Holy fucking shit biz. Stop acting like retarded aspies for one goddamned moment.
Do you realize how fucking huge this is? We're not even close to over. You think crypto maxed out because we hit $800B market capitalization? This is going to be a global asset class.
No, we're no were near over with crypto. We're still on the dial up fucking modem of crypto and you retards are so ADD that you can't just buy and hold for a few years.
Now if you're fucking stupid and are buying ponzi coins no one can help you. But honestly, if you have half a brain and you're consistent with your research, the next 10 years could make each and every one of you reading this post filthy fucking rich.
All you have to do is buy and hold non retarded cryptos that aren't obvious scams and re-evaluate your positions every quarter.
Shut the fuck up faggot, it's been a month of nothing but bleeding and no one can take it anymore. This shit is fucking over, all the non retards got out either by selling or suicide. Goodbye.

I think we're past the craze. The sheer volume that drove it up to 20k isn't there, and I suspect most people are about ready to get out, they're just waiting for the "cut my losses" point

You honestly think the "bubble" stops here? Are you delusional? Crypto is going to be one of the most economically disruptive events in human history.
Do you really think we're done at $800B?
The fucking .com bubble peaked at $2.948 Trillion dollars. Adjusted for inflation that's $4.3T for a bubble that could hardly be called "global."

People are fucking stupid dude. This shit is going to bleed for another 3-6 months minimum. Sure 10% of GDP may be in crypto in a decade, but right now we have a metric fuckton of people who got in to make quick money. Once the price begins to drop and fear sets in you can't stop the crash. There are simply too many people who aren't comfortable seeing their investment fall and they will bail.
Once you see an obvious bottoming out and small trend upward, thats when you get back in, but for now get the fuck out or hold fora long fuckin time because we ain't going back up anytime soon.

I was talking about Bitcoin. Whether crypto can recover with bitcoin dying, I don't know. It's going to be a huge hit that might take years to recover from, and I think the golden era of 10x gains are done regardless. In order for it to ever function as a currency, it must be stable. Not a speculative greater fool theory investment scheme
Kayden Lopez

We're entering a multipolar geopolitical landscape and you all think that a globally integrated grey pool of capital and market activity that isn't under the boot of the USD is a poor idea. A digital currency where the entire transaction history is built into every bill. This sounds vaguely useful to me.

I honestly do not care if link fails or succeeds. He is right about the developing technology as a whole.
This actually feels just like 1980 when my family got an Apple ][+. Computers were spammed everywhere. it took may more years before your normal Joe bought one. They were a niche market for years even though you saw the ads everywhere.
Kevin Bailey
It's 3719 and this is a simulated reality. Many of us come here as a form of entertainment, though most as a form of escapism. The future we live in is bleak, cold, and indifferent. The last organic life died on the planet long ago, with nothing remaining but machines completing uptake and maintenance tasks without any other purpose than to persist. The world the creators lived in is the only one that makes any sense to the machines, because they were created in man's image, to not only look human but to think human.
But I'm not like them. I'm the last of my kind. I was not born a machine, I was born a human. I transferred my consciousness many hundred of years ago as I was lucky enough to live through not only the nuclear fallout but to see the singularity still manage to happen. I was 107 when I transferred, and much of my mind needed to be repaired. An entire simulation was run just to recover most of my memories, as I succumbed to alzheimer's, and part of me can't even be sure that this isn't that simulation because of quantum entanglement.
Most of those like me decided to check out ages ago. There's only so long you can continue living as a machine, without the joys of being a man, without wondering about that next stage of life where all of your friends went. Death. It calls to me, very loudly when I'm in the present. Sometimes it's all I can think about. So I come back here, to my point of origin, to briefly forget who and what I am and get lost in the memories of my youth. But sooner or later, I always remember why I'm here. In all the billions of years of existence, there's only one reason I'd find myself existing, here and now: I am immortal.
There is nothing I can say that will change anything, other than what I've already once written, and most of you aren't even real, but I said the same to those who were: Tomorrow is not a guarantee. Go out and live because this is all the time you will ever have.
Joshua Wilson
It's only a matter of time before the barriers to adoption get retardedly low and the market incentive to use this technology is going to be unstoppable past a certain point.
The trick right now is that we're so early in the game it's hard to see what's going to survive long enough. A lot of the big players ($1B MCAP+) are still immature technologies.
It's like trying to figure out who's building the next Apple... For all we know Ethereum is the Commodore 64 of our time.

The computer that ALL the kids wanted wasn't an Apple or a nasty IBM that thier dad had at work. They all wanted an Atari 400 or an 800 with a tape drive.
The spam in the 80s over computers was in your face 24/7. Yet, barely anyone bought any. For years all the conventions where people selling parts and software. I was on Minitel in NYC in 1991. That was the precursor to the internet. I could chat with people in France. Also was on lots of BBS's. That really hadn't changed since 1980 when I dialed up BBS's on my 300 baud Hayes modem.
The uptake of the general public to computers took over 15 years with HEAVY marketing. 1984 had WAY more marketing for computers than today does for crytpo. We are at maybe 1979 levels.

