Not the good parts.

I miss Warlords Era so much.

Attached: Cam_Kennedy.jpg (1000x740, 279K)

Yeah the combat in that was pretty good.

I just wish more of the comics covered how the New Republic army operated and what warmachines they used.

Attached: SD10.jpg (1250x925, 496K)

Anyone have that picture of Rule 63 Krennic/Tarkin/Thrawn/Hux?

Those comics were the shit

IMO, the Imperial Civil War is the best era to run a Star Wars campaign in. It has all the familiar stuff from the movies, like Stormtroopers, TIE Fighters, X-Wings, etc., but has a lot more wiggle room for players to do stuff in than during the movies.

Hell, it's even possible to justify a party with both New Republic and Imperial characters; the Imperials are members of a warlord faction looking to ally with the New Republic, and has sent the players with a New Republic team to show that cooperation is entirely possible. If a player wants to be a Jedi, they can be a student at Luke's Praxeum.

Want the players to take down a BBEG Imperial? Random break-away warlord.

Want the players to be part of the project of rebuilding a government? New Republic agents attempting to restore order to a chaotic post-Palpatine galaxy, fighting rogue Imperials, crazed secessionists, and negotiating alliances.

What would be best miniature option for a RPG?
LEGO, collectable miniatures, miniatures from the wargames, action figures, something else?
I also would welcome pros and cons and overall estimation of cost for a decent selection of PC, NPC and enemies.

Planning to run Old Republic, Pre-Clone Wars and Jedi Academy era games.

Successor Period is the best, really. Immediately after the Civil War so everyone's not asking stupid questions like "shouldn't we be helping with the Death Star or something?" when they shouldn't know about it. On top of everything good you just said, but a warlord or Remnant doesn't have to be a breakaway that the Empire might deal with if your players fail; they're just their own faction in the middle of space.

Pretty slick ref sheet they've got there. That and the Learn to Play guide should answer most of the babby level questions that newbies have.

Haha what if le hans child, remember han, haha we must take everything from the movie because muh monies, oh and hans kid turn le evil.

I hate most of the EU and new lore because it all runs of cheap ripoff ideas from the movie hype rather than be original and use the setting to make new things.

???

You do know that Jacen Solo was written much earlier than Ben Solo, right?

Fully Operational soon my boys.

Time to make all the retarded uglies of your dreams

I think it's safe to say that most of us have our own post-OT setting we prefer to play in. In what I've noticed, it's usually based in EU with some things left in or some things added based on player action or what your headcanon entails.

What does your Star Wars look like, /swg/? What have you added to the post-Civil War world? If anything, what have you borrowed from NU or the Sequel Trilogy?

>rather than be original and use the setting to make new things.

I like the EU and that is one of my gripes with the new Canon.

People hyped this new Canon up as being superior to EU, yet when it arrived I'm left with the impression of:

> "Is this the best they can do?.
> (Thoughtful silence)
> "Pathetic!".

They're too predictable with the films and the other material makes the mistake of being boring, aside from Commander.

Attached: TN-3465_portrait.png (630x840, 740K)

I plan to have Hux and Paleon get in a petty slap fight.

Nobody lives.

>Crazy seccesionists
Were there actually nutso Separatist types after the New Republic came to be who were all "We don't want a part of the Republic or the Empire"? That seems like a real neat story, a bunch of Republic guys fighting people who are rebelling against them for some reason or another, using all the same kinds of guerrilla tactics they did?

I had Daala murder basically all of the upper command early and keep the Empire broadly united.
Then she ended up fighting Thrawn and the Empire of the Hand anyway because the Empire is nothing if divided.

There was also a bunch of independence movements and shit that sprang up in the wake of the New Republic's victory, so they're a hell of a lot more fractured and having much more trouble keeping control over everything than in the regular timeline. They've also never really known peace with Daala's Empire putting up way more of a fight than the clean up that was the Warlord Era. All in all everything is in a lot more turmoil, because toppling dictators is a messy business dammit.
Also no Palp clones. Fuck that shit. Trioculus is a separate faction all on his own though.

