Anyways who all picked up Legion last night? I've got one core set dryfit but I discovered I only actually own plastic glue so I can't work on assembly and customization until tonight. Looking to get a 400 point game or two in Saturday, though.

That is one sweet looking card

So what colour are you going to paint your storm troopers /swg/?

Our girl you say?

Sup /swg/- I go forth on my second attempt to get a Coruscant Invite today. Here's hoping I can add Sienar to the game!

Good luck, my dude

Fuck me I wish I knew. I'm not doing the canon white scheme so I'm just in limbo waiting to see somebody else paint something that captures my imagination.

But by and large,The Last Jedi’s examination of gender politics does fit into this trilogy’s message that the true heirs to the power in this universe are not white men like Hux and Kylo but women and people of color. ThoughThe Last Jedibegan filming in early 2016—in other words, long before a referendum onDonald Trumpvs.Hillary Clintoninformed every aspect of American storytelling—it’s impossible to ignore the parallels on screen here.

i'm gonna paint them like stormtroopers because that's what they are

What's the stat block here?

Attached: tlj5.webm (1500x626, 673K)

The film’s progressive ideology is alreadyticking offsome calcified corners of the fandom—the kind of fans who dismissed Ridley’s heroic Rey as a too-powerful “Mary Sue” after the last film. But just because someStar Warslovers are out of reach for the message this movie delivers, there is still hope for a new generation. Just like that kid at the end ofThe Last Jedi, holding his broom aloft and wearing the resistance jewelry left behind by Rose, an entire generation of youngStar Warswatchers will remember the brave, smart, capable women ofThe Last Jedi—and the consequences of doubting their leadership.

At least when they were still using Clone Trooper armor they were still willing to play around with color schemes. Not sure if these are forerunners of the later Deathtrooper elite assholes from Rogue One or if the Inquisitorius gets their own donut steel color designs.

Reminds me of the Shadowtroopers.

Attached: RCO016-2.jpg (1041x1600, 506K)

Considering the shuttle used a similar black/red color scheme favored by the Inquisitors it's probably just the Inquisitorius' thing.

Attached: RCO015-1.jpg (1041x1600, 424K)

>FORCE SENSITIVE - Y

because his mom was, obviously

Before she went crazy old cat lady, Laura was a bit of a hottie in her younger days

>Here's hoping I can add Sienar to the game!
That's kind of a non-PG addition, hell it might be easier to add boobies to the game

Attached: Ramming speed.jpg (600x428, 102K)

Early rebels played with this a bit. I remember black pauldron guys showing up with Tarkin several times, including the team sent to regain control of his personal Star Destroyer after an EMP knocked it out along with the Stormtroopers aboard. Later mostly replaced with Deathtroopers.

Wook isn't being super helpful at providing details on what the pauldron designates.
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Pauldron

Not saying Rebels invented it, but previously a thing mostly linked to Sand Troopers as I recall. Early Rebels is the only time I recall them acting as de facto elites guarding high value officers and acting basically like commando squads.

Attached: 0b69ef1c11bd3e6923171124ed67b958c4049bc3_hq.gif (500x259, 864K)

Also had to look up Thrawn having his own dudes. A decorated Star Destroyer hull, his own Stormtrooper brand insignia. Man, rank has its privileges.

Empire really loves that white armor, though. Really hates recoloring it in favor of rank/specialist designating accessories.

Attached: d4F1Z.png (563x364, 181K)

Can I take two of the same actions? Two Shooting? Two move? Two Dodge? It's a bit shit that the full rules aren't in the core box

There are no ranks or specialists. There are only E-11s and bodies that aim them.

One thing I want to do for the Legion campaign I'm considering writing is giving the players access to a pool of units/squadrons they can deploy for various purposes alongside general terrain suggestions, like "use lots of tall terrain, following these guidelines: XYZ", causing the player to send out squads of speeders and grappling hook troopers, etc. Hopefully over time something like that would give each squad a kinda unique personality, like the squad you always send out on swamp missions who you can relate to as "the miserable assholes who always get sent on the swamp missions".

You can do anything twice except shoot.

That should be in the learn to play, surely? But the point of the digital RRG is so they can update it over time.

Feldgrau.
Or Schwarzgrau.

>Drinking the koolaid

>That should be in the learn to play, surely?
It might be, but without a page of contents you need to skim the entire thing to find anything, and it's hardly clear.
But thanks

There's always specialists. They just typically get their own unit designations and unique armor. One of the rarer armor repaints.

Attached: star-wars-shock-trooper-sixth-scale-hot-toys-902649-09.jpg (1429x1000, 153K)

Is legion only rebels v. Stormtroopers? Can I not have a plucky gang of Hutt cartel outlaws, or a dignified band of jedi?

