OP, you can also cut it into thin slices, toss it in flour and then pan-fry it. Make sure not to cook it too long or it will get a horrible grainy texture.

Soak in milk, slice, flour, fry. Serve with bacon, fried capers and gravy.

I bread liver in a mix of flour, cornmeal, and seasonings, then fry it up on an iron skillet.

Liver is great, my mom used to make it with butter and sage. Cannot find the exact recipe in English but anyway something similar to this one:

When my sister was a toddler she had low iron, so we threw liver in the blender, then threw the puree in an ice cube tray. She had little frozen iron pops.

OP here, I tried liver a few weeks ago and gave up on it because I overcooked it. Apparently in most culinary traditions liver is cooked very lightly.
