We had everything we needed when we were hunter-gatherers living according to the natural laws of nature and natural selection. We no longer live under these rules since we started creating technology. This started around the time of the neolithic revolution and is still going with the modern age of spaceships and microchips. Our survival before was based on our relationship with nature and the natural balance of the ecosystem. This was the environment that allowed us to evolve into large-brained mammals capable of abstract thought and technology. To reiterate, we no longer live under these laws. We cannot continue to exist this way, especially now with such a large global population and risk of destroying the earth we live on. We must find ways to innovate and develop technology further that allows us to live in harmony with the natural world. What we've been doing so far is too destructive. We need science if we want to survive.