Yeah, that probably doesn't make any sense for those of you who know legends properly, but whatever, it was fun to play in and served the purposes of the campaign.
The thing I stole from the ST were their aesthetics for costumes and such. Nothing much of note unless you count Canto Bight, but I had the casino planet episode before seeing TLJ, so it wasn't ripped so much as a co-incidence.

Separatist sentiment remains pretty strong all throughout the reign of the Empire. It's more or less a lawless land, which is why the Empire comes down so hard on them any time we see an Outer Rim planet. I don't think it's too hard to imagine there being a swath of independent planets during the Successors Period.

Tallie/TN-3465 fanfic when?

Attached: salute.jpg (1024x1024, 174K)

It's said the CIS possibly made a come back in new Canon post Endor.

The WotC minis were pretty decent, the right size for 1-inch grids, and you can get most of them pretty cheap online now- the generic ones anyway. Some of the major named NPC's would be more expensive, but you don't really need those for the most part.

I'm working on a Tallie story, but it's not slash.

What even are /ourgirl/'s main character traits? What are her flaws?

>he'd do it because he would

This still isn't an argument. Even in the NU where Palps' morality is much more on the nose and he's much more of a full-on open asshole to everyone, he's still shown to be a competent politician and a schemer/planner/manipulator. As much as Disney likes to ignore it, the Prequels are also part of "their" universe, and in those Prequels Palpatine acts very intelligently in most cases, patiently waiting to execute a plan he's spent a chunk of his life formulating. When you get into the NU material where he's this blundering and spiteful dickhead who tortures Vader for shits n' giggles the clash of character becomes all the more apparent, and Cinder is the pinnacle of it. This dude who's given his life to build a government, HIS government, to stand for the rest of time blows it up in a heartbeart because he died.

The same-in-name character whose EU counterpart put in a dozen contingency measures and developed a legion of his own clones to PREVENT the Empire from collapsing if he died, and who then returns and gathers straggled remains of the Empire and overnight turns them into a threat that nearly topples the New Republic before deus ex machina kicks in.

EU Palpatine would kick NU Sheev in the balls and call him a shitlord. Saying his NU rendition would suddenly be this bumbling, braindead and petulant cunt not only goes against his EU character, but also his very character from the fucking movies, which again, Disney seems to forget are STILL part of their continuity.

Their entire plot point is based on a flimsy-ass historical analogue and relies on a character assassination and suspension of disbelief to be acceptable, and after all the hoops they jump through and all the logic they take up the ass raw, what do we get from it? Their same recycled story between two factions of morons we don't care about. Because Disney doesn't have an original bone in their fucking body.

Bravo Kennedy.

Nothing in any of the movies establishes motivations for Sheev, so both Sheevs are plausible depending on why he sought power and his personal philosophy.

My dude.

Thanks. Of major named NPC I would likely only use Traya, Luke, Katarn and prolly Mara. Do they have a line of generic smugglers/pirates/mercenaries? Oh, also Zabrak jedi and Togruta merc, since two of the players want to play them, although I of course can glue the horns on or something.

No trips, but you've spoken the truth.

Attached: 1507343574607.png (854x477, 334K)

That's a fair point, though I'd say given the OT/PT Sheev would lean more towards the EU machiavelli manipulator type rather than the NU fuk u im evil for the lulz lol type.

Doesn't the new Lore say that Palptine designed the Empire to be miserable and crappy to feed his dark side power or something?

Yep.

Attached: 1511060150027.jpg (1024x942, 139K)

It's in universe speculation that puts the idea out IIRC

Why?

So /swg/- I'm trying to make an X-wing mission campaign. My one issue i'm having is "How do I make Wookiee Spam not viable"?

I keep coming up with missions that make ships like the A wing, TIE Fighter, Interceptor, and T65 useful, and I keep realizing that Wookiees are fucking amazing at them. Do I just have a targeted nerf for Wookiees?

The machinations of Disney are beyond comprehension, user.

I already gave and last thread. Want the rest of the timeline up to 40something ABY?

Assign some sort of currency and rarity value to each ship to limit the access to less standard ships?

Not what I'm asking "Why" about.

No forgiveness for Phasma. Not after murdering the cute TIEfu.