Tank Troopers are still sexy beasts. Hard to believe they almost didn't use the design at all in the film.

Attached: 518qoqvap3jx.png (800x450, 487K)

For now, it's Rebels vs Empire. They're planning on releasing a wave per month, though, so they might expand into other factions in a year or two.

I might start playing in a year or two then. It's a shame they started with the most boring time period in the star wars canon, with the most boring factions. The rules seem cool, but .a fluff guy and 40k has better, more interesting fluff.

My favorite stormie armor. Next PC is going to have a "borrowed" and repainted set.

>It's a shame they started with the most boring time period in the star wars canon, with the most boring factions.

I mean, they started off with the movies around which the entire franchise is based. That's a pretty logical place to start.

Old Republic would have been more fun. Or fleshing out the rebel takeover after the empire and the rise of the first order. Or the clone wars.

Picked it up last night and assembled. I haven't glued the arm pieces for most of the miniatures for ease of painting later on but will be doing a small 400 point game with a friend later next week.

That stuff wouldn't sell as well as Stormtroopers. It'd be a horrible business decision.

The number of people who love the OT vastly outnumbers the people who even care about any other era.

It feels so satisfying to set the assembled core set on your desk facing off like this, doesn't it? It's weirdly childish but I think literally everybody has done it.

>Old Republic

Doubtful they ever do anything other than OT-PT-ST. Old Republic stuff would never ever sell enough to justify the time spent developing it

And also a lot less recognisable. Barely anyone knows the details of the old republic, relative to those who know who the empire and rebels are. Heck, Old Republic isn't even canon any more and the takeover after the empire doesn't yet have enough canon details to make a full game out of yet without stepping on Disney toes and you sure as hell don't want to do that.

I hold the ot near and dear to my heart, but it is a horrible setting for a space fantasy wargame. There isn't anything they can do that's fantastic with any characters other than the five force users existing at the time, and the tech displayed is just laser guns.

It really does. I honestly cannot wait to see how everything looks on a terrain board. Really hoping my local hobby shop supports events for this considering they have some great board setups. If they don't I know a shop in the city over that will have events.

No, the Clone Wars era would have been the most ideal. You have a lot of diverse looking options for packs and can even fit in the weirder stuff like Death Watch and the Umbarans.

You forgot to include his Karkat-ass weird pants.

The chest piece is the same for all three in that picture, just recolored.

if it ain't broke

Same, but my autist friend is a dick and it's nearly impossible to introduce him to new games.

It's seems like Disney wnats any series starting from Original Trilogy time (Battlefront for example)
But I still like Empire time period, and thinks it oine of the comfiest period in the whole setting

Are ya'll pulling this from somewhere?

charge your phone, you shitposting fuck

No huge shock there. They almost didn't even use the tank trooper design. Story goes they were just going to use regular Stormtroopers for the tank but Lucas happened to be visiting the set that day, saw the unused helmets with other props, and talked them into using them.

Say what you will about George, he knows cool shit when he sees it.

See, Lucas talks people into using funky chestpiecces and helmets, Kathleen talks them into using Shiny Stormtrooper.

I thought Shiny Stormtrooper was the idea of Kathleen's chief yeswoman?

So far, only Minefield uses condition tokens, and nothing uses the numbered pips on them.

How powerful would a fleet composed of a Secutor, three ISDs, four Victories, and a small number of support frigates/corvettes be?

Attached: 1510967880651.jpg (3840x2160, 1.57M)

But legion is not about clone wars or old republic garbage, user..

Get Interdictor or two, otherwise you'd never get to fight anything.

Bit off topic, but which drawthreads am I supposed to go to get art related to Star Wars comics? /co/ drawthreads? I want to say /co/ drawthreads.

It should be, both are better settings for a wargame aimed at competing with 40k.

There's only so many times I can rehash the same plucky rebels vs. Nazi imperials shtick without getting bored. Give me factions as diverse as dark Eldar and tyranids over that any day.

The literal halo is the most hamfisted thing I have ever seen.

But user, edgefags and space locusts are the most boring factions of 40k. Besides, what aside from Vongs would even be like them in nuSW?

>Shiny Stormtrooper will continue being chief Shiny Lady of Star Wars
>ywn have Dorito-head as the major shiny female antagonist of Star Wars
Why are we here? Just to suffer?

Attached: Lumiya.jpg (657x1000, 58K)

What comic is this?

I didn't even notice that.
Holy shit I am filled with anger, who the fuck signs off on an outfit like that?

>Adding the Vong to Legion
... I'd be down for it.

