who makes me make dogbolds. I like both though.
larger than mansized, knolls are like 7-8 feet.
The best kind
cutebolds
I don't really like kobolds. Maybe I'm wrong, and Veeky Forums's welcome to show me how, but I don't really see any place for kobolds that I can't use goblins for instead.
I'm with you there friendo. Kobolds are just shitty goblins for furfags.
We already have gnolls so give me lizardbolds
DnD kobolds despise gnomes. Apparently a gnomish god trapped their god in a cave.
That's a fukken cute dog
Dog. It's not close.
Dog because monmusu and MGE.
back to dfg with you
Creepy underground thing that looks like a mix of a goblin, rat, and imp.
gnolls are hyenas not dogs
Why both both?
