Protection. Most evasion these days kinda sucks.

MaRo has tried to get Frenzy into many sets, but Development keeps saying "no". Thus why a version of garbage elemental has Frenzy

Whither! Give me that sexy 4/1 first strike whiter guy and I'll be happy.

Do you guys think Torgaar would be better suited at the helm of his own deck or in the 99 of something else?

I want to see red's exile then play cards come back and be good. Print a red brainstorm this way: r, instant, exile two cards from your hand and the top three cards of your library face down. Until the next end phase you may look at and play these cards.

Shroud should come back and replace hexproof.

>what mechanic do you desperately want to see make a comeback on some new cards?
Snow. The first round (Ice Age) was shit but flavor as fuck. The second (Coldsnap) upgraded to merely lackluster but still flavor as fuck. I want a third round that plays with snow the way OGW played with anus mana or Dom is fucking with "historic" and totally explores the space. I want to have some fucking cool commanders to hit a snow theme that aren't Heidar. And I want that flavor as fuck to come back, with an icebound world.

>we were discussing the storm scale last thread, what mechanic do you desperately want to see make a comeback on some new cards?
I want an ice plane outside of Dominaria with Snow Mana.

Frostmind! Get out of my thread you frigid fucks.

>we were discussing the storm scale last thread, what mechanic do you desperately want to see make a comeback on some new cards?
Split Second

I want annihilator to come back on a small efficiently costed body.

I know you're butthurt about that little slice of L Frank Baum, but you need to just Let It Go

Evoke and Dash. Because I want more value ETB creatures.

If you were to get this onto Animar without targeting (Brago, Sun Titan, etc), would it immediately fall off due to protection, our would it already be a 0/1 with no abilities, thus no protection?

>mechanic used on 9 of 184 cards in a tiny second set that everyone has already forgotten about is still shitting up my game

Anybody else want this fucking butthole looking cancer removed from their fucking colorless mana producers?

Attached: index.png (225x225, 4K)

Dash felt so underdeveloped for what we got of it too. We'll never get something really cool like "dash- sacrifice a mountain"

A colorless symbol had been a long time coming -- literally since Odyssey block IIRC. It felt really weird at first but I've come to accept it/ Aside from anons with an anal fetish, the actual mana symbol doesn't look half bad.

>what mechanic do you desperately want to see make a comeback on some new cards?

quests and undying

While jeskai may have the best walls, green has the best defender support, and of the three I'd drop blue. That's why I am brainstorming naya walls

>TQ

Threshold, and grave effects like Filth, Wonder, Anger, Brawn, and whatever the fuck white's was.

Bring back landfall and make it playable in blue red, please

Attached: Keranos.jpg (610x450, 82K)

seeing this symbol reminds me of the conundrum im facing at the moment. i'm that deckbox building son of dog and i'm looking towards building something a new box since my current one is really heavy and cumbersome to carry around.

this is the design i came up with, but i think i want to use something else on top because the colorless symbol is kinda dumb. it needs to fill the following prequisites

1) needs to work in black and white
2) needs to be (somewhat) readable from all angles
3) can't be too specific like an orzhov symbol, and also doesn't need to be mtg related in the first place

>we were discussing the storm scale last thread, what mechanic do you desperately want to see make a comeback on some new cards?
It hasn't been gone for long, but I already want Investigate back. I want my board fuckin' covered in Clues.

>green has the best defender support
I'd question this other than for the "damage from toughness and swing" strat. Axebane Guardian and Overgrown Battlement are good, but so is Vent Sentinel and I get a bizarre amount of mileage out of Wall of Kelp in decks not dedicated to Defender. Doorkeeper is more marginal, but pretty lulzy.

Maybe the Coalition symbol/Invasion Set Symbol?

Protection prevents being enchanted too. Remember DEBT protection
Damage
Enchant equip
Blocked
Targeted.

Trees though.

Frenzy. Absorb to a lesser extent.

>wall of kelp
Meet his gruul bro

It's not just what green directly offers to defenders, but also the colors themselves. Green makes it easy to go tricolor of course, and with all the ramp associated with green even outside defender synergy, you will have more to do each turn to play powerful spells that affect the gamestate, besides just dumping a bunch of walls from your hand.

