I did mine all online.. just tell them you have no transport to their office, they'll do a phone interview which basically asks you "how much income do you have? do you currently work?" then they'll approve an amount based on your answers.

I was surprised by the amount of sympathy I got last week when I posted about starting chemo. Getting infusion right now, actually. Last week was in the clinic, but I started home infusion today because I couldn't guarantee I'd always have a way there and back if I get sick from chemo, so that's nice.

Do you know the child development theory of the toxic parent/radioactive parent? Basically, kids emotionally closest to such a parent either die or are severely stunted. Kids farthest from them are unaffected. But at just the right distance, kids raised by radioactive parents grow up to surpass even kids from good homes. With a good outlook, you could take this horrific experience from your childhood and use it to your benefit and the benefit of others.