What're you asking 'why' about, user?

You talking EU or Disney? Because if it's the former, you're thinking of the shitshow that was Legacy of the Force, and if it's the latter, Wendig brought up a "New Confederacy" in passing in one of the Aftermath books.

That's some good shit. I may actually use that in a game.

I see her as the Star Wars equivalent of Peppermint Patty. Spunky tomboy who's close to her dad and has a major soft side.

So who's the subordinate who's in lesbians with Tallie-sama?

Attached: 121009blog_PPatty.jpg (450x341, 21K)

Stop

How much better than the Z-95 is the T-65? Both in lore and on the tabletop?

>Making a waifu a lesbian
It's like you miss the point of waifus.

Firstly, the Force is not gated to any 'Force sensitives', the Force is universal and and anyone can, given the right training and state of mind, can use it.

The Jedi act far more like the archetypes they were originally based on, wandering heroes with mystical power helping those in need. Occasionally, Jedi would end up settling down in an area and eventually amassing wealth and power due only to the fact that they are Jedi, eventually resulting in some planets having their entire culture revolve around the existance of Jedi nobility. And Jedi are the only Force sect to have Lightsabers.

The Sith are the traditional tentacled red-skinned sorcerors from Tales of the Jedi, usually but not always evil. They have roaming bands of followers that usually end up as full nomad fleets wandering the galaxy, at least two of these fleets have ended up in control of the territory of an Imperial Warlord.

The actual state of the galaxy doesn't differ much from early Legends stuff, which is good since I've pretty much retconned the entirety of the Clone Wars into what's basically WW1 in space. The Confederacy still exists, as a relatively large independant state which popped up around the time Palpatine returned, with all the good stuff we love it for.

Attached: TheRide.jpg (1920x912, 216K)

"A" waifu doesn't have to mean "waifu for author self-insertion"

You know, I know, intellectually, that what I'm seeing is Leia holding the haft of Vima-Da-Boda's lightsaber upright in her hands, in the background of the vision she's experiencing of Luke having turned to the Dark Side and become the Emperor's apprentice.

But my heart of hearts, I can't help also seeing this picture as Luke rockin' a dope fez.

>Firstly, the Force is not gated to any 'Force sensitives'

I mean who do lesbians have to waifu? Sloane? Their choices are fuckin' limited man, let 'em dream.

>I mean who do lesbians have to waifu?
There are dozens upon dozens of starships to choose from, user.

I want to be a mercenary pilot flying a t-65 or t-70 out of an Outer Heaven-style old Venator being kept together with love and duct tape.

Why is my life pain, guys.

Because there's too much hate and not enough love in the world. Hate won't keep that old Venator together.

My Star Wars campaign setting is largely similar to Legends, but with a few things modified.

Notable modifications (excuse my autism),
>Vong may exist, but not really relevant to me at the moment. As far as I'm concerned, the Pellaeon-Gavrisom Treaty established the first period of peace the galaxy had seen since before the Clone Wars.
>The Dathomiri and Mandalorians exist as they did prior to TCW. Same with Ventress' and Maul's backstories, but they're not exactly relevant to my campaign.
>The Force Unleashed largely did not happen, although Kota lives on as a teacher at Luke's Praxeum/NJO. Juno Eclipse is somewhere, but haven't really put her anywhere yet.
>A very small CIS holdout exists in a sector I've developed for an upcoming campaign post-RotJ, led by Sev'rance Tann and Mar-Tuuk.
>The Great Galactic War as depicted in the SWTOR timeline videos occurs, but the actual game stories largely do not.
>>The Eternal Empire existed, but under much different circumstances (thinking about having my players stumble across a world that was founded by Zakuul colonists and hid themselves from the galaxy). I really loved the Eternal Empire as a concept, as well as its aesthetics, but it was not well used.
>T-70 X-Wings, RZ-2 A-Wings exist.

Attached: Zakuulan Knight.jpg (1920x1264, 472K)

Patty wanted Chuck you dingus

In Legends? Not particularly. But it's entirely reasonable for them to try and seize power after the Empire fractures, which makes some good campaign fodder.

That's what the duct tape is for. Trust in the rust, my dude.

