They'll charge you out to the client for about $1,500 a day, maybe 2k if you're doing something really specialised. You'll get a small fraction of that early on.

But here's the thing - they're constantly hiring people because as a consultant, you're sent out to basically live and breathe with these corporate retards at multi-billion-dollar companies. You end up becoming essential to the team because you built and designed everything and only you (really) know how it works.

So, these massive corporates eventually offer you megabux, or if it's a startup - equity - and cut out your consultancy which is middlemanning. You can then either ask for a raise/promotion at your consultancy, or just move on to the corporate and be their go-to guy for whatever you built for them for the life of it.

The key to success is never saying no to a project, no matter how shitty, and even if you have no idea what you're doing. You also can't be a sperg. You go in and be a friend to these middle-managers and gather intel. If you can't work with people, unless you're a genius of some kind in one specialised field, you won't make it as a consultant.

The pay is phenomenal at a small company. Terrible at a large one like KPMG or Deloitte.
