BUY BUY BUY

>20 cents a pound

Please OP, show us some of your canning porn. Take some pictures of those dirty little tomatoes.

Shit thanks for reminding me. I need to do jalapeños also this year.

this

i am interested to see your process OP

>tomatoes are 20 cents a pound
I hate you so much OP.

>CANNING TIEM

skinned and cored

If you have a chest deep freeze with a shitload of room you can put those in heavy duty ziplocks and remove all the air. They're last a year. Otherwise canning is great.

i don't have that but even if i did i can't imagine it being a better system than home canned

Wouldn it be better to buy 10 lbs then reduce it, cube it up, then freeze?

they look like baby circumsized dicks.

It's not better, it's just an option. Canning is great. In an energy quotient I don't know what would cost more at the end.

freezing will consume a fuckton more energy

Hit up a CSS and ask for blems.

>Mfw $0.00 /lb.

Got like 100 lbs of seconds at .10$ a lb
What do I do with em' ck?

it was a pretty bad year for crops in general
i don't think they're giving away anything edible

they're processing now
16 pints

can upload a couple better slr pictures i took

can them, foo

...

i invented this trick of putting rings between the jars so they don't touch each other

all fulled up

I'm so hard right now

My mommy got 120 lbs for free. Very few even had blems.

now for my turbo jew cost breakdown

$9.99 tomatoes (1 bushel in season, 50lbs)
$1.40 electricity (1 electric element for four hours -2.3 kW @ $0.103/kWh)
$5.97 canning rings ($1.99/12 pack)
$0.02 tap water (generous estimate)

36 500ml jars (free from before)
my time (free because it's the weekend)

>TOTAL COST

>$0.10/100ml

--------------------------------
walmart house brand
$0.13/100ml

unico “premium”
$0.21/100ml

eden and muir glen organic

$0.50/100ml

*prices in CAD

Damn, that's actually a really reasonable cost breakdown. I'm impressed.

thank you

last year i think i was at $0.14/100ml, a penny higher than walmart, but i found cheap canning rings this year

walmart tomatoes are garbage anyway

Great idea, thanks

where u live?

>mfw bought once large tomato on sale today
>$1.88/lb
