Any early adopters here who missed out on everything?

Real talk guys.

Who here dabbled in Bitcoin REAL EARLY but still missed out on pretty much everything?

I started around 2010 when bitcoin wasn't even close to $5 and you could mine hundreds with a single old AMD graphics card which my friends and I did for fun.

I watched the rise and fall of Mt. Gox and cashed out like maybe just a thousand bucks in profits after the first hack in 2011 happened after which I lost interest in all this for a while because of college and shit like this.

Trying to live a normie life (and failing) was the biggest mistake I've ever made.

Enjoy your normieland!

I wish I had joined in during that time.

I knew about it but it all seemed so crazy/sketchy.

Oh yeah, I also spent tons of BTC in some shitty hipster bar in Berlin.

The owner is a multi-millionaire now thanks to the coins I gave him alone.

Remember when you could buy those golden bitcoin tokens made of real metal? I gifted 2 of them to friends who lost them by now.

Nah thats bullshit desu. If I bought in at $5 I would have sold at 20, 50 or 100 and so would you. Noone thought it could get to 20k

Similar boat but made over the course of 7 years 150K, never lost anything or got scammed. Could sit on about 1.5 million and more if I just held and wouldn't have been such a fucking chicken by always selling too early.

I read the Bitcoin paper in 2010. Never got to mining, though, because my G5 was stupidly loud, hot, and expensive to run as it was.

I always thought about going on the silk road I buying shit with btc but never did. Wish I would have because it would have gave me my first bitcoins and exposure to crypto instead of hearing about it here and there and saying why the fuck would I want it

Purchased hundreds of coins at $5 per coin. Day traded them away, got wrecked on the $260 and $1200 bubbles like a fucking idiot. This time around I sold a bunch at $2000 because I thought it was the top and needed the money for a stupid rave fuckkkk

It me. I dabbled in 2013 mined some doge and decided to come back this December.

God fucking dammit

I first red about it in winter 2010 when it was under dollar but did not have any info about technical side and did not know about mining

i considered it some kind of centralized IM scam

I got hosed by gox as well. I remember sitting in trollbox talking shit with fontass on btce and they finally raised the limit to $1k. They need to raise it again.

Before this in 2009 or 10 I was on a TF2 Chan fighting amphibians and watched guys from our Veeky Forums servers shill Bitcoin. I ignored them hard

exactly my story. bought at 3, sold at 30. Thought it would come down from 100. Never did

I did. Been here a long time almost 10 years. I remember when it was $1. People traded it for porn and gifs. People even gave it away for free on /b/. Since the beginning trolls kept saying it was a bubble and it was going to pop. Everyone kept saying don't hold it. Just use it when you need it.

I was scared of getting my shit hacked. And couldn't figure out how to buy some. I was a dumb teenager. By the time I had a new laptop for buying and money to invest it had gone up to $100. People on Veeky Forums kept telling me it was going to crash so I waited. It went up to $1000. People on Veeky Forums and /g/ told me it's the highest it'll go and it'll pop. My gut told me it was going to go higher and I can still but my 10k in there. I got trolled by everyone here and didn't invest. Now it's at 13k and I'm barely getting in the game. Fucking trolls cost me millions.

>2010

>Playing Warhammer: Dawn of War at friends house.
>Friend A: Man have you heard of Bitcoin?
>Goes into explanation of it
>Too drunk to really grasp
>Me and Friend B: "That's sounds fucking stupid...."
>Friend A: But I can sell weed with out having in to do cash payments!
>Monday after work look into mining.
>Would need to upgrade GPU
>Would have had to spend 150.00
>Have shit wage cuckery job doing IT (only 1 year in at time) (Built career from being able to use Google)
>Decide I'll need beer that week and opt not to get GPU.
>Forget about BTC until December 2013

Someone please unfuck the past for me.

My flatmates at uni filled the shared flat kitchen with antminers back in 2013 and made ~10btc, mostly because we had free electricity.
Unbearably hot in the summer
Wasted every sat on Tesco vouchers off silkroad
Never had to pay for groceries or beer in first year though

Your own fear cost you millions. Shit, you didn't even need to invest money, people gave it away free.

Not too late, it will crash again. And crash hard. Back to 1k at least.

It's not too late, this has all happened before, it will all happen again. Just have to keep on it this time. The rest of the world will forget. But we'll remember. We're still young and have time. That's all we need. Time.

