Cold cuts

Am I the only one who finds these genuinely disgusting? Is there any way to make these edible?

Can you translate "cold cuts" for non American English speakers please? Based on your picture it appears to be sliced or shaved cold meat usually purchased in the deli section of the supermarket, often used for sandwiches that are popular among folk who wish to prepare them the night before and take them to work the next day to consume as a meal at lunch time, usually with salad and a dressing or condiment.

Based on all of the different varieties on offer, I'm curious to know how you could dislike all of them. Have you tasted each and every one that is available?

Thank you for your time.

deli meats/lunch meats/whatever

Ive tasted the more popular ones (ham, pastrami, salami etc.) and they made me retch

Have you ever considered that perhaps you, not the product are the problem? If it's for sale, there's a good chance many people buy it. As a product that has a used by date, it must be sold to an audience of consumers large enough to warrant the supermarket stocking it.

Now, may you please enlighten us as to how you have consumed these foods in the past? Have you eaten them alone, within or on top of bread, with or without you're wife's son?

This is all very important for the community to assist you further.

the thinner the better

drop them in the deep fryer for 15-30 seconds to make them even better

you're right, I guess I just generally don't like them.
I usually eat them in bread, with my wife's son.

shittest post on Veeky Forums today

Brilliant, thanks for sharing such personal and crucial details. May I suggest you try some chicken or turkey which has been prepared in a similar way? I myself do not enjoy ham or salami too regularly but I don't mind some of the other meats on offer.

Perhaps you could consider moving to a poultry "cold cuts" diet to see if it agrees with your tastes?

Unfortunately I am unable to do this yet as my wife's son is only 12 weeks old. He is very cute and smiles at his daddy but he's not yet ready for his daddy to shove meat in his mouth. Please don't be dirty, I am not going to place my banana anywhere near his mouth.

I'm sorry you feel that way.

will try, thanks.

>I find thing totaly disgusting
>help me eat thing
what's your thought process behind this exactly?

Try chorizo.
Also you might want to try buying a cold cut selection from whatever store you shop at along with a cheeseboard.

Try combining the meats and cheeses on different styles of cracker and bread.

If that fails you just don't like it but you tried.

eat them warm and with cheese

Why do americans call them cold cuts tho?

Cheeseboard? Brick cheese comes in thick enough plastic that you can cut through the top and get a chunk, but not cut through the bottom. Getting a board for this purpose is actual mental retardation.
If you're going to say it's "just for display" I'm going to laugh even harder.

A cheeseboard is a selection of cheeses you fucking peasant.

use logic and reasoning. its a meat, and kept cold. its cut from a slab. cold. cut. you generally have multiples of them, so cuts. cold cuts. Idiot.

For what purpose would you tell someone on the cooking board to go spend $80 on cheese so they can cut it up, put it on a board, and present it all pretty?
You owe me an explanation.

I tend to eat them on bread, im asking if there is a better way so i can actually enjoy them

thanks for the suggestions, ill try that tomorrow

Mate.
A small cheese selection board is 7 quid in Tesco, turn it the fuck in gobshite.

Gabagool?

Ovah eeeree.....

>go to Parma (Italy)
>eat the real stuff
>???
>profit

The only good cold cuts outside of Italy is the jamón ibérico. And if you have ever tried "Prosciutto di Parma" outside of Italy, it probably wasn't the real deal, the regulations on geographical denominations are pretty shit outside of Italy.

> he buys cheese wrapped in plastic

What kind of pleb are you? This board might not be for you. Stick to tendies and McDonalds.

Egullet is that way -------->

Just remember to get black label for Iberian pork.

Look into local quality meats and AOCs too, it's usually easier to sort through low quality local meats than foreign meats masquerading as the real thing.

When it comes to parma and other crudos try to look for importers that specialise in fine foods - you can usually source good products from then. In the UK Natoora imports some good meats.

Decent Iberico ham is king, as evidenced by the fact that it's the most expensive by a long chalk. The French do a lot of pretty good cured meats too.

Your problem is that you're buying cheap nasty shit.

Now that you mention it, some of them do kind of look like human skin. Thinly sliced meat is a weird concept.

Not only do actual ghetto niggers have internet but THEY'RE ON MY CK and they can spell for some reason.

Whether or not cold cuts are disgusting has a lot to do with the quality of what you're buying. The cheapest shit at a supermarket? Pig disgusting. Boar's Head tier? Still pretty gross, but can be tasty once in a long while. To do better you need a good butcher with access to a smoker or a specialty shop. That's when this stuff starts to get fucking delicious, but it's also more expensive than most people are willing to pay. If you're lucky enough to live near a polish, German, Spanish, French or Italian specialty shop you can get a taste of the really good stuff.
