Right. If I make $100 on one transaction, I pay capital gains on that, but if I lose $100 on another transaction I end up paying $0 capital gains. Whether or not they are tax separately, they net each other out. Is this not how it works because this is exactly how I understand that it works.

Wrote my own. None of the ones I saw did what I wanted (I also track sentiment data from a few platforms, have algos to figure out long term holds).

I used Python and Backtrader. Took a couple months of fiddling with it part time, then chucked it on AWS. Good times user.
