>gois dey will distribute da whole supplyyy!1!! They already distributed everything if you read the document, the rest of the supply is being used for projects and inflation.
>hehe gotcha, dey will gib all da xlm to projects!!! free monies!!! WE XLM is used as a bride for transactions. Companies like FairX who recieved a big chunk of XLM cannot sell them or "cash out". XLMs purpose is to transfer different currencies between each other. Example: Person A wants to buy LTC for 500 USD from Person B. Person A places $500 buy order. USD -> XLM Person B sells $500 worth of LTC LTC -> XLM FairX uses about 1400XLM for this transaction ($500/$0.36=1400XLM) 1400 XLM -> LTC to Person A 1400 XLM -> USD to Person B
A 2800 XLM Bankroll was needed for the transaction. Now, do you understand what Stellar means by """giving away""" XLM to institutions? They aren't giving away free money, they are providing a supply of XLM so exchanges can do transactions.
You are literally a retard if you aren't invested in this. FairX is what everyone wanted Coinbase to be.
I already have enough in community pool This If they are stupid to fall for the coordinated FUD, they don't deserve to be rich

500 Startups built on the Stellar network will be announced at once. i.e: The next step of SDEX.

>95% of the lumens created when the Stellar network began will be given away to the world. >5% remains with Stellar.org for operational costs.
>Stellar.org designed the giveaway program to ensure that lumens are given away to diverse groups:
>50% to individuals who want lumens >25% for nonprofits to reach underserved populations >20% to bitcoin holders For more information on this breakdown, see the Stellar.org mandate.
>At the genesis of the Stellar Network, 100 billion lumens (XLM) were created as specified in the protocol. As part of its custodial mandate, SDF is entrusted to oversee that the vast majority, 95 billion, of the lumens are distributed to the world.
>SDF manages the execution of lumen distribution, with oversight and direction provided by SDF’s Expansion Board. The initial lumens held by SDF are required to be distributed to the world in the following manner:
>50% for distribution via the Direct Sign-up Program >25% for distribution via the Partnership Program >20% for distribution via the Bitcoin Program >5% held by SDF to support operational costs

I love it where there is a hardcore autist spreading FUD about a coin. That is when you know to buy buy buy

Did it really drop to 2799 sats? And why?

XLM may be useful, but XLM as an asset will not apreciate in value. The supply is infinite user, there is inflation built in and 80% of the INITIAL supply is not distributed yet.
> XLMs purpose is to transfer different currencies between each other So why wouldn't I invest in fucking B'NB? At least supply is limited, they burn coins every quarter and I can pay trading fees with it. I know the bags are heavy, but take your shilling back to eddit please

Why should I not? Turbo Autism gives me a better kick than coffee.

With FairX you’ll be able to trade any kind of assets, not just shitcoins The point of having such a big supply is to be sure no one buy all of it and put the network down, not to drag the price down Don’t forget it went from $0.02 to almost $1 in less than 3 months.
Joshua Lee
>XLM may be useful, but XLM as an asset will not apreciate in value. The supply is infinite user, there is inflation built in and 80% of the INITIAL supply is not distributed yet.
This, basically.
Gavin Thompson
> With FairX you’ll be able to trade any kind of assets, not just shitcoins Dude that's cool and all but why would it make XLM apreciate in value? I just don't see how the math works. Even Ripple has a capped supply.
Noah Edwards
Why would anyone buy a coin, that gives niggers free money? Are you a nigger-loving cuck or something?

That may be true, but I think I highlighted an inaccuracy in the OP which would have gone unchallenged by Stellar shills.
The response to the "FUD" tends to be:
>it is not actually being distributed to individuals
The language on the website seems to be fairly unambiguous. I am yet to see how this has supposedly been misinterpreted in order to spread FUD.
I also don't understand why the reactions to this are so extreme. Getting it into the hands of people seems to be a fine strategy to make the coin more popular. It's just not ideal for investors.
>the giveaways are over
No they are not, according to the website.
>giving the coin away will encourage adoption and therefore increase it's value
There is a case to be made for this. The main reason I am skeptical is that conquering the world is not an easy task and they face heavy competition.
I am also sure that if there are any serious indications that there are serious prospects of Stellar becoming the currency of Africa, the Chinese will step in with some serious competition.
Nolan Lopez

If you hold XLM and you're not trading on StellarTerm you are legitimately retarded
