You can try again increasing your fee, but it doesn't really help that much.

What sort of times/necessary fees are we looking at?

This morning I kept spamming transactions to see if anything could stick. One with 8 Gwei confirmed after 7 hours.

I use 120000 Gas limit and 70 Gwei, confirms in minutes.

Initially used default (4 gwei) gas price.
Came back after a few hours and it still hadn't even started.
Reissued the transfer with 20 gas price, got it on the blockchain at once. still took ~40 minutes to clear, actual tx cost 0.0009 eth which is fairly outrageous. Seems annoying but then I consider the price is 0.157 now and it was 0.138 or so when I was initially trying to buy it so I missed out on a ~14% increase fucking around with low transaction fees, so fuck it
