Is sriracha a black thing?

Is sriracha a black thing?

No, lol.

From my time as a cashier in a grocery store, years ago, blacks seem to favor Tabasco and Franks Red Hot sauce.

It's a Thai thing popularized in the US by a company started by Vietnamese-Chinese immigrants that's been around for decades but has only just reached flyover land so is hailed as a "meme food", despite having been ubiquitous for the lifespan of most people posting on Veeky Forums.

>MFW there are people on Veeky Forums still salty that their memefood is called out for what it is and posting about it.

>called out for what it is

It's something that's been around forever that meme kids on Veeky Forums are shitposting about because they just discovered it last year and for some reason it's some kind of pretentious hipster thing when it's the exact opposite.

OP here. Wasn't even aware it was a meme lol. Main reason I was asking is because my sister is a complete whigger and will advocate all the anti-white food memes. Just thought maybe it was some soul food staple or something.

>all that Asian writing on the bottle
>DUDE, IS THIS A BLACK THANG?

Well Blacks didn't invent all the spices they shame us whites for not using lol

doesn't matter what language is on the bottle, whites will be shamed for it being popular somehow.

Straight up. When I lived with roommates one always bought "Coq sauce" to put on his stuff. He got super pissed when it got popular and tripled in price.

No, but Frank's is.

that's because whites are super annoying when it comes to redistributing things that have existed for long periods of time
literally nobody cares about your bacon wrapped deepfried sriracha pho

No, most black people like Frank's or Tabasco. Seriously, a vast majority of black people do not get the difference, and see it as unnecessary. (Atleast up north, the time I spent down south I had seen a lot more culinary skill and interest from the black community).

Sriracha is actually pretty good hot sauce, but it's seriously overused and a meme at this point.

Legit question: why would you think its a black thing?

Figures, That shit is based.

Sriracha is only good on stuff at a Chinese buffet.

Now, however Sriracha make me nauseous for some reason.

No, it's red

we had sriracha around our house since i was a kid. I remember it in a jar and not a squeeze bottle.

I remember having it as far back as 95 in the "Chinese" fast food place in the mall food court.

Harissa>Sriracha

Those crafty arabs sure know some delicious stuff

Is it just me or did it taste better back then?

When it was just a weird thing that they had a chinese buffets I thought it was the shit! It tasted good on Lo-Mein and Sesame Chicken and everything.

Now I can't stand it

I still like it even though my palate has changed significantly since then. I associated it as heat and some flavor added to all the sweet salty sauces that the meats had in the food court. I cant eat fast Chinese food anymore without feeling like shit, so I assume the difference is just what I am putting it on, but Im sure its changed over the years.

Thought this stuff would actually be a good hot sauce with all the hype, it's just shitty ketchup.
