I dunno why everyone forgets this... Psychology only aims for normal behavior in the society in which it is practiced.

Fucking 13 year olds is a problem in modern society, thus it is a problem in modern psychology.

If everyone got married at 12 by law in this society, fucking 13 year olds wouldn't be a problem in psychology.

Similarly, if it was considered desirable to eat your firstborn in this society, and abhorrent not to do so, modern psychology would consider it a disorder if you were adverse to eating babies.

Essentially, human promiscuity, neoteny and concealed oestrus contribute to widespread sexual attraction to not only post pubescent youths, but in certain contexts prepubescent individuals as well.

This is coupled with the perpetual typically make - human - desire for sexual variation and novelty.

Due to taboos over minor attraction it hasn't been very well researched but here's some evidence:

An internet survey was carried out as part of the documentary "Are All Men Pedophiles?" in which men were shown pictures of females without being informed of their age and asked if they found them sexually desirable or not. Girls about 14 got the highest ratings: i.imgur.com/92eizz6.png

In one study (which I don't have a link for) men were asked to manipulate a computer generated female face until they thought it was ideal and the most attractive. The face they came up with had the dimensions seen in the faces of girls about 13.

It's known that facial attractiveness plays a much bigger role in determining overall attractiveness than bodily attractiveness, so these studies are strong evidence that men generally find adolescent girls the most desirable.

"Catch a Predator" type shows usually use girls about 14 as bait because that's what draws the most men.

The fact that the most popular age for porn actresses is the minimum legal age (18) strongly suggests that what the market wants is girls under that age. If there were no legal restrictions the most popular age for girls in the porn industry would be likely to be a few years younger.