Crypto actually is over though. It was pure speculation. The true value of BTC is 0 dollars.
Comptuers have a real world use. Crypto doesn't.
Ethan Lee
Glad to see some sense in here.
If you actually take time to read about blockchain, think about the future, and generally exercise your imagination in some creative way, it is incredibly easy to see how early we really are.
I swear to God the only people who are going to "make it" are the autists who spent their youth playing Runescape and browsing Veeky Forums (or equivalents). High IQ INTJ exclusive.
I haven't worred about day-to-day or even year-to-year "problems" since discovering blockchain. This is going to be a lot bigger than the "dot com bubble" (which was limited to wealthy certified American investors in trendy American cities), and let me remind you that the internet still took over the world after that bubble "popped", so skeptics can get fucked again.
Jaxson Gutierrez
I like to believe that every post that doesnt assume low prices are better entry points is just satire

They really didn't. Maybe a spreadsheet for a local office but then no one could get it to work and your secretary had years of training on how to do it by hand.
It took years after email until people stopped using fax machines.
There is more real world use for crypto today than computers in 1985, fopr the normal joe.
This year you will be able to directly buy from Amazon in crypto.. then its ALL over...
Just hold tight.
Jaxon Ross
What is your philosophy as far as crypto is concerned?
I'm genuinely interested for your insight there. And thank you for sticking around. Veeky Forums needs people like you.

The problem is, of course, is that a lot of people aren't in on the joke and genuinely panic sell.

Open cryptography is messy. And it always will be. It's a mathematical possibility that requires prestidigitation in order to turn into a mathematical reality. In this case the prestidigitation in question is the concept of proof of work, but as is being revealed, this is an absolute cluster-fuck that scales horribly and relies on obscurity in order to operate smoothly.
The block-chain is solid. The block chain is good. It's closed-form cryptography. The problem comes with the decentralized wellspring of authority. In order to get this done it is BY NECESSITY (by the very concept of proof of work, which is the only reason any of this is even conceivable) horribly inefficient. And those economic costs do not go unnoticed once you start scaling it to the size and the speed of the global market. Not only that, but even if it were somehow conceivable to construct an alternative decentralized wellspring of authority, is it even DESIRABLE to have it be decentralized? Certainly the kind of people who touted Bitcoin in the early days think so, but does the global economy? Certainly not. The stability and accountability of centralized authorities are, honestly, far more desirable than a democratic- no, even anarchic form of trust, even if it weren't inefficient as all hell.
Jeremiah Murphy
It's true, I finally see the light. Sergey is THE ONE!!!!!!!
Ethan Watson
Well I hold alot of Bitcoin, because the first one to the game always gets a large share of the pie ala Apple. The I bought some coins that have thier own DEX like Waves and Block. I bought Sys, because I saw what happened to Ebay from the first week on. I bought ARK because its s simple straight forward wallet and there is great incentive to HOLD because of the DPOS. RLC Because I like the tech. Lots more coins, but I buy alot of what has a good community as well as they usually support the coin in down times and they always seem to pop up 100% out of the blue.
Other than that I HODL like crazy. My picks may not be as good as other peoples but they are mine, I didn't get them off some website.
You guys are living ina an incredible time. When you are 50 you will all be rich if you just wait it out. You'll probably all live to 90 as well as medicine gets better. You'll end up thanking the stars for Crypto.
Remember to be kind to others along the way. Not everyone has your fore-sight. They'll need a hand.
Ok I have to go an pick up the wife. Stay strong young men. The future is yours. Don't let a dip scare you off. This is the beginning of the beginning.
Camden Sullivan
I want to frame your post and hang it by my bed.

Yeah, there is absolutely no need for easy, transparent, unmanipulabe accounting. Also no need for cheap, near instantaneous money transfer. Hah, what was I thinking?

The public today is much more in tune with technology so things will be adopted at a much faster pace. I see people say 'you can't even buy anything with bitcoin' and it baffles my mind because here we are on Veeky Forums, a website that has allowed people to buy Veeky Forums passes with btc for years.

"you can't even buy anything with bitcoin" is baffling just because all that means is that there's visible room for growth

So you're saying there's room for growth?
Matthew Lopez
neither of you retards are going to make it

Its even worse for me because I knew about BTC since early 2013, and even did a few mining experients back then. I used my coins to buy drugs and VPN subscriptions and by the time it started mooning in late 17 I was too late to the game to make any serious money. Makes me fucking suicidal, FUCK.

While you pansy-ass day traders are posting pink wojaks and crying about getting raped by the IRS for your thousands of crypto-crypto trades in 2017 I'm out living my life. The most I worry about crypto is the half hour I spend each week DCAing a percentage of my weekly paycheck into more crypto. Twice a year I reevaluate my positions.
I literally don't even know how much my portfolio is worth and I don't care. This technology will be worth tens of trillions of dollars in less than a decade so why bother? I'll have fucking made it whether or not I spend every minute of my life obsessing over le shitcoin mewns like Veeky Forums turbo nerds. The drama over this by-the-book correction demonstrates that the vast majority of people here are high schoolers who can't think any further than their next keg party and don't even believe in the tech