Attached: Image (24).jpg (223x310, 31K)

And that card rightly pissed me off when I saw it too, besides the obvious bit of it being Un-Shit. All I want is a janky unblockable frenzy deck. Is that too much to ask?

That's fair. I'm actually thinking about building Gay Kangs walls now. The 2/8 body supports going Assault Formation pretty well.

My vote goes to this. The Coalition symbol is cool.

To Magic Development team, it is too much

absolutely ridiculous. I can't even be mad at MaRo for this one

Would actually use a box with the Coalition emblem.

What's the best way to gain control of everyone's lands, even if only for a single turn? If until eot, I want to be able to untap them.

Attached: balls.png (768x567, 142K)

what, you mean this? i already did that earlier

Attached: 20170123_152716.jpg (2560x1920, 1.16M)

Gilt-Leaf Archdruid is the only effect that accomplishes that, though it's remarkably tough to satisfy its demands in any case. Seton Druid tribal, perhaps.

>What's the best way to gain control of everyone's lands

You sound like a communist!

Why the fuck is suspend a 9, its a super simple mechanic once you spend 10 seconds reading the reminder text. It also offers decent designspace, sometimes i think that the Wizards market research department is making stuff up.

>gruul box
My brudda

Attached: ba0.jpg (2048x1439, 193K)

No, I sound like an imperialist

What colors?

Herald of Leshrac or Living Plane + Insurrection

>what mechanic do you desperately want to see make a comeback on some new cards?
I want to see Provoke or something equivalent coming back as the red version of fight

Oh.

Maybe the Legends set symbol?

Lucky you Dominaria literally has protection?

List a card because I recall an obvious replacement (Hexproof from X).

>implying Hexproof against [Color] is even remotely as strong as Protection

Because it's stupid easy to break. Remember, this is the Storm scale.

Regardless, 10/10.

It has the wimpy version of protection. Protection is like super Shroud which is like super Hexproof.

Shroud is inferior to Hexproof in nearly every way.

Infinite mana plus memenarch.

Doesn't apply to "hexproof from X" failing to live up to Protection from X. Knight of Grace dies to Pestilence.

They're beautiful. I'm fucking jealous. I'd kill for one with the Azorius sign on it for my GAAIV deck

does a 0 power creature still deal damage?

Sell me on Gruul. I use monogreen mostly for dumb shit and haste is okay, but other that that basic forests serve me just fine

Attached: 591651854.jpg (312x445, 58K)

No. It can still attack, however.

>play Tasigur on my birthday last week
>my friends all jump me and I almost win anyway
>game 2, I win on turn 6 with my second torment of hailfire

God that card is so sick

It depends on what you wanna do. You can ramp faster in mono green and have no need to fix your mana however gruul has the best artifact and enchantment destruction spells as well as overall better quality of mid-costed creatures like 4-5 drop range.
It supports a much faster go wide strategy too, with access to Red's token spam as well as reliable damage outlets from them like purph, impact tremors and warstorm surge

eeeegh

Attached: the first erection.jpg (265x370, 50K)

Red gets shafted again

You could play spellslinger that makes absurd fireballs and hydras, or you could play Ruric Thar and dominate by making everyone fear you.

Attached: gruul.jpg (223x310, 36K)

I don't even understand how this is supposed to be used in Standard/Limited

it's supposed to go into the RW angry duck deck

Attached: serradisciple.jpg (265x370, 38K)

This is just unplayable. It's awful.

>more fatties in red and gruul
>better selection of removal
>various amazing haste outlets
>double strike and damage doublers
>additional combat phases
>MOTHERFUCKING BASED XENAGOD

Attached: gruul.jpg (2560x1600, 3.02M)

But it dies on #3 before you have priority to cast sorcery speed stuff to pump it

I'm not quite as negative about this as most people seem to be, but it's... not good. I feel like contrasting this with Phyrexian Scriptures, another wrath-like Saga. Scriptures costs one more but unrestricted wraths on II. This throws an anger of the gods on III after a tremor on I and makes you sac a mountain which, while flavorful, is a real bummer. I do wonder what could be done with the mana jump; it theoretically pushes you to 6 mana on II if you're curving out, which is something of a break point.

At least you can float from the mountain you sac on III.

