Krokodil is made by reduction of codeine (methylmorphine), which is easily available over-the-counter in Russia. The codeine is reduced using iodine and red phosphorus, with the red phosphorus reducing elemental iodine to hydrogen iodide which with red phosphorus is an excellent reducing agent. The use of iodine and red phosphorus to reduce the codeine is also used to make methamphetamine from pseudoephedrine which is known as a "red, white, and blue" cook.

anyway, isn't there a medical treatment for necrosis ? isn't there a a drug that kills or stops the flesh eating bacterial ? coz if I remember right, the only solution so far was to cut away the necrozed part so the infection doesnt spread.

"Necrosis" literally means tissue dying. Of course there's nothing to do with dead tissue but cut it away before it rots and poisons the tissue beside it.

Because you inject a destructive compound into the limb. Apply a fucking torniquet for long enough and your arm will turn necrotic and fall off too. Does it mean that ropes wires and strings suddenly are a mortal danger to be paranoid about? There's a lot of things that can be used to maim and kill you when used wrong.

Krokodil is an expression of utter despair, of caring so little for the future that you go for the cheap high no matter what it does to your body. But you don't normally end up like that after one dose, you keep coming back, and ignoring the damage, or rather, fleeing from the increasingly appalling reality that includes the damage, into the high where it doesn't matter.

Other common forms of drug abuse can have results that are just as bad, but are not generally as consistent and graphic as the necrotizing effect of krokodil. Most drugs come from dealers, who not only face some competition, but also want the repeat business of surviving customers, and generally have some degree of human decency, not to mention the many people in the community, including the police, who will want to stop someone selling uncommonly harmful drugs. So they fix these problems when they're this blatant.

Krokodil is home-batch desomorphine: potent, cheap, and seductively easy to make (in countries where codeine is available over the counter). It's certainly possible, and not even very hard, to purify the product to a degree that at least these effects can be avoided. But when the guy making it is just an addict who can't afford anything better and NEEDS to be high RIGHT NOW, he's not likely to do his homework and buy the additional supplies.

Not it would not. That's why you should not inject drugs. Reason of such terrible effect is fine send in medicine from what they make codeine. Skin will infiltrate it and than it would not be more dangerous than heroin. People that make and use this drug is to stupid and lazy and have no access to equipment to infiltrate that really microscopic particles of send. And exactly that cause blood clotting and then thrombosis. Without blood circulation flash start to rot like it already not connected to body.
