Nice accomplishment though. Not many succeed to get their own lab up and running as undergrad.
I had planned a small electrophysiology + virtual reality lab as an undergrad, and it was already a sealed deal with my professor. But my professor died of a sudden illness, and the research group was disbanded. Now, a year later, I'm starting as a Ph.D. student in a higher ranking university.

Can you blame them? They're literal lines of tens of thousands of people waiting to get any kind of funding.
My funding was real small. Gotta start somewhere. Just need charisma and the willingness to keep being rejected.