>Phyrexian Scriptures
>Unrestricted Wraths

OMNATH ANGRY ELEMEMETALS

Yeah that's not very good... Love the art and flavor though.

true, "nonartifact", but I have a feeling that's way less of a problem than anything with 4+ toughness living. Outside That One Guy playing artifacts.dec I at least don't see a ton of artifact creatures.

Help me out with my Meren of the Thots deck

tappedout.net/mtg-decks/meren-the-thot/?cb=1522175542

Attached: D5ya3Pb.png (500x358, 331K)

Your Bolas list seems to be retarded.

It's all Flavour-based, rather than actually designed to be pro-MLG

Gruul smash puss

Dictate of Erebos
Grave Pact
Grim Backwoods
Slum Reaper
Thrashing Brontodon

Nah, ah shit, I see what you mean, fixed it.

Attached: Bolas Vs Gatewatch.png (1728x2164, 994K)

Actually look at your PNG and tell me what's wrong with your Bolas list.

With that remedied, I think these look great. Since you're going for full flavor power here, they are 100%.

These look good my dude

What's up with half snow-covered?

I understand what you're trying to go for in regards to the bolas list with all his underling planeswalkers in there but the tezzerets are practically useless. Maybe put in Countersquall or Imp's Mischief instead.
Also Nissa's deck looks way better than the rest simply based on the quality of her creatures. Oh and Gifts Ungiven is banned (in Jace's deck).

A friend recently got rid of his stuff from as far back as Legends, including a fuckton of the things.

It's not good, but I can see the use. It clears dorks on T3, so you can a big guy on T4, and then it clears the board for your big guy to attack on T5.

I thought it was...

Thoughts on this guy? I want to brew him

>Temple of the False God
Sick flavor. Also consider tossing in some Conflux lands like Exotic Orchard, Reliquary Tower, and maybe Ancient Ziggurat.

>MOTHERFUCKING BASED XENAGOD
This reminds me, is there a virgin vs chad meme with the Chad Xenagod vs. the Virgin... Kruphix? Phenax? Idk, one of them.

You know, why wasn't there a reprint of Temple of the False God in Amonkhet block? Even an invocation would have been nice.

kind of silly

you can spend all your life on something, then half of it back with your commander

that or Wound Reflection

As far as I'm aware, not yet.

Damn. I'd make it if I was any good at that sort of thing. I definitely think it should be the Virgin Kruphix though, because he's a closer parallel to Xenagod in that he's a green rampy deck but infinitely more wimpy because blue.

If it were printed in the main set it would become newly modern legal, which could get hairy.
Not really sure why it wasn't an invocation though.

>thots
>puppeteer clique
>no Melira
Also, nissa flip is cute too. And I'm pretty sure you are missing on some cuties too, but I don't have my deck right now to check. Oh, and I don't know if you can spend money or plays proxies, but definitely Promo Survival of the Fittest over the goblin one.

looks very good for dino tribal. still does fuck all in limited.

>Dodges command tax
Always a good thing, just ask Karador or Ghalta.
>That ETB
Lethal from full or higher with Wound Reflection. Sadly, mono-black doesn't have a lot of ways to hand out free life to your opponents for the kill. It does have Sanguine Bond and/or Exquisite Blood to capitalize on the loss, but I'm not totally sure.

I feel like there are two ways to play this guy: ETB or Voltron. ETB Torgaar is going to look for Big Black Mana. Get everyone to 20 or under then destroy the world with Gary, Exsanguinate, Torment of Hailfire, or so on

Voltron Torgaar takes advantage of the fact he can come out for two mana and has the power necessary to 3-shot without aid. Run a lot of 0-2 cost fodder and draw power, nothing over 3 (which should pretty much be priest of Gix and Necropotence. Tech play -- set 39 cards aside with Necro then Torgaar yourself back to 20). You want to stick him t2 (Magical Christmas land in which you got T1 Sol Ring-Ornithipter-something else off the ring) or t3 (Fairly realistic with a sick devotion to zero and one drops that are effectively mana-positive.). Hold onto Living Death/End to drag all your fodder back for another go, including their ETB/LTB, if you've run out when you need to recast Torgaar.

Note: T1 Torgaar is possible! It requires a god hand but seems pretty fun when it happens. Swamp, Crypt, Ring, Priest of Gix (1BBB now floating), Ornithopter.

Should be Virgin Purph because everyone is sick of his shit.
