Put mech. eng. in suicide tier, well in Australia it is. My uni requires a summer internship (99% are unpaid slave labour) at an engineering firm in order to graduate. I have applied for so many places with no success, despite very solid marks, while the few females in my year already have $70k grad positions lined up. 10-20% of males are in the same situation and we won't graduate, and definitely wont find a job when we do.

whole great tier belongs to shit tier
unbelievable tier is a meme
>t. C.E barely making 25K a year

thoughts on this?
t. ausfag who just finished school last year

Is a masters degree worth it if I want to do OS level programming? I have a BS in CompE but sadly didn't get to learn anything OS/compiler related in college. I am trying to self study the material with textbooks but I am too dumb/lazy/impatient.

what country?

Poland?

anything related to computer science is good. Do not study engineering, you're literally better off getting an arts degree.

>Finance and actuarial mathematics lumped together
Literally why

considering going back to school for finance or economics, does anyone recommend one over the other?
I'm good at math and enjoy doing market research and statistics but i'm not sure which degree would be the right fit

Chemistry is in no way God Tier. Good luck finding a job.

t.Chemist

electrical engineers will soon have no job prospects. Machine learnign and AI will overtake our utility in society

I dont understand, why is software engy over computer science. In my country you have to study computer science to become a software engineer

I minored in econ. 100% worthless, I basically learned nothing of value. My starting salary was 15k more than the average Econ major from my school anyway and I didn't even have a decent GPA.

what did you major in?

statistics at a crappy school but economics at a gud one

I'm finishing my master's degree in physics this year. Also did a school with focus on IT before studying, this was a great choice as it allowed me to get side jobs much easier in this field.
For physics it was really hard to find related summer jobs for example, but now as I'm finishing the degree it's like everybody I talk to offers me a job.
Depending on how I like the field of my master thesis I'll go for a PhD I think, but jobs in the industry pay much better at this level and I don't think I want a university career with different postdoc programs etc.
Ask me anything a I guess.

I had a job lined up before I had even finished my Bachelor of IT. Also Aus here.

Did Politics, Philosophy & Economics and now doing a full-time, largely in-person coding course paid in half by for by a large bank.

Czech Republic
Unironically thinking about getting a truck licence and quit this dead end pajeet infested industry

You can actually make $100k starting with a math degree if you focus in the right thing such as stats and data analysis

Is 90 minutes one way too far to travel to and from university everyday? I own my home but don't want to rent out a 1 bedroom if I don't have to

I'd move if I were you

Based Aerospace Engineer reporting in

/comfy/
t. finished masters in electrical engineering

Where do you work?

>tfw shitty english degree
just kill me bros

its possible, but youre going to kill yourself no joke lol

I'm getting out of the military this summer. My college will be free, so I can pretty much do anything I want. I am looking into getting a degree in Computer Science. Should I go for something else? I would like something computer related.

What were you thinking?

>tfw mother is unbelievable tier but I am shit tier

Have you taken part in clubs or anything to show you're doing above and beyond just getting good marks? Companies want to hire people who show they can work, not just pass exams. Then again I'm from the US so it's a bit different.

t. Mech Eng who graduated 1 year ago with 3 offers and am currently making $75k/yr + stipend for grad school doing what I love.

I have a great tier degree (move biology down btw) and couldn't find shit so now I'm back in school for software. If this doesn't lead anywhere I'm necking myself

Academia is overrun with Pajeets and women working for pennies. HR is full of SJWs who unironically are more interested in how much you praise diversity and how many friends you have on facebook than about your qualifications. CEOs are most of the time at the golf course and give a shit about the company, because
>worst case Google buys us and you will be without job, lol
Learn a trade, become independent and don't fall for the STEM meme

Who the miseducated dumbfuck puts all science in one category.

Why the fuck mechanical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering are in the same tier with physics and math?

OP is a faggot.

I can't even find my mum's degree on that list. Where would physiotherapy lie?

study accounting. economics is worthless unless you are a blue blood sonofabitch with connections

>Info Sys master race
>CS cucks said I’d be jobless
>worthless degree
>no openings and CS guys just do all info sys work anyways
MFW making more than all the CS cucks slaving away in cubicle farms working with street shitters currently as a IT/data specialist and get to actually interact with other humans and not just code monkey spergs.

So you're saying I should just get a degree and go back into the military as an officer to hide from all of the faggotry in the real world?

Yes. If you have the chance to get to a military only academy, take it. Ignore the degenerate civilian education.

Unfortunately I can't go to a military academy because they have age limits, and i'm 22. I have already been looking into doing ROTC though.

Not familiar with US careers, but you may consider joining a private military contractor. Have friends with barely a high school diploma working as mercenaries making three time my wage without having to deal with a dying society of free loaders and niggers. Wish I was 25 again and could join the forces..

No combat experience though, I drive boats in the coast guard

Brainlet here, what do private military contractors even do?

chemistry, physics and math are all worthless tier. they can MAYBE reach good tier if you get a phd in them. otherwise shit

t. mech. eng

Only taking a guess here. The US Navy can not conduct law enforcement or board vessels because it is considered an act of war, so they bring US Coast Guard members on their vessels to do it for them. Navy is DoD, CG is DHS. I can only assume that it's sort of the same way with contractors. They don't fall under the same jurisdiction as the US military because they aren't actually part of the government. I don't think they have to play by the same rules.

Mostly protecting VIPs and reconnaissance. Also as mentions, they are much freer in their actions than the military, and the pay is better.
I can just speak from what my buddies tell me, but with basic training you should be able to apply and get the necessary training in house
