Ethereum clones are pointless at this point in time, as the technology still needs radical improvements in scalability and usability.
There will probably be a point in the future (5-10 years from now) when it'll make sense to clone ETH with some kind of fair distribution model. Also note "fair distribution" is a tough concept to solve, simply throwing a topic on bitcointalk saying you can mine this shit and tell people tough luck when they come 2 years later isn't going to cut it. You're moving the problems of the original to a different set of suckers.