IIRC there is actually space tape in SW and it's fucking amazing.

>>T-70 X-Wings exist.
dropped

Endor goes mostly the same, minus that IG-88 bullshit, but when the Death Star is destroyed its wreckage falls onto Endor, rendering the planet into a near-wasteland. Everyone on the ground, Imperial and Rebel alike, is presumed dead.

Both sides reel from their losses, especially of the Emperor, Vader, and Piett on the Imp side, and Leia, Han, and numerous veteran SpecForce on the Reb side.

Luke is nowhere to be seen. He is assumed by Rebel leadership to have ventured down to Endor as the DSII went kablmao to get to Leia and the rest. He is not seen or heard from again.

Palps' death causes mixed reactions. Sort of life the "enhanced edition" celebration scenes except not stupid. Worlds especially in the Core go up in fervent anti-Rebel protests and Coruscant in particular goes into a state of quiet mourning for both Palps and the crew of the DSII. Some planets especially in the Outer Rim cheer it and some join the Rebellion outright

In response to Emp's death and the acquisition of several system suddenly, Mothma hastily declares the New Republic, granting herself its administration until the Empire signs a treaty or is destroyed. This provokes internal conflict, with a particularly notable opponent being Garm, who accused Mothma of powergrabbing. The assumed death of three of their major figures wracks the Republic's morale.

Empire doesn't fare much better, and warlording camps soon emerge, three primary ones being a group blamng the Empire's failures on its wanton spending and over-centralization (led by Pellaeon and Veers), the other believing the Empire wasn't harsh enough on the Rebellion and needs to recommence an offensive (Thrawn, Mara Jade), and another who believes any attempt at taking leadership or splintering is treason and the Empire must remain together (Daala, Zsinj).

Empire breaks out into civil war quickly and the Rebellion teeters on it, with Garm planning to form a breakway faction to depose Mothma.

1/2

Nah, dude, get fucked. A straight upgrade is way better than a million different T-65s. Hell, some of them can exist, but an outright improvement is inevitable.

Besides, the T-70 looks a lot more like the original X-Wing art, so it's pretty kino in my books.

Attached: original x-wing.jpg (1280x960, 285K)

Wanking over Muh Quarrie is one of the reasons why I dislike it. Those were concept designs, never intended to be put into the film because they just didn't work well. Those split wings are a really bad design. There's loads of fan-made X-Wings out there that would arguably do the job better.

A few in the Republic, especially Ackbar who'd witnessed Endor firsthand, believe Luke may still be alive, and soon a heroic cult of personality is built around Luke even stronger than before, and they believe that if he lives, he may be able to prevent the New Republic from breaking out into a civil war of its own, and thus begin seeking him out.

Mothma is opposed to the idea, believing Luke may threaten her position of power she's ascended to. She's not full-evilpowerhungry, but she believes her way is the only way.

Meanwhile, reports come in of a mysterious extragalactic force being spotted near the far borders of Wild Space. Something is out there.

Luke may or may not yet live, and how he is now is up to anyone's speculation, and where he is.

tl;dr
>ICW but with a good chunk of EU lore cut out
>ST/RO/DisnEU is removed entirely, only a few weapons, vehicles, designsm etc. carrying over and the idea of finding Luke
>galaxy is in a similar position with Imp warlords but the New Republic's own position is very shakry and they're about to implode
>Vong are quietly observing
>Palp is dead, maybe or maybe not clones
>Vader, Leia, Han, Chewey, and everyone else on Endor is kaput
>multiple planets begin rising up in self-independence movements

Overall, slightly grimmer galaxy without going full 40k.

Quarrie art is tops, though. And in this case, the X-Wing is perfectly fine. It looks sleeker, more dangerous; obviously in reference to the shift from aircraft like the F4 to those like the F16. F15 to the F22. It manages sleek and simple without going full-on iShip, which is nice.

What's more, if you're going to suggest that fan X-Wings would do it better, why not provide some examples?

what comics are these?

So is that armor, shield, and saberstaff lightsaber-resistant?

