It was a double-whammy. First bitcoin shit the bed, otherwise we'd have hit 10k sats. Then a bunch of troglodytes claimed a huge announcement was going to happen at the conference, and many people held in expectation. The coin is actually still higher than before, you just can't tell because of the market crash.
