Why would something that is open source software, and that was created in 2009, be worth more then gold? Why would piece of fucking software that can be forked tomorrow and made better (or completely irrelevant by other coin with better tech), be compared to mother.fucking.gold? A scarce natural resource and element that people tried to "create" and copy for thousands of years and never got anywhere?
Is there something I dont understand? Is everyone else larping? What makes BTC so special that even as tech dinousour and complete software POS makes it worth anything at all? Explain this biztards.
*I actually hold crypto but only to make money of retards
Jaxson Gray
Get out of crypto, it's not for "people" like you.
Owen Nguyen
What happens when we capture an astroid that has 10000x more gold on it than all of earth?
Samuel Wright
Wait till OP finds about the Internet and when it was created.
Adrian Reed
The scarcity comes from computational power / energy costs.
And like everything else it's only worth what someone else will pay for it.
Benjamin Allen
>the absolute state of biz
Nolan Reed
Only the trust value matters, just like gold, gold is actually pointless, fiat is pointless, everything material is pointless, all we need is water, air and food. The tech doesnt matter.
Jack Barnes
op i dont know. one day this will crash to shit.
but i have now lost too much betting against it. its obviouslly not happening in the immediate future. time to jump on the gains train and hope you can time your jump off before the fucker derails doing a 1000 mph

So if I eat caviar my shit is objectively worth hundreds of dollars? Or say, if I dig a hole for entire day and then I fill it up again by the end of the day, should I expect to be paid given that I worked entire day on digging and filling useless hole?
Same as what happened when Iphone came, Nokia went under. That is generally how it goes...something better comes and old shit goes out of the window. See Myspace, Nokia, Blackberry, Sony etc.
Angel Powell
Then gold becomes 10kx cheaper. Supply and demand
Justin Phillips
>"Why would something that is open source software, and that was created in 2009, be worth more then gold?"
Proprietary fags BTFO again.
Carter Jackson
Gold is not pointless. Its used in electrical componenets as conductor, in dentistry, health and aerospace industry as well as jewlery at the end of the day. It is objectively beautiful, has thousand years of history of usage in all civilizations across the globe and frankly that is what gives it its worth.
Bitcoins biggest problem is that it is software. Forkable software. You can live in basement and fork it (see Zclassic and Bcash for ex). To say its valuable because chinese mining cartels are mining it is ludocrious desu. And unlike internet, it has hunderds of better alternatives. It is known to be unscalable and bloated, only used as means to margin trade and arbitrage altcoins and left people with heavy bags while you cash out.
Dylan Sullivan
>I actually hold crypto but only to make money of retards
Justin Allen
Because cryptos are good at being money while gold sucks at it. Past its utility as metal people only by gold because other people buy gold. Gold's value is running on historic fumes. So the only reason to hold gold is to make money off of retards.
Sebastian Ross
How is BTC good at being money? NANO, XLM? Sure, fast and very cheap. From everything we know scalable (much more then BTC) and much more eco friendly.
BTC is so bad at being money that even though it was envisioned as p2p cash, most of its holders hold and describe it as "store of value". Why? Because it sucks ass as money.
Gavin Jones
FAITH AND BELIEVE
Tyler Long
Lol, you have no idea what crypto is. Leave and never come back
Jackson Torres
Why? I made six figures of retarded reddit "hodlers" such as yourself.
Robert Sanders
Why does a universal easily usable currency have more value than an impossible to use fucking bar of metal? Use nano and stop being retarded.
Juan Martin
Not an argument.
Xavier Gutierrez
Gold has mildly useful qualities, but so do many other metals. It's beauty is only cultural. Many early civilizations treated it like any other metal. Why don't we treat Iridium with the same esteem as gold? It has similar natural abundance and unique qualities. Gold's value is arbitrary.
Mason Garcia
>he still hasnt looked into flat earth
Jaxson Stewart
Bitcoin may have been made is 2009, but it's nowhere near the same. It's way more adaptable than new shitcoins.
Adam Clark
gold is used in mobile phones and many electronic devices as a conductor.
yes many early hunter gatherer civilizations did, because you literally cannot eat gold.
Gabriel Rodriguez
You're a literal brainlet holy shit, you even specify that something better will come and replace gold, yet you don't even realise BTC is that thing.
The most depressing thing of all is human history has ALWAYS been full of you fags, like from the dawn of time we can't get rid of you.

