Explain Chainlink to me

Can someone explain to me what exactly chainlink is trying to do? Dumb it down for me.. i was trying to wrap my head around what sergey and ari juels talk about.. Would appreciate a brief explanation on what they are trying to accomplish.. maybe Assblaster can explain this a bit further??

deluded linkies, no update to github since November, its a shitcoin

>works on any blockchain

>PSD2 forcing banks to open their APIs happening right as mainnet goes live
>first mover advantage
>smart contracts are the most disruptive technology since the internet
>smart contracts literally can't work without it
>staking dividends via link pools
>close relationship with SWIFT
>sergey is a recognized expert in smart contracts
>quoted as an expert in world economic report on smart contracts back in 2015
>quoted as an expert in capgemini smart contracts report
>ethereum community manager: "They have been working on this problem since before Ethereum was even a thing and I believe they have the most experience tackling this problem"
>haven't even hired a marketing person yet--the team has done literally NOTHING to pump the price

I just read the whitepaper

Somebody will correct me because my IQ is like 80 but from my understanding they're trying to bring the blockchain to the internet of things.

They're trying to make a coin that can be used to connect everything and represent all transactions across other blockchains, iot devices, everything.

ZIP ZAP ZOOBYDOU BAB

It allows a secure closes system access data on open unsecure systems without exposing them to risk or losing security.

amazing

...

They are providing a way for information from the real world to access the blockchain and providing smart contracts and a system of decentralized oracles to host the outside information. This will allow smart contracts to work for anything in the real world. They have zero competitors for decentralized oracles. They already have a working product. Their presale sold out in less than 15 minutes at 9 cents. They act as middleware.

best thing i've seen today

It allows people to set up nodes which relay real world data to the blockchain in exchange for links from people who use that data. This can already be done through companies that act as what are called oracles, however, when data comes from only 1 source you have to trust that source to be correct. Chainlink essentially makes it so you get that info from many different sources making it much more likely to be trustworthy data meaning your money isn't lost to some company trying to screw you over or to incorrect data.

Gonna do some more research on smart contracts. So basically chainlink is going to grab aspects of blockchain and off chain data to deliver transactions? Does that sound right or no?

Does anyone have this meme? Could you post it?

solves the no lambo in my garage problem

Please read my image OP. It has everything.

True

Amazing

Perfect

You... YOU! You're the same smug anime fuck that wrote walls of LINK FUD last year, get the fuck out of link you don't deserve it.

>blaming a guy for wanting more cheap links
Come on now. People who have done their research believed in the project and would never sell. Only the people who bought in for a quick moon mission left and is it really so wrong to take money from people like that?

Thanks I'll check this out.

No. It isn’t. FUD on you crazy diamond.

>Would appreciate a brief explanation on what they are trying to accomplish

To make us all rich.

no. ugh we're doomed.
It's a token meant to connect real world data to smart contracts, APIs for blockchains.
