What's the most expensive food you've ever tried?

Was it worth the price?

$40 for some duck and potatoes in NYC

No it wasn't worth it, no meal is worth that much to me. Once I learned how to cook I pretty much stopped eating out unless I have to.

60 piece buffalo wings from checkers for my birthday
I ate them all in two days too

it was payday

based fatbro

Probably the most expensive thing I've ever eaten was probably Russian caviar washed down with vintage Champagne at a party at a Chateau in Switzerland. Worth it? Absolutely, it was free.

That someone else paid for? My boss bought me a $85 steak in Vegas a few years back. It was pretty damn tasty.

That I bought? Uh....excluding spending several hundred dollars at bars on a few different occasions...friend of mine and myself went to a foo-foo fancy French restaurant once. I think it was like $60 each? I remember I had escargot, some braised beef thing, and shitty brownie.

gf and I dropped $600 at Alinea during their early days

was fun but not worth going back

$325 for two 14 course meals at one of those molecular gastronomy places.

It was really good.

Yankee stadium has a steakhouse. It was my birthday and I think I spent like $195 on this gigantic steak. A few sides, beer, and dessert

I tried some beluga caviar which smelled and tasted like cum

You've never paid over $20 for an entree before? Geez...

I don't know if it counts because it was comped, but a bunch of wagyu.

Context: In 2001 I was newly married, had just bought a house and didn't have much disposable money.

We went out one afternoon with a friend and his girlfriend and watched the film 'Amelie' (thought of it as a nice candied pick-me-up after the non-stop shit-torrent post 9/11).

This girlfriend of his was different. After the film she launches into an angry rant on how terrible the film was...how the accents were all wrong, etc, etc.

Changing the subject, boyfriend guy asks where to go for dinner. We were all good with nearby pub fare, but not girlfriend lady. No. She refused. She wanted to go to one of the most expensive restaurants in the city. A disagreement occurs when we point out that money's tight. Bitch lost that one eventually, and tearfully chewed on fries as we dined with beer.

Like $50 for a sashimi course
Almost threw up eating the shrimp heads because I'm a pleb, but the rest of it was an impressive experience
I don't know if I'd pay that much again but it sure was neat

I live in upstate NY, this place was considered "fancy"

I paid like forty Canadian dollarydoos for a "fancy" steak and egg brunch with mimosas. First time I've ever been out to eat somewhere nice alone, I was traveling and I usually just get shitty fast food and snacks but it was really nice to treat myself for once.

I was in Atlanta for an expo and with the rest of my food money, got some crazy expensive fried chicken for like $35.

It was delicious and worth spending company money, but slightly sullied at end when the nice waiter said "I appreciate cash tip so Uncle Sam don't need to know"

family meal of 4, several king crabs + dishes about $500 leaf money.

I had a steak that was almost $40 once, was good but not particularly memorable. I don't think it was worth that much

Most expensive single menu item was a steak and lobster entree at Gallagher's in the NYNY in Las Vegas in and around $110

Most expensive total was a Valentines meal at an Italian hole in the wall with a wine pairing with every course. $1200 when it was all said and done for my wife and I.

Nice blog

Not sure... I was going to say abalone, which is amazing, but I think I may have had more expensive in my childhood dining at Bay Area restaurants such as: Lark Creek Inn, Postrio, Stars, Bridges, Mudd's, Santa Fe Bar and Grill, Bay Wolf, Chez Panisse, and etc... Too young to appreciate it or know the price, unfortunately.

Kobe beef.

No.

I moved to the United States from Ethiopia. My sponsor spent $8.00 for a combination meal at Whataburger.

pretty disappointing 5000 meter tonight hey

Depends on your definition of "expensive food". If you mean spending the most amount of money for a small portion, then it'd be a nice porterhouse steak at an Italian restaurant. It was definitely worth it, but we spent about 120 with drinks and appetizers for the both of us, my steak having cost about 50 altogether.

But I once spent 80 bucks on Doritos Locos tacos, double decker tacos made with more Doritos Locos tacos, and a bunch of crunch wraps. There were also a bunch of value menu items bought just to try them out. All for two people.

I occasionally smoke marijuana, and I am not good at it.
