I'm thinking of making Ripple xRapid (XRP) my main investment.
It seems like useful technology.
Convince me otherwise.

XRP is great but it’s probably a long way off from significant gains.
Realize that it will take time.
That's fine, I went into this planning for gains 5-10 years in the future. Anything else I should know?
What are some coins that I can make gains on 2-4 years in the future then also, while I wait for my XRP gains?
How long we talking?
ripple is unironically probably one of the 5% coins that will make it through the next 5 years.
Unironic brapper.
That's what I'm thinking, especially if they regulate or ban ones like bitcoin that are used for illegal activity. Some countries are already looking at introducing regulation and they are going to bring it up at the next G20 summit.
I'm 95% in XRP. Only a complete fucking retard could ignore the inroads and partnerships Ripple has made.
We'll see $10 this year. After that? Who knows...
i doubt we will see 10 but 5 or even 7 is possible and likely.
You're giving up the moon missions for a slow 10x? user, I...
stay poor
It’s teally hard to say because I think it will be watershed.
Whatever your target minimum position is, hold that and trade with the rest or diversify.
I got into crypto mainly for XRP, did my research, after the dip in January I realized that I needed to diversify, but stay true to research I’ve done.
Hearing other people’s fud or personal negative ideas about a speculative asset won’t make your research null, if your initial research was sound.
Invest in ways that best suit your personality.
>tldr have a plan and stick to it
I bought my XRP @ 3 cents.
Take 10/.03 and share your answer with the class.
Haha, you know I meant as of right now, but cute
Do you think it will hit $600? I was looking at some speculator's youtube videos, multiple people said that it could get up around that price if it replaces SWIFT, and that wasn't even including if you factor in people buying it for speculation, just the banks buying it to move money.
Should I hold out for $600? I think if it reaches $100 I will be tempted to sell and fly to Nippon to fuck away my yellow fever.
The only way I see XRP getting that high is if the following happens:
1) It achieves utterly e-p-i-c levels of adoption by financial institutions AND serves the remittance needs of major, worldwide corporations like Amazon or Google.
But as of right now Ripple is not targeting those kinds of payment flows, they just want the banks. Though heavily support companies implementing XRP of their own accord.
2) 95% of the crypto market is killed off due to regulation (which is certainly coming) resulting in far fewer cryptos for people to speculate on.
I think some *realistic* goals for XRP given Ripple's progress as of late are $10 in 2018, $20 in 2019, and $100 in the early to mid 20-20s. This will be a slow and steady gainer.
I'm not even considering prices in the multiple hundreds atm.
I'm 90% XRP and proud
Also keep in mind SWIFT is not going to just roll over and die. They have enough money and influence to develop their own "XRP" & blockchain. But they are not the be-all/end-all of payment remittances. They are the largest, to be sure, but certainly not the only one. Ripple doesn't have to overtake them to be a force to be reckoned with, there's far more non-Swift banks in the world than Swift ones.
Don't. Banks like the tech but the token itself is useless. Do heavy research OUTSIDE of Veeky Forumsrael before you make a huge commitment.
I think XRP and XMR will be the top 2 in a few years. One for the lawful economy and one for the criminal economy.
My target is $1000. This is based on a few assumptions.
1) XRP becomes the preferred medium of exchange for international payments.
2) because of the above, corporations and individuals hold XRP as a store of value because there is constant, international, Trillion-dollar demand.
3) Ripple does not sell ass 55 Billion XRP that is in escrow. They hold 50 Billion XRP in escrow and make it last at least 100 years. XRP would have a market cap of $50 Trillion. Ripple labs becomes the head central bank of the western world and uses its reserves of XRP to selectively intervene in the financial markets.
There is more than 90 Trillion central bank paper and electronic money in the world today. This is only what the central banks have publicly admitted to printing, so who knows what the real number is. XRP can absorb $50 Trillion of this liquidity and save the Western financial system.
it’s my main blockfolio coin but it’s already 100000000000000000000xd. right now i’m happy if i can get 30-40% profit on it
That's a good idea but I think it could be banned by G20. I will buy XMR after the summit if it's not.
I want to believe, if it hits $1k I could retire, but I'm just hodling out for a nice vacation.
If SWIFT straight up rips off XRP and makes their own I will invest in that one too. But Ripple certainly has the lead with already working technology.
The token could replace the billions of dollars just sitting around in vaults to be used in transfers. There's a huge market for it. Also all the partners that are using the two non-xRapid (XRP) services from Ripple will soon begin to use xRapid because it's cheaper.
The only reason I don't own XMR is because the black markets are at most 20% of the global economy. Furthermore, people in the black market will always have demand for legal money and assets, but not all people in the lawful market will have a demand for illegal money or assets. Therefore, I believe that XRP will outperform XMR. If I ever need XMR in the future it will be easy to trade XRP for it.
I wont sell my xrp for a good 5 years. All my other coins are open game.
You dont need xrp for banks to transfer money in house, which is what they are using ripple's tech for. XRP is not needed.
so, xlm or xrp?