I found out about Bitcoin in 2012, mined like 0.02 of one on my computer, then had the idea to install mining software on all the school computers since I knew my teacher wouldn't give a fuck. Never got around to it and forgot about BTC for years.

>it will crash again. And crash hard. Back to 1k at least.
Keep dreaming for $1000

me. invested in bitcoin 2011. sold everything 2011.

a friend was mining at that time and never sold. in 2013 bitcoin mooned like crazy.

the pain was too much. avoided everything crypto related till last month.

feelsbad. but crypto before 2017 wasnt what it was now.

I remember when it first broken $1, i had $12 in it and thought it was pointless. I wish i still had that wallet.
A few years ago i got a bunch of dogecoins for free that werent even worth a cent that are now at $45. Odd feeling

They said it would never get past 1K, 5k or 10k but here we are. Odds are on my side friendo, it's gonna be a minute, but don't be shocked when it touches 990.00 in 2019, after XRP takes 1st place in market cap.

Bought 10btc worth of drugs in 2011, forgot about it, heard it was now worth 1k a few years later, told myself damn I missed the chance to become rich but 1k is too high, I missed out. Then I fomoed in for real a few months ago, when I realised it wasnt too late to make mad gains in the market

I was just to busy buying 80 btc worth of acid next day shipping to look into the tech
I must have chucked 10+ just to launder coins
Throw the accounts away with change 1-10 btc

>Tried mining bitcoin in 2011
>Had moderate success
>Forgot about it
>Parents threw that computer out
>Impossible for me to recover what I had

this thread is for early adopters not late adopters delusional enough to think they can catch up to their missed bitcoin gains betting on shitcoins

I only found out about bitcoin because I wanted lsd. It was $10 then

>I started around 2010 when bitcoin wasn't even close to $5 and you could mine hundreds with a single old AMD graphics card which my friends and I did for fun.

I actually started in 2010 and I don't think you used an AMD to do GPU mining back then...

My biggest mistake was to think that Bitcoin would only be used by cypherpunks and pedos like with PGP and I2P.

I miss the old crypto world though when it was full of enthousiastic idealistic nerds instead of greedy shilling cunts.

Well, technically it was ATI cards back then.

But I remember that I used my 5850 for mining and it actually got me like 200 BTC over a couple months.

I agree, bitcoins worth too much to be useful in the real world. I liked the idea of smaller pcs running miners, not these monstrous warehouse rigs mining purely for profit. That's the issue all crypto has, its all about money now

I sold 20 btc about 12 months ago for zero profit
I was able to scrap up $100, 000 in old accts, old wallets, etc.

Just today I sold a wallet of XCP from 2014 for $10,000

bro i mined 30k LTC and sold them all at less than $2. I mined 70 million doge and sold them all for 80k. so basically i should be a billionair but i only made 150k. cryptsy also stole millions worth of redds from me.

Spent over 100 btc buy acess to torrent private trackers and on Steam.
Always thought BTC was going to be banned for obvious tax evasion, money laundering, and etc., so never got in to hodl for the long term.

I'm in crypto since 2010 and I only have one million + a house from it.
Sold lots at the end of 2013. The ensuing two years long bear market made me extremely risk averse and I sold the rest in the spring of 2017, missing the bull run nearly completely. I got rid of so many alts at ridiculously low prices. Would easily be worth >$50M if I held.

>fidget spinner
I hope you are heavily invested

Wanted to mine bitcoins in 2010, asked my father to give me some money so I can buy a pc to mine and buy some. he just told me to stfu and that discouraged me so much that I forgot about it. If i only wasn't 14 at the time, I would be a fucking millionaire by now. Fuck you dad.

I bought RCs with bitcoin back in 2010

can't remember how much it was, but I'm sure that it's some ridiculous amount today

Was it that easy on 2010? I remember trying to mine in 2011 with a gt 450 and it was pretty impossible.outside a pool, and all of them would jew me hard.

...

