Imposter syndrome

>be recent graduate
>looking for my first real job
>put that I have experience in cryptocurrencies & blockchain technology on my CV a while ago
>that was before bitcoin went mainstream and all normies heard about blockchain
>employers had little to no interest
>now that BTC et al blew up I managed to land a job interview at a top tier firm in a crypto related field of expertise
>mfw im nervous as fuck because all I did was opening leveraged accounts and trading shitcoins and altcoins with some success
>my knowledge in cryptos and blockchain is similar to what most autists on here have
>have no idea what kind of questions I'll be asked on my interview

has anyone been in a similar situation

>have no idea what kind of questions I'll be asked on my interview
Well waddaya know

Why do you want a job? If you have a lambo, you should be the interviewee.

Just watch some theoretical stuff about blockchains to know how the system works. A good one is the tim ferris podcast with nick szabo and the episodes of hashpower.

Interviewer*

pretty much anything that someone on here would know after browsing and lurking for 2+ years, for what it's worth

OP is just a picture I found on here a while ago

I believe I have a somewhat good knowledge of the theoretical aspect of BTC. What bothers me is that I'm afraid my interviewer will go in depth on the finance/operation side of BTC and trading... but at the same time I have to remind myself that 50+yo people have little to no knowledge about all this stuff

However I'd gladly take any links you guys have on that subject in order to refresh my memory.

Just be confident

OP I'll be posting a picture with a ferrari spider within the next couple of months.

If the dude knows nothing about blockchains it's easy. Just be confident in order for him to be convinced that you know your shit. Have you seen that jim carrey movie where he faked his way to becoming a ceo? It's based on a real story.

just tell them to HOLD

To be honest OP I think you're way out of your depth, but Do the interview anyway as Every interview is a learning experience.

I go to interviews even if I'm way under qualified because its good practice for when a more suitable job comes along.

You know more than most people if you've been in the market for two years. Read up on interviewing in general. Also read about salary negotiations because it helps to understand in interviewing how the hiring side is thinking.

understanding how blockchain works at a high level is easy, just watch some youtube videos and google. probably not necessary unless this is a development position, but it would be good to know about hash functions and digital signatures. blockchains are built upon these utilities.

Unless the job is difficult and you are not prepared to do it, lie

this

What sort of job?

Thanks for the help.

I'm not applying for a pure finance job, but it's something along those lines. It's at a V50 firm. It's an entry level position for graduates in my firm, and it's a very sought-after position.

I don't want to tell the exact position i'm applying for, but it's a field that broader than simply cryptos and trading.
In that sense, I don't think I'm expected to have ultra in depth knowledge, but since most people have absolutely NO idea what blockchain even is I think I have a strong possibility to make it seem like I know way more than I do. In the end most of this knowledge can be googled/youtube'd anyways as most people pointed.

I'll keep you guys updated and I'll keep reading and listening to material in the meantime.

>in my firm

In my field*,

>that broader
that's broader*

How rich do I have to be to use English muffins as paper weights?

Just be honest don't lie if they don't think your right then they will get someone else better than being in a shit job that your boss thought you could do because duh blockchain

worst that can happen is you don't get it anyway, just lie, there's no "reputable" crypto companies to corroborate your claims so you're good