gold
historical value, art, value, status symbol, value, limited supply, does not tarnish good for infanity. mother fuckers start getting nuked and power grids go down. or power grid goes down for any reason gold is king.
Levi Sanchez
did you read my post? I said gold has mildly useful qualities. Those qualities do not lend itself to the valuation it has.
Leo Reed
>Bu bu chink miner cartels are dependable
They dont listen. Slow POS such as BTC cannot survive. It cannot survive while chink mining cartels use country worth of electricity per year to mine useless monopoly money that is not even used. If it was used we would probably be unable to have any other pow coin because BTC would take so much electricity.
Adam Young
BTC is simply a better system of money than anything before it.
Asher Cox
The only value in BTC as it stands today is its potential. BCH has demonstrated that a simple change can scale it in the short term, but past that things like the lightning network need to prove itself, or yes, Bitcoin is worthless. This is why being open source and forkable is a good thing.
>BTC is so bad at being money that even though it was envisioned as p2p cash, most of its holders hold and describe it as "store of value". Why? Because it sucks ass as money.
Compared to gold? While BTC sucks as cash right now, precious metals are worthless as cash and always will be. Even as a store of value the only benefit precious metals has over BTC is stability, and the fact that they can't go to zero because they have some value as metal. Being physical isn't a benefit. It's not a good quality for something that's supposed to be money. The only benefit it provides as far as I can think of is emotional. I do own gold and silver myself and I like to take some of it out to look at every once in a while. Gold is pretty.
Zachary Bell

RMS hates open source software, for exactly this reason, it's all about money.
Jace Foster
The worst part about that image is it's 110% fucking true, politics are a disease. You know where you belong, and it isn't this board.
Robert Cruz
You are dumber then a nigger. REAL money (gold) isn't supposed to go up or down in value! Why do you think it has been money for 5,000 years? If you put all your money into gold or silver in 1964 you could buy the same amount of gallons of gas today as you could in 1964. If you left it all in confetti dollars back then you can buy like 1/28th the amount of gallons of gas today as you could back then.
The REAL value in gold and silver will come after the deflationary collapse of all asset prices, and gold gets revalued one day to between 10k-and 100k per ounce.... and a median priced home is now worth 50k and your 1,2,3,4, or 5 ounces of gold buys you a home or business outright.
Why you think china? India, Russia, have been accumulating record tonnage of gold for years now? Why do you think regular chinks own 6k tons of gold collectively in their hands? You think they are all doing that for fun?
IF YOU REALLY WANT TO BE PROTECTED FROM THE KIKE JEW... make sure you have some gold and silver.
Evan Carter
It's not about bringing gold around to pay for cupcakes you brainlet nigger. Gold is MONEY and currency is need be.
If you don't have real money backing the currency than the kike Jew can confiscate all your wealth through inflation just like they have been doing for 100 years.
If you are anti gold the kikes are all laughing at you.
Not saying cryptos don't have their place, but if you don't have gold and silver also you are playing a dangerous game
Nicholas Morgan
I do own gold and silver.

Luis Gonzalez

Elijah Watson
gold is valuable because it has properties of good money and it's scarce. the practical applications don't give it its value, or else all gold would be jewelry/components, not stacked as bars in vaults.
crypto also has properties of good money, and more that gold lacks. it also benefits from the network effect. op is right about the forking, but that's precisely why everyone is speculating about which cryptos will become mainstays in the future.
Austin Martinez