Yeah because amd were the only worthwhile card

I tried the normie lifestyle:

>had a gf
>lived in the city together
>got engaged after almost 3 years
>buy her a ring
>propose
>we start planning
>she starts getting bitchier
>i start caring less and focusing more on work
>she keeps getting bitchier
>dump her ass

I found out after that she took the ring and spent another $3k on it to make the rock bigger (after I dropped $5k) with her mother because she felt bad since her friend got a $25k rock

dumped her in July, got into crypto in August, started hardcore mining and reinvesting profits into more mining

best decision of my life, im never looking back, the normie lifestyle is a fucking wasteland out there bro

When I first bought bitcoin and I found out I can mine it according to some online calculator it would be profitable to mine it on my laptop but I decided not to because it would be a small gain after substracting electricity costs. I also didn't want to bother keeping my wallet seed so I donated my remaining bitcoins to some charity that had a BTC address, it was like a $30 donation back then. I bought bitcoin again in December 2016 so I can safely say I missed out.

I bought 150 BTC and bought LSD with it on Silk Road.

I then bought 20 BTC a couple of months later for the same amount of $ and I sold it when BTC was $500 and bought my first car.

I also bought ETH at $2 and sold at $15 when it crashed from $22 to $15 (and further down until $7) I remember feeling like a genius when I sold that ETH for $15.

Also bought antshares for $5 all the way up to $22.

My point is you will never hold the coin until the end you're far more likely to sell it along the way so don't kill yourself for not being an early adopter.

> She keeps getting bitchier

WHY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DOES THIS HAPPEN. WHY DO THEY SLOWLY GET BITCHIER AND BITCHIER

Goddamn, someone enlighten me for the love of god because Ive dumped 3/3 GF's now because I couldnt stand that anymore

I bought bitcoin in 2014 because I wanted to buy drugs. Site got taken down before I could, never really paid attention to the price or thought about investing

>people like this post on biz

It's called the ending of the honeymoon phase. It happens with EVERYONE. They also see you becoming bitchier and more careless. It's the norm.

Christ, I know at least one card would get triggered by that one.

This guy is a lesson right here, most people are sheep and easily controlled. Follow that line in all interactions, including investments and OP will be fine...

i know that feel bro
heres a breakdown of the pyschic poison dripped into her ear:

>degenerate friends all materialistic as fuck and basically frenemies
>ZOG media/culture (nothing else needs to be said)
>beta as fuck father

she knew what i was when she met me, always told her about my opinion regarding womens inferiority and how theyre running rampant now due to weak men appeasing for scraps of pussy (LOL)
she loved me for that at the beginning but obviously she thought she would change me, my mistake was thinking i was strong enough to change her
my strength wasnt the issue, i ended up breaking up with her, it was that i misunderstood the problem: you cant force someone to change for you for a sustained period of time if they truly dont want to do it themselves

anyway life is much better now im much more creative, productive, and fulfilled

it would have been a disaster if i went through with it, i can only imagine how many other guys didnt realize their mistake and fell for the sunken fallacy meme

bought in 2010 but i bought drugs on the deepweb, i would have lost it all when silk road exit scammed anyways. not too salty, if i was a millionaire now i'd have nothing to do all day.

I remember reading about bitcoin in like 2010/11 but i was only 14 or so at the time. I asked my dad for 100 to invest and he said no. I kinda forgot about it but checked up on it every once in a while. Didn't have funds to get in this year so only got in recently.

> Started mining BTC in 2010
> Took like 1 hour for a single BTC
> Decided it took forever and got back to playing WoW
> Unhappy ever since.

STFU cunt

no bullshit here.... i saw a post on techcrunch in 2008 about bitcoin.. i was hyped.. saw it was future.. wanted to go all in.. but i had no money and knew it would be eyars before it would be worth anything.. so i did something else... looked at crypto again in 2014 coz of all the doge hype.. someone posted about antshares here on biz saying its the next big thing.. i didnt like the name so i left.. ..came back 3 months ago.. started with nothing, did a ico bounty then turned it into $550,000 trading.. man if only i went all in in 08.

>2008
>Bitcoin

nice LARP faggot.

i gotta say, you guys really know how to find the best crypto's. for any noobs here.. buy whatever biz shills you 24/7 and you'll make it

I mined 60 btc back in 2010/2011, started doing normie shit like partying and hanging out with girls so I ignored crypto. Lost that wallet by the way. Zero chance of recovery
Got back into crypto 2013 mining doge. Made good gains. Same deal as last time, slowly got occupied with other shit and forgot about crypto. I shouldn't have because I left 3 btc on fucking crypsty.

Came back like July 2017 I think, literally the day signatum was released. Found 900k doge in my doge wallet, 0.6 btc in a hot wallet, went all in on sigt at like 700-1200 sats.

feels kinda blessed. Fucked up two chances and the third goes good

> Remember when you could buy those golden bitcoin tokens made of real metal? I gifted 2 of them to friends who lost them by now.

