Why some people (mathematicians mostly) say that "pi is the answer for everything"? What does it mean or is it just a metaphor?
Why some people (mathematicians mostly) say that "pi is the answer for everything"...
>is it just a metaphor?
No, it's literally the answer to everything. Every single constant can be reduced to pi.
what
No mathematician ever said that, the closest thing will have been a math undergrad who will probably drop out.
More like e
More like 1
More like zero. After all, homogenous equations are b e s t.
It is a retarded metaphor, pi is just a number.
It has interesting properties though. Pi's existence directly implies that there does not exist a circle with both rational diameter and circumference.
In other words, pi generates many (relevant) irrational numbers and maybe that is what they meant when they say it is the answer to everything... but it isn't.
what a fucking meme
most integrals can be reduced to spherical or cilindrical coordinates which then end in some pi shit
it's like saying e is the answer for everything (yes you moron, it's the answer for all the diff eq course)
This is incorrect. The answer is 42.
