Whats so spooky about the Pi number ?

Whats so spooky about the Pi number ?

It's real

desu, if we can imagine that we can imagine it then that is close enough to be rigorous mathematics.

Nigga over there is fine both with creating 'imaginary' placeholders for irrational numbers, like the square root of two, and he is also fine with approximating these numbers when doing applications like plotting graphs.

If we can algebraically construct numbers whose square equals two and if we can get numbers that approximate that result then why is it nonsense for him to assign those approximated decimals to our constructed irrational numbers.

The analytical representation of irrationals is literally merging the concept of algebraic irrationals and approximated irrationals, which even in his world would make it rigorous.

I mean, if for algebra over the reals we assume that some number exists such that the square of it equals two, would it not make sense to state that any such number must look like our approximated results?

If not then what is it going to look like? 5? 5 3.994818? No, it wouldn't like that.

It would look like 1.41 though.

how the fuck can pi be a infinite number?

There is no such thing as infinite numbers.

The fraction of it goes on forever

There is no fraction that equals pi.

there is : 22/7

>There is no finite fraction that equals pi.
I fixed it for you

22/7 isn't precisely equal to pi

>>There is no finite fraction that equals pi.
>Implying there is an infinite fraction that equals pi

Pi/1

Duh

All fractions are finite.

It would look like ...

Aren't there sequences that converge to exactly pi? Or are they just approximations like fractions?

yes. heres one
4/1 - 4/3 + /45 - 4/7 + 4/9 -....

>...

Would Wildberger have a problem with this? Or is it different since the sum of the sequence can be proven?

>1/3 is finite

How's being retarded working out for you?

1/3 < 1

There it's finite

could it be because its a polygon with infinite sides?

How is not knowing the definition of what you are complaining about working out for you? Not that you're the first in this thread...

pi isnt a circle, pi is a constant relevant to circles, you fucking brainlet.

A circle is not a polygon as it is just one line with one curve.

1.0000..... is infinite

god: 1.0000.....
atheists: 0

By definition, for every real number there exists a sequence converging against it. That obviously includes pi.
