I like to mix ground beef and ground pork. And instead of bread crumbs I grind up some seasoned croûtons. For the glaze i tend to make it with a mix of ketchup, molasses, honey and Tabasco along with some other seasonings. Apply glaze several times during cooking.

Mix of meats is best, not required. In mine I put:
Breadcrumbs
Egg
Oats
Sautéed onion and garlic
SNAPPY TOM (ketchup is for plebs, except for the meatloaf sandwiches the next day)
Pour the rest of the snappy tom (or V8 if you can't find ST) over the top and dust with some parm.
Best recipe. Blam.
