"chili paste"

sambal oelek isn't a hot sauce

It can be used as a sauce. I put it on anything I want to add some spice to.

I like off-brand Sriracha

Huy Fong a shit

I love sambal but I can't find any good sambal ever since I moved to dublin.

There are so many off-brand Sriracha out there. Most of theme are passable.

I keep getting from people that see my Sriracha that "hey, that's not the real one".

Yeah, and your point is? It's still a hot sauce.

Lao Gan Ma wins hands down.

>Californian conglomerate founded by a Vietnamese businessman who copyrighted a Thai recipe
>"the real one"

agreed but hard to find in my area

Well if we're going to include cooking pastes then toban djan beats sabal oelek, hands down.

How Can Mirrors Be Real If Our Eyes Aren't Real

That's like sriracha without sugar?

He didn't copyright shit
Also he's an immigrant. He's not some cali dude who surfed when he was younger

>I don't know what the world conglomerate means

If Sriracha didn't take off, no one would give a shit about it
It would be niche like sambal is
So yeah, for all intents and purposes. it is the real one

Personally I prefer a good bottle of 'cha by my side at all times. It goes on literally everything. Squirt a little on your 'chos with some 'penos. You just can't go wrong with it.

How much more spicy is sambal compared to sriracha?

Why hasn't anyone brought up Tabasco? That shit is fantastic.

Same amount of spicyness just more garlicy.

Depends on the type of sambal. Sambal manis is more sweet than spicy. Badjak is medium, and oelek or brandal are very spicy, of the top off my head. There are tons more though