Fans aren't professional concept artists, like Star Wars as a franchise can afford to hire boatloads of.
I'm with the other user, I don't like continuously re-using Quarrie art if only because it feels like returning to the same watering hole, y'know?

Here's one, I think this is meant to be one of the XJs.

Attached: d93519dcc194d14d67096c228e18461b.jpg (400x294, 65K)

Attached: Stealthx.jpg (880x573, 53K)

Heavier armament for starter, 4 Laser cannons instead of two, plus torpedo launchers, better engines and shields. In lore T-65 was major improvement in pretty much every way over Z-95.

I'm not saying use him for everything. I don't like Quarrie's Y-Wings, off the top of my head. But a sleeker and more predatory X-Wing based on his more sports-car X-Wing is a perfectly good idea.

Not enough changed to justify calling it anything other than another T-65, whereas

I buy that this could be a stealth-oriented X-Wing model.

The issue with delving perpetually deeper into McQuarrie art is that you are hitting the designs that were too shit to make the cut.

Another XJ Wing.

Attached: XJwing.jpg (956x670, 66K)

Dark Empire

This looks like an ugly Z-95 with secondhand S-foils.

The should have some figures you can use as smuggler, mercs, etc. I think there's at least one Zabrak. I forget about Togruta. They at least have Shaak Ti that you can use. For named, I know they have Luke, Mara, and Kyle Katarn.

I love this one. A bit too futuristic, it would work for like 100 years after Endor, but not 10.

The next one will be a T-70 style that makes sense.

Attached: incom_x_14_twin_suns_by_shoguneagle-d9bhp7r.jpg (1600x887, 246K)

And so did Marcie, for that matter.

Here, a X-Wing styled after the T-70 that doesn't have flimsy wings and split intakes.

Attached: incom_frei_tek_t_65c_x_wing_plus_by_shoguneagle-db6csc8.jpg (1600x850, 214K)

THIS

There's a reason Quarrie's shit was rejected. It didn't make the actual cut for the movie and was redesigned into a more complete design.

Your ideas are terrible absolutely dreadful.

Attached: 1521334710913.jpg (330x345, 27K)

As much as I hate the whole "Lesbian Patty" meme, I wouldn't be opposed to a cute alien ground tech/flight officer/etc girl.

Attached: Rebel Officer 10.png (400x373, 136K)

If it didn't have the split-wings I'd have a hard time telling it's supposed to be an X-Wing. I doubt Incom would carry the design on long enough for it to turn into this.

It would work fine, I suppose. If given no choice I guess I wouldn't rage against it. I actually prefer the split intakes on the final T-70, and the wing design doesn't offend me all that much. The cannons on this pic look way too thick and stubby for my tastes. Overall I prefer the T-70 we got. The sleekness on that one felt more natural, whereas this guy is working with so many hard angles I'd suspect he was a dwarf from the Hobbit.

You guys seem to assume we're saying that just because was a good design that all his work is good. That's not the point here. Assume that when I say "the T-70 looks a lot more like the original X-Wing art, so it's pretty kino in my books," I am saying that I really like that piece of art, not every single concept done by that artist.

i dont know if anyone even cares naymore but might as well spread the news about this shitty game

Attached: we did it reddit.png (747x874, 603K)

I still think it's fun. I wish the starfighter combat wasn't so shitty.

>le 40 hours meme
>le "shitty game haha!!!"

Nothing can salvage this shit game.

You should feel ashamed, disgracing Legend of the Galactic Heroes with your shilling like that.

Attached: your very existence.png (600x450, 386K)

0/10

You should be ashamed posting pictures of the FPA while spreading disinformation and shilling for Blizzard.

it's just a strongly mediocre game

the gunplay is actually fun, but the hero-unit-points system, objectives, maps, etc are all hyper lame

He who controls the bait controls the universe.

Attached: Bait is the mind-killer.png (600x600, 17K)

Looks like we have a wild /swco/ refugee. They are literally the only people on the internet that will defend this shit game.

Attached: 1521255378604.jpg (1600x775, 273K)

The shield and shaft are, but I don't believe the armor is.

Yeah, all these Blizzard shills are getting really tiring. Can't go anywhere without them lying about the game to get attention off of Overwatch. A shame, really.