Jesus..

no larp dude.. i fucking wish it was larp dude. fuck i want to kill myself

i lost everything in the cryptsy hack

lol we have similar stories

Me too. That was some shady shit. Got some mailed to me from Russia I think.

It kinda kills me inside to think I probably have some leftover btc in a wallet worth a couple thousand. Of course at the time it was probably .3 or so btc and barely anything.

Bought 10 btc in 2013 for 130 bucks each. Watched it moon to 1200. Then got goxxed for 3.5 btc and sold the rest.

After that I was poor while in grad school and couldn't invest in anything until very recently so hopefully will squeeze something out of the tail end of this bubble with some ICOs

>i saw a post on techcrunch in 2008 about bitcoin
sure you did LARPer. Go back to your faggot hugbox leddit you fucking choadhuffer

>hopefully will squeeze something out of the tail end of this bubble with some ICOs

tailend was last week of 2017 and 1st week of 2018.

You'd still have to be a gigantic retard to sell literally 100%. No reason not to keep a few around.

i missed out because i had no capital to invest.

2008 and 2009 were heavy shill periods for bitcoin and you couldn't be on a forum without hearing about it

If you want to feel better

Think any all those Veeky Forums passes bought with btc that Moot's dumbass immediately cashed out

>See bitcoin begging threads all over /b/ in 2009 / 2010
>Think "that's fucking stupid, why do people care about fake internet money"
>People were literally giving each other like 10 BTC like it was chump change
>Never even got involved with bitcoin because it sounded like a retarded waste of time to me
>Bought my first bitcoin at $2000 last year

Oh well, at least I got in on a shitload of ETH at $50

> Don't remember the year but bitcoin was about 5ish AUD and silk road was shilled on /b/. > Set up a miner with my old laptop during summer but didn't want to have it running.
> Had money at that time too and could easily have set up an awesome miner or bought a boatload of btc.
> had other things going on so only kept up with news and didn't invest until 2017.

Learned from my mistakes and now hold everything until it pays off. I constantly put part of my paycheck in on various coins with potential.

a friend of mine was talking about it when the price was maybe less than a penny? it sounded like he believed it to be the next big thing.
never gave it much thought until last month.
dont know if he has any but if he is hes keeping it on the down low

Are you retarded? There is information all around you...

>Back in 09 I watched as /b threw buttcoins around for fun
>I watched the rise of DOGE and many other memecoins
>'11 I mention to GF how i am going to buy buttcoin. I didn't
>I party I work I live normie life
>Jan 17 bookmark ethereum thread
>never look at it again
>Aug 17 buddy sends me email from spain he has buttcoin
>I buy buttcoin in sep dip after ICO ban
>switch to eth in Nov @290
>sell at 600
>buy ARK, BAT, REQ, RLC, confido, astro
>still a pajeet

He just didn't find out about it in 2009 because he was probably still learning to read at that time, interpret that as you will :^)
I remember hearing about Bitcoin around then, I just couldn't see it as being more useful than something like PayPal. Oh how wrong I was! And then later on, I was afraid of getting scooped up in some giant money laundering charge, it wasn't until Silk Road went down that cryptocurrency seemed legitimate, but by then of course it seemed to late. It still seems too late now, but at least I'm not a pathetic no-coiner this time.

What never ceases to amaze me is how many that claim to have heard about bitcoin in its early phase.

I used it for silk road back in '11. Had hundreds upon hundreds of BTC at one point. Lost it all to Gox and didn't get back in until '15. Had a couple dozen BTC but cashed them out when the blocksize debate started FUDding me. Didn't get back in until Dec 2016 but my wallet fucked itself so just thought fuck it and left.

Didn't get back in properly until May2017. Made 18x+ gains in less than a year but genuinely pissed off that I didn't just hold my BTC (or ANY BTC at all). Completely missed the boat to become a real whale.

Can't hide from us retard. Also if by early phase you mean pre-Gox then loads of people heard about it. Silk Road was huge and had everything from Forbes to BBC news articles that mention BTC as the payment method, but generally focused on the illegal market places.

My Mum 'heard about' BTC in it's early phase. I know this cause she mentioned it to me back when I'd use silk road. Never thought anything of it, like 99% of the people who heard about it but she did nevertheless and that was thanks to BBC news.

Basically the same for me but weed, wow and different job
