I am writing a crypto research paper for school. I want to write about projects with real working projects. Are there any projects out there with fully developed products? I am not looking for cryptos that are only meant to be currencies like btc, ltc, nano, monero, etc, I am looking for cryptos that were designed to remove specific middlemen through a decentralized yet trustworthy marketplace.
Sia, Power Ledger, and Dent come to mind. What other projects should I be aware of?

Ethereum built a framework for other cryptocurrencies to exist but it's hard for me to evaluate the efficiency that specifically Ethereum has brought to the market. One could say it is the sum of the parts of all ERC-20 tokens but most ERC-20 tokens are shit coins. I think specific coins that utilize smart contracts would be easier to explain than ethereum.
BAT is interesting. I see BAT as an alternative web browser but is it eliminating a middle man or saving people money? Perhaps it is saving businesses money on better targeted ad placements? I only researched BAT for ~15-30 minutes that was like 2 months ago.
RCN and peer to peer lending fascinates me. I used to be an underwriter for merchant cash advances, and our industry was filled with unnecessary middleman fees that drove up the prices of our cash advances. I just looked through the website. I will read the whitepaper soon. Is it usable now though? It doesnt look like it.
