What does Veeky Forums think of the potato diet for weight loss? pic related
>fat fuck who loves food >practically pornographic foods >eat potatoes for two weeks >only potatoes >no salt >no oil >as many potatoes as he wanted >lost so much weight so fast his blood pressure meds almost killed him >mandatory cold showers after a week >straight vegan after >could not be happier
i'm not a fat fuck and my BP is good, but i think we all eat too much salt.
Just eat less and eat cleaner, stop with these bs meme diets.
Henry Harris
That's fucking retarded. You can eat any food you want anyway, so long as you maintain a caloric deficit.
Jacob Price
the point of potatoes only was to reset his palette. before the diet he would eat anything and everything. after, a bag of lays was too salty to finish.
Carter Wright
>mandatory cold showers after a week
What?
Aiden Sanchez
According to Ray Cronise (NASA scientist and architect of this diet) conquering cold has fucked with human metabolism. We are always in summer and the body is always in calorie-acquirement mode, or something to that affect. Cold showers trigger a metabolic response in the body that burns fat stores. I'm getting all this second-hand from the book of a juggler who went on the diet. Cronise's book is out there somewhere, it was Kickstarted, idk if it's available everywhere yet.
Alexander Miller
Jilette explicitly says that, basically, he's only able to do things in extremes. So if he was going to change his eating habits, he was going to have to do something crazy to really commit to it.
Joshua Cox
I don't see why he has to eat just potatoes to wean off his salt addiction.
Josiah Brown
It was a complete palate reset. All flavors seemed stronger afterwards.
Tyler Turner
Well, potatoes are very bland foods. In the book Jillette likens it to poetic justice. He thinks potatoes are funny.
Later in the book Cronise warns him off another "potato famine" because potatoes alone is not healthy food.
Andrew Lopez
John McDougall has a lot of stuff about potatoes and starches in general, potatoes are very underrated as a health food
Andrew Rogers
would sweeet potatoes work as well as normal ones?
Jose Butler
Vastly superior desu
Sebastian Foster
Dude looks close to death.

His whole schtick was "fat loudmouth asshole"
What's the appeal now that he looks like an AIDS patient? It completely undermines any libertarian credibility he ever had
It would be like if Ron Paul joined BLM and started supporting the Federal Reserve
Ryan Parker
STOP with your stupid gimmick bullshit, you want to lose weight? eat a fucking caloric defict and do some exercise
>What's the appeal now that he looks like an AIDS patient? So he's now an AIDS-patient-looking loudmouth asshole?

I've been listening to his podcast for quite some time. It had been peppered with anecdotes on weight loss and nutrition for the past few months.
I've since tried a "nutritarian" diet that I began in January.
I've lost just under 50lbs, gone from a size 40-42 waist to a size 34. I eat large amounts of food, I'm never deprived and I look and feel great. I plan on losing another 20lbs before I consider myself at target weight.
>tldr; the diet is great, and I don't plan on ever stopping with it.

>trusting le trash man for dietary advice
Adrian Rodriguez
He specifically states that if you look to carny trash for dietary advice that you are fucking stupid.
Ayden Brown
That sounds stupid as fuck, which is probably the result of the inventor knowing nothing about human evolution (working at NASA doesn't make you an expert on anything except space). Humans evolved in Eastern Africa, which isn't exactly known for its cold spells and have adapted to live in almost every climate that exists on this planet. Obesity was never an issue, regardless of how warm it was. It might sound like it makes sense at first glance, but most nonsensical broscience shit like this diet does before you apply any actual science to it.
Likewise, the idea of the potato diet sounds incredibly unhealthy. Weight loss isn't hard. All it requires is exercise and eating less. It really shouldn't be so common for people to make up completely bullshit like this because fat people are lazy.

>tfw ten pounds in four weeks
Feels good. Gonna make it I hope.
Dominic Parker
He was far too old when he dropped all that weight, his skin and body can't bounce back at all, so now he looks like a mashed potato man.
