In contrast, this article states that wtc will be providing services to alibaba cloud, not the other way around.
They are collaborating on smart cities and a wtc team member was pictured shaking hands with the alibaba cloud chief architect. I could sign up to be a partner tomorrow but I couldn’t get an audience with that guy.
So yes, a partnership announcement with alibaba cloud could be disingenuous (and in fact I think other projects have done this to hype themselves). But no, this announcement is not like that, and it is clear from the contents of the article which expands on the nature of the relationship."
