The Big Short vs Cryptomarket

Disclaimer: I'm noob on economics, i'm learning more about finances and by a post i saw earlier about movies recommendation I watched the The Big Short.

I was blown away about the concepto of Synthetic CDOs that made me realize that is somewhat related of what is happening with BTC and the altcoins.

Here¿s a clip of the movie that made think about it:

Please, someone with strong experience (more than me anyway) could explain me if there's a correlation here?

Refrain to post replies like
>hurr hurr you want explanation on /biz you so dumb lo listen to this guys lelelelel, where's my LINKIN CHADs???

I know there are very intelligent people browsing this forum, I'm not looking for the ultimate answer but something that can give me more insights.

P.S. If you know more valuable material to watch/read that a entertainment movie, would be welcome.

Synthetic CDOs are nothing like crypto. You come here for intelligent insight, and your opening salvo is that? Really?

Here's a quick education: if you want to learn more about crypto, try watching a movie on crypto. Don't watch a movie on an entirely different bubble and then try and relate two incredibly unrelated assets to each other.

Sums it ups

OP watching that movie is scratching the surface of anything market related.
Crypto is completely different territory

Thanks for the responses guys. I mean. I have put money on some cryptos and ICOs, but yeah, I'm totally noob on the stock market vs crypto market. I know that crypto is a technology revolution, like moving from phone lines to cellphones.

You guys some good materials to read about the stock market?

The only thing the big short has in common with crypto is that the events in the movie spurred its creation. Blockchain is designed to remove the (((human element))) from market transactions. Shit like Moody and S&P giving AAA rating to dogshit CDO will be impossible in a smart contract or blockchain environment. Crypto will cull thousands of these parasitic leeches out of their jobs through its fullproof automation.

Warren Buffet to start, then work from there.

How about... read a fucking economics book and stop learning from Veeky Forums

What book? There are hundreds of them. Or you are unable to give a small hint or help, but perfectly fine for you just to say "lol look at this guy, he's lame for coming to Veeky Forums lelelel".

In my field, when someone is willing to learn, you either do it or just shut up and leave the bash aside.

Big Short is a hollywood movie starring Selena Gomez. You would be an idiot to take it seriously on anything.

...

Go watch Khan Academy videos on finance/econ if you really need to be spoonfed this much. Will teach you much more than shitposting on Veeky Forums and watching shitty movies.

and this which was just recommended to me

gen.lib.rus.ec/book/index.php?md5=F1A88BB978A54651657872C9264CB91E

what the actual fuck are you talking about?

Synthetic CDOs and Crypto are fucking nothing alike at all. I don't understand how you correlated the 2 with that scene.

The only thing similar about them is that they are both traded on unregulated markets.

>Fullproof

no blockchain has been hacked thus far that wasnt remedied in a few hours with a handy fork

jesus fucking christ the absolute state of nubiz

t. intern at goldman

Saw this movie the other day. It was pretty decent.

yikes so this is what its like to be a loser in this market huh? people literally don't know the first thing about investing itself or the tech they invested in? lmfao

why would be a loser? I researched each one of my "investments" and so far nothing but profits, not anything like 100x, but pretty decent ones.

I'm on the software development path so I'm well aware of how the technology works, but clearly I'm not a pro investor based with strong economic/stock background.

Wondering why you have this kind of attitude.

Don't hate me :-). Just learning about this topic so it can go well along with my software engineer career.

This has to be bait.

Just take a look at the world outside you and figure out why people do stuff. Follow the money. Every single investment is about managing risk. crypto allows for much securer transactions, thus it will be adopted.

Its also an excellent book

you don't need an economic or stock background at all, you don't have access to those tools or have any market influence. all you need to understand is demand and guess more demand or less demand. if you want an edge it is inside information.
