Barista?
Amazon or any warehouse job, you get at least $13 an hour + good health benefits. Work your way up from there and be a manager and you can make at least 40k, most people who aren't braindead retards get promoted within a year or two in warehouses.
Move to a major city, drive for Uber
I was thinking about coast guard i still have to get in shape no way i would make it through boot camp
This. If you’re not a felon or a medical disaster this is what I’d recommend. Ok paycheck, free room and board, health care, perhaps a marketable trade, and paid for college. 3 classes away from my masters without paying a dime.
Coast guard is most selective. I’d go air force if I had to do it again.
>He sodl and applied for the McJob
>begin operation Happy Meal
Which is more hassle - grocery store, or convenience store?
I'm willing to take the leap of faith that I don't get shot as a convenience store clerk.
Is it worth investing into an IT-related education and getting into debt?
Seconding this. Just get a comfy job with free time if you don't want all the hooah. Like finance, 9-5 weekdays and easy work.
look online but i have heard i fair amount of people get IT jobs by teaching themselves programming ive been learning for awhile i think that is my next goal in life
Degrees can help, but if you study on your own and show examples of work you've done, degrees matter a lot less.
Oh my god shut the fuck up. The only way to NOT make it through boot camp is to bring weed to boot camp regardless of the branch.
They NEED people you idiot. They aren't going to waste a fresh tard that will volunteer 4 - 6 years of their life for below minimum wage. You can fail every PT and make through Army
Go to the library, start studying for a CCNA and then go get the cert while looking for a shit job to get you by in the mean time.
how difficult is the CCNA + what's the general pay like senpai
one thing that i learned early on from biz; you can always make money sucking dicks.
Serving. That is, if you're not completely socially inept which is entirely likely considering you're on Veeky Forums. But as long as you're not working for some shit-tier chain with cheap food, you can make pretty decent money.
I work at a place with $15-$25 plates, work around 40 hours a week and my W2 says I made $25k in charge tips alone, and that doesn't include cash tips which are very common and completely untaxed, so
I very well could've made something closer to $35k. Considering I made that money to walk a lot, carry food and talk to people, it's not bad at all. The turnover rate is also very high this time of year and lots of places will be looking to hire people. Something to consider if you're competent and cool headed.
>IT for the last 20 years
>generalist, self-taught
>lost job with employer of 11 years
>no decent IT position is willing to hire because I lack computer related degrees and certifications
>shit help desk positions won't consider me because I'm "overqualified."
>McJobs getting on average 400-800 applications for every open position and won't hire a guy who's pushing 40
>too old to milfag
I lost my house and everything I owned to a fire, then got fucked out of everything during the cleanup and remediation. Lost a 2yr old car getting rear ended, and got almost nothing for it because all the insurance money went to pay off the loan. Got into crypto way too late. (Had a $25,000 buy into ETH last year ready to go, but talked my retarded ass out of it when the price shot up from $7 to 10 because "I already missed the moon.") Got in in December, rode the bull, only to watch everything crash in January. I've drained my savings, cashed out my retirement early, and bled down everything. I can't even cover the additional taxes I owe on the money I pulled out of the retirement account. I owe more than I even have left in the bank right now... so I've got till April before I'm giving handjobs behind the gas station to pay tribute to Israel.
I really thought all of us were going to make it for a while...
Bro you have been watching the market since ;ate '16 and you decided to get in December '17?
Sorry for your loss but you fucked up mah man
I mean lawd jesus, you have no one to blame but yourself
Network Engineer of 11 years here. We don't hire people like that lel.
Bra just get high and cry
How do you hire people then?
Also, is it still worth it to study an IT related career such as Software Engineering?
What did you study? How much do you earn?
Is Network Security a big thing?
