Hey Veeky Forums, whats your favourite food texture?
the chewy sort of pasty bubble texture of cereals like steel cut oats or barley
crunchy sear on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside
That's a good question, OP!
Let me think.. hmm.. Soft serve ice cream maybe. Or maybe these divinity candy things; they're super light and airy and kinda dissolve in your mouth.
Crispy beer battered fried fish too.
Sautéed mushrooms
Very thinly sliced prosciutto.
>serve ice cream
just remembered glacial drinks: soft serve in a slushie.
the texture is magical.
Jerky. Too bad it's so expensive.
Sardines
The cheapest gummy bears I can find
precummy brownie corners
Maltesers
Make your own out of cheap cuts.
this crystallized peanut butter. it shatters into a hundred crystal shards when you bite into it.
Firm and seered.
shit man there are too many variations between gummies, gotta be more specific. Do you like the hard gummies or the really soft ones? All in all you like the "Q" texture, like me.
I really like the texture of cartilage myself.
Super-dense and moist bread pudding with ice cream in the same bite
not sure how to describe what I mean more than that, you know the cheap as fuck gummy bears that have probably been sitting there longer than the current pajeet has owned the store
it's peanutbutter and a type of toffee mixed together in sheets, kind of like a croissant. I also had one of these for the first time a couple days ago (Im not American) and they are really damn good.
Dense cheesecake.
A good burger patty with american cheese
extra crispy with ketchup
The perfect crispness of fresh produce. Like, stuff which just snaps off with light pressure of teeth.
Or very buttery soft raw fish.
A true patrician

>Melted mozzarella cheese
>Cold melted Parmesan cheese
>Cooked vegetables in a wok where they're cooked through but have a nice crunch to them still.
>Cooked vegetables on the grill that still have crunch to them with the added bonus of a bit of char.
>Cooked bacon that isn't crispy
>Soft buttery garlic bread
>Biscuits and gravy
Fucking hate that texture. Gives me goosebumps like nails on a chalkboard.
Handmade biscuits are my favourite.
Eat em without butter or jam. Just plain.
is the filling of butterfinger completely patented or something? It's kind of amazing with how crowded the candy market is that butterfingers are almost totally unique. I've never seen an imitator.
...
Alton brown jerky look it up
Foreskin
Lord Jesus help me I actually got wet watching this.
I want to fuck that.
Crispy and juicy
Mine would be between very light and soft or mushy.

Table grapes
Sticky date pudding
Cherries
cottage cheese, tofu or scrambled eggs
Cooked onions
Olives
Al dente pasta
Sourdough bread
After Eight.
White beans.
Fresh bread
It's not really a texture, but the feeling of biting down on a grape.
Or the contrast between good cheesecake and the base.
Maltesers are addictive. I know they're going to destroy my teeth. I know I'm going to feel awful after eating them. But if you hand me a bag of maltesers, they're going down.

How would they bake these cheesecakes that fluffy?
Shrimp! The large ones. Kinda squeaky but smooth.
steam, mother fucker
so just a fuck ton of water? cool.
Burgers have a nice mix of textures
you've go the buns, the mayo, then the salad, then you've got the breaded part of the chicken burger, then you've got the chicken itself
oh it's just such a simple yet wonderful combination
i think when i watch a show on the food network they said that it was peanut butter and potato flakes.
Yeahhhh. l I fucking love shrimp. And you can totally change it up by breading/frying, giving it my perhaps favorite texture of all - that crispy flaky godliness.
What are these called exactly? Is this a Taiwanese thing?
That's an odd one
Nice digits.
Meringue
Bean sprouts

hmm I love the way seaweed salad snaps around in my mouth.
fried spring rolls are similarly rewarding even though I have a painful tooth filling and only chew on one side.
I still love food but it grates on my jimmies that I'll never be able to take big ridiculous bites of anything again
When combined with the warmth of being freshly baked and the taste of being dunked in a velvety soup, nothing beats the crunchy crust followed by the fluffy and slightly chewy texture of a nice piece of rye bread.
I'm sorry I enjoy more than one thing senpai. Enjoy your tendies for dinner.
Hard to choose but either the tough chewiness of something like overdone brownie edges or the crispness of a very thin potato chip.
pressure fried chicken wings or drumsticks.
crispy outside, juicy meat inside, bone to gnaw on.
mac and cheese with pasta that's not overdone and an egg in the mix, kings Hawaiian rolls, and mixed nuts are runner-ups.
3 musketeers nougat. So light. So fluffy.
They were even better when they had the Butterfinger Crunch bars, which inserted wafers into the bar to soften the texture and you don't have chunks of the toffee sticking in the back of your molars.
Butter cookies, homemade scones
I actually hate those, I like Slush Puppies for their crunchy ice texture. Icees are also despicable.
I know more people who like that stuff better though.
Sometimes when I make lasagna I get a little bit of crusty pasta here and there on the top layer. Best part of the lasagna for me.
Google acrymalide
Fuck.
Can't be that bad though, right?

Yeah man, Loblaw's in Canada used to have these bulk real-fruit gummy bears that were all like that. Just a firm, chewy texture, like more elastic fruit leather.
Too bad I haven't seen them for a while. They also used to have chocolate covered caramels in bulk that were amazing and cheap, but they don't carry them where I live.
Life is suffering.
peanut butter bars are pretty similar

They're Japanese Cheesecakes. There are several different well known stores in Japan that make them, they're also found in Taiwan (my OP webm is from Taipei, Taiwan nightmarket) and places. Some have different textures, webm related is Pablo brand cheesetart which is made either medium rare or rare and still gooey inside.

It's 'Uncle Rikuro' brand of cheesecake we see posted in that webm.
Tempura. Especially as a prelude to some good sushi. Has a certain mouthfeel that's unique even among fried goods.