Spoken like a man with no taste.

But the obvious analog to dark Eldar would be any large with society.

That's the currently on-going Darth Vader comic. In fact, that's from the most recent issue, #13. They're about to get into the subjugation of Mon Cala.

Meanwhile, the main Star Wars series is about to deal with the far end of that subjugation.

>most hamfisted thing

>didn't even notice it

I'd be down with Legion being made for the EU, rather than rat feces.
So you're a fan of em, then? Nah, you'd have to try to find a society so full of shit. Nar Shadda is Necromunda-lite at its worst.

I'm super attached to the warlord era stuff, and I'm amazed that there don't appear to be any alt color schemes from that part of the EU. I'm doing white with blue highlights under the reasoning that they would have done something to prevent friendly fire, but are minimalist about it.

Hamfisted and "large" can be one and the same. The message of "Holdo is so good!" is hamfisted, but in a theatre where you're going to be looking at her face or the surrounding areas, like that guy in the background, that inch of screen might escape your notice.
It's like leaving a really hamfisted message, but in the fine print rather than in the main body of writing.

Daily Reminder

A genie arrives and offers you the ability to go back in time and assign complete creative control of one of the three trilogies to one individual of your choice. The other two trilogies will be untouched. If necessary, intermediate movies will be created to handle and resolve any continuity errors your choice causes. The individual you give creative control to must be a recognized director or other appropriate position in the current time line.

Which trilogy do you give to who, and why?

Fucking Captian Alderaan.

Dark Greetings and best of luck

The sequel trilogy to Lucas.

Nothing else changes

I give the Sequel Trilogy to Mark Hamill. He doesn't need to write it or anything, but anything he says goes.
I don't know WHAT would result from that, but I just want him to be happy.

Attached: Master Luke Skywalker.png (700x919, 755K)

I'm kind of interesting to see how the situation on Mon Cala plays out in nucanon, seeing that I'm running a campaign set close to there. Wasn't there something about an Imperial-controlled merchant fleet of Mon Calamari ships?

Why not?

Bladerunner 2049 is the closest movie that exists to the movies Lucas tried to make the prequels be

I think I like the crazy here more than the last Vader comic. The last one was full on "how much glitterstim were they on?"

Wait for scout troopers to come out, kitbash them and paint them white with orange dots on them.

Attached: Cam_Kennedy.jpg (1000x740, 279K)

>A gun that shoots lightsabers
This is an idea I came up with when I was 6, I don't know if I'm super hyped or super disappointed.

Because it's several years of Vader kicking powerful Jedi ass, you've got the oppurtunity to do investigation, combat, and get Jedi to crack the philosophical crank sometimes and examine any conflict Vader has within him about what he's done - you could even have done it with the Clones if they weren't brainchipped.
It's a perfectly sensible place to tell a story, or several stories, complete with the ability to do it anthology style and hop around a timeline.

>hahahaha
Wait you are serious?

Not mentioned in DV 13. We see only two ships from the "Mon Cala Imperial Trade Fleet" in SW 44.

The arc has only just begun for both series. SW 44/45, DV 13 are the only issues so far.

The ultimate authority on the story of Disney wars. They decide what happens.

a zero-effort baitpost, and we managed to ignore it until you had to fuck it up

A promotion for Nike that doesn't have anything to do with Star Wars or was ever used for anything. It's just a retarded shit post image.

Interesting to see Lee-Char again and Vader having to deal with subjugating places and people he originally met as Anakin.

It has a few moments against the Jedi but the purge isn't the main focus. It's about Vader establishing himself in the early years of the Empire beginning with the Emperor forcing him to prove himself yet again after Obi-Wan fucked him up on Mustafar. Getting his lightsaber, corrupting the crystal to make it go all Linkin Park, dealing with the Inquisitors, Jocasta, proving to the Imperial officers not to fuck with him despite his lack of official rank, and now a mission to Mon Cala.

I believe there is supposed to be a time skip soon. Also Vader really is the worst fucking boss. First thing he does with the Inquisitors is to maim the lot of them except presumably the Grand Inquisitor.

Kennedy in a Nike sport force shirt.
But, sans context it's bait.
Old bait at that.

I'm very interested in how they handle the matter of secretly building a fleet of ships

When Jedi die that's when the fun begins.

Have the Inquisitors ever actually captured or killed a Jedi in canon yet? They fail to capture a failed Knight and his Padawan for 4 seasons.
It's something I played with in an FFG game of mine, the Inquisitors were something everyone hated and feared but it was discovered they were actually woefully incompetent at their job and had never been able to kill or capture anyone without Vader's help.
