it's happening

science research really is stagnating globally

we really need another world war to filter out all the shit from the gold

Are you sure that this is not from the future?

Little short term selective pressure for high tech.

Source?

how do you recognize it?

>thinks sending a photon into the past means humans will be able to do the same

kek, it's not happening sorry son

maybe we can shed light on some things we don't know from the past.

How can you believe observations are 100% true?

>Tim Ralph and his PhD student Martin Ringbauer simulated a Deutsch’s model of closed timelike curves
>Although it’s just a mathematical simulation, their model is mathematically equivalent to a single photon traveling through a closed timelike curves.
amazing!

You guys I am so going to be Jack the Ripper some day.

In a movie.

Kek

You will be able to download porn before you even click the button

>thousands of reported cases of rapists cockblocked by a flash of light
>all claim they saw into the future

Take your pedophile cartoons back to .

Fucking degenerate, you are the reason this board is beyond saving.

is ytv related?

>time-coffee-space-contiuum

Will I still have to click the button afterwards?

likely some type of aliasing error

>:)

More then that, since you'll only click to send the porn back in time if you actually liked the porn, you'll have the perfect fap everytime.

By "high tech" you mean websites peddling ads for penis enlargements, correct?

This means that time travel may be discovered in the future which means that our entire history was created and maintained by time travelers as they could change it whenever they wish

Remember this OP?
Now stfu shitposter
>implement closed timelike curves in a computer processor
>compute O(n!) problem, encode result in photons
>send photons back in time to before starting computation
>problem becomes O(1)

is it possible Veeky Forums?

If you don't start the computation, how would you get the result in the first place? Or last?

>he doesn't know

jesus fuck youre dumb

>mfw suddenly the most popular field in math is determining if something is computable or not instead of optimization

I'm German, when and how can I send Hitler a copy of Wikipedia?

He would need a time machine, dumb ass. If we just invented it, then that is how far communication from the future could go. OP is full of crap, though, because time travel is impossible

Once you start the computation, it will finish before you started it, so in the past-self's perspective the computation never ran. Which would implie a continuum of the consciousnes. (^:

nothing new

we do this every night when we sleep

our consciousness tunnels to the edge of the metauniverse (the false reality which we perceive in these simple physical vessels) and we manifest into our true bodies made up entirely of emotion and energy in the real universe which connects us all to god (the universe)

>our consciousness tunnels to the edge of the metauniverse (the false reality which we perceive in these simple physical vessels) and we manifest into our true bodies made up entirely of emotion and energy in the real universe which connects us all to god (the universe)

A++ parody of bumbling new age retards

This doesn't work.

Consider how fast technology has been growing.

We went from flying a few hundred feet in 1903 to flying to the Moon in 1969. If we invented a time machine today, and 10 years from now we traveled back to today with a detailed report of every technological advance in those 10 years, we'd essentially skip 10 years of development. And we could repeat this over and over, until eventually we'd invent a time machine that could go back to before it was made.

ur a homo

its " u r a homo" ediot

They still haven't proven useful packets of information can travel back in time, of that I'm sure.

> implying the past exists
wew lad

>until eventually we'd invent a time machine that could go back to before it was made.
Even if time travel were possible, it may be that this is impossible.

that's just a pasta user

sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/04/160413120954.htm

Proof

we did, that's how they had advanced technology, but the previous information sent wasn't enough to they win the war, since the past changed.

I smell a good fiction here

Need a longer experiment that take place over the time period of 1 year to convince me.

If the time travel experiment can send light 1 year back in time, then I'll believe the experiment is correct.

PS: If the time travel experiment can send winning numbers for the next Powerball drawing (next Wednesday) encoded in light message, then these scientists will be filthy rich.

>current year
>has not seen documentary proving hitler didnt commit suicide and escaped
>doesnt realize hitler is still alive and well living like a king with jew gold

Can we change the future?

Let's say we send message from the future identifying the killer of a little girl. So we lock him up to prevent him from killing the little girl. Will we change the future by saving the little girl's life? Will this create a time paradox?

This question has been addressed several times now, with several hypothesis for solutions already.

1.) Paradoxes are possible.

2.) Closed time loops are possible. (Paradoxes impossible.)

3.) Alternative realities.

is a physics degree worth getting? i feel like engineers can't really discuss shit like this without going on about applications, even though there will be tons of that in the future.

If you are proficient in physical and math, then physics is a good degree. If you are proficient in physical science and chemical science, engineering is a better choice.

Basically, engineers know how its done, physicists know how to do it. You need just as many engineers to build a telescope as you need physicists to operate it.

>Degree meme.

Mathematics.
$300k starting. Any job.

what if i want to bake my cake and also eat it?

BS, no.
PhD, yes.

Then fuck off

you are an indoctrinated piece of shit who thinks math will get you rich.

why? what's wrong with being a researching engineer who happens to know more physics than CAD skills?

isn't a PhD a pain though? i wouldn't want to spend my life on it only to be making as much as i would with a BS as a junior researcher for some company.

How nu ru

i think you mean:
IQ 180 good will hunting who happens to do math
$300k starting. any job.

you:
IQ 140 from iqtest.com who has a "degree in math"
$30k starting. one job.

How stupid ru

>math
>overpaid

This idea wouldn't even work.

What if as a result of Steven Hawking having people arrive at his party, he decided not to send the invitation after the party, which results in a paradox.

seriously guys, 300K starting is an oldass meme

shti but i dropped out of cs and started studying real analysis because 300k starting

Why wouldn't he? Also, if you believe time travel exists, what would be the point if you couldn't actually time travel to his party?

>Send photon back in time
>See things into the past
More like we would be projecting images into the past.
>Weaponized to use images to alter the past
>We chronosphere now

>See things into the past
I think he meant we could use light up areas in the past so see better. For example if someone was raped in the night, send photons back to light up the guys face sothat they can see it.
